I realized that I’m so accustomed to getting almost everything accomplished online that I recently found it a hassle to physically go to Pos Laju just to buy stamps over the counter (I checked their website and there’s no online delivery option when it comes to purchasing stamps).
If you think about it, there isn’t really any reason for us to leave our houses anymore due to the convenience of buying groceries, clothes, books, electronics and even our meals online. All you need is a mailing address and a credit/debit card and you’re set for the online shopping life. Delivery services of healthy meals are slowly mushrooming in town as well which is GREAT! Now I can just stay home and binge watch all my TV series while snacking away on a salad bowl. [Joyce: I wholly endorse the idea of physical interaction, but must admit food delivered to my doorstep on a no-people day is awesome.] Here are some places that offer a healthily-packed meal to be delivered to your doorstep >
The #KinkyBlueFairyTeam’s favourite Friday lunch spot recently launched their online delivery service much to our delight. Since our first visit to Goodness Greens Cafe, it was love at first taste. They’ve since added new signature salads to their existing menu – we tried the Tofu Garden Salad, Soba Noodle Salad, Bangkok Salad, Nasi Lemak Wrap and Chicken Wrap. Always a YES to a fantastically healthy lunch affair at the office!
A minimum order of RM 15 is required for delivery, available between 11AM – 1PM Mondays to Fridays.
Mei is also a crowd favourite with the KBF team (having had so many celebratory meals there – CNY yee sang 2015, Joyce’s birthday, April’s goodbye lunch). Sister to Fat Spoon Cafe, Mei by Fat Spoon serves Japanese-inspired comfort food. Think Poke Bowls and Onigiris. So far, I think they serve the best Japanese Poke Bowls in town. King/Faridah and I ordered from their #MeiDelivery website one afternoon and our meals arrived nice and warm, exactly how it is when we dine-in.
Founders Cheryl and Christina found themselves struggling to find an affordable healthy meal back in 2014, so they started making meals at home for fun and soon grew their business faster than they expected. They hope their meals would help Malaysians keep a balanced diet with the belief that achieving balance is the key to life- you don’t have to go on a guilt trip every time you indulge in cake or french fries.
The Naked Lunchbox currently delivers to all Petaling Jaya addresses and a handful of Kuala Lumpur City Center and Selangor addresses. Standard delivery charges for PJ area is RM 8 (for orders below RM 40) and RM 15 for KL/Selangor areas (for orders below RM 40).
A couple of months back, Jun and i went to Penang for his cousin’s wedding.
I love going back there with him cos we had our second getaway date there,
his family have a really comfortable apartment in front of the beach,
we both get so excited by the food there,
it feels great for me to spend more time on the island where i was born (tho i moved away by primary school),
and just the general VIBE of Penang. Loves it.
I instagrammed how we climbed a tree after the morning wedding ceremony, and people started congratulating me randomly throughout the following weeks / asking me how my wedding was -_-
Dropped by the Hin Bus Depot where there happened to be an art exhibition and weekend market going on.
My top and shorts from Zara, bag from Japan- present from Jun’s mum 🙂
The shy writer in me stores away pieces of writing which i write because the words flood out of me, but i’m never sure if i ever will share it in public. I recently found this piece i stored in the backend of my blog from months ago, which i wrote after a trip to Kamandalu in Ubud, Bali, with my parents back in 2014. Reading it reminded me of lessons taught to me… which i tentatively forgot. It’s a nice reminder of what’s important and i suddenly felt that now, is the right time to share it.
I spent last Monday afternoon learning how to make maracons along with some of KL’s most recognisable faces in one of the city’s prettiest and most respectable kitchens – Nathalie Gourmet Studio. Hosted by Dior, the intimate event was an afternoon of laughter and scratch that, so cliche. The truth is we all had to pay attention and take turns doing something to contribute lest you experience a stern glance from Chef Nathalie herself. Yes, there was lots of laughter, but there was also some serious concentration and trying-not-to-screw-up-everyone’s-teamwork.
It was out of the ordinary for me cos i can’t remember the last time i allowed myself out to enjoy an afternoon event in leisure… most times i pop in and out with work on my mind. Since the invitation came a month ahead and it WAS from a brand so established i’d be crazy to say no… I cleared my schedule and woke up extra early so i could sort work out first. Play boss before playing.
I would have liked to RUN off with a flower but… that voice in my head called Ms. Social Etiquette told me not to.
My floral pantsuit is from Love, Bonito
All the ingredients were prepared for us, which can be the most taxing task when it comes to cooking/baking. #cheating
