I’m honoured to be the only blogger invited for the Montblanc 2014 and 2015 timepiece novelties media preview held at Westin Hotel recently 🙂
I’ve always associated Montblanc with their writing tools, which is fair to say, seeing their iconic Meisterstück fountain pen was created 90 years ago! The Meisterstück can be proclaimed as a pen that literally wrote history – with countless presidents and crowned individuals having used it to sign international treaties and such.
The word Meisterstück itself is German for “masterpiece”. Since the Middle Ages, a craftsman only becomes a Meister (master) when his work is deemed a Meisterstück by the craftsmen’s guilds masters.
This hints at the level of excellence that is required for a piece to be considered a Meisterstück, as it stands for extraordinary craftsmanship, traditional techniques, high-quality materials, perfect aesthetics and outstanding functionality.
Now, Montblanc has made available its Meisterstück Heritage Collection – elegant timepieces made under the ninety-year heritage of striving for perfection and masterly craftsmanship.
Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Moonphase
Embodying the finest Swiss watchmaking in every detail, the Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Collection share elaborate features on all its models:
For example: “The time is shown on faceted hands in the classical dauphine shape, which sweep over cambered, silver-white dials that have been tastefully embellished with sunburst patterns. Dauphine hands are extremely challenging to fabricate because their clear geometry, straight contours and perfectly smooth flanks would instantly reveal even the tiniest flaw in their manufacturing or assembly.
The hour circle combines polished faceted appliqués in three different lengths; and in accord with the best watchmaking tradition, each appliqué stands atop two little feet which are firmly riveted to the dial. The crown is adorned with Montblanc’s emblem in polished, raised relief against a matte sandblasted background.”
That’s not even all of it. I just decided not to list it all down here!
My very serious face when it comes to admiring very serious masterpieces.

More pix of the timepieces and people there after the jump.
Didi told me about Earthlings some time back and i finally watched it today.
“EARTHLINGS is a powerful and informative documentary about society’s treatment of animals, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix with soundtrack by Moby. This multi-award winning film by Nation Earth is a must-see for anyone who cares about animals or wishes to make the world a better place.”

One in Heart, One in Hope
My friend Julia contacted me recently to shed some awareness on donating towards the upgrade and maintenance of the Mar Thoma Day Care Centre in Pandamaran, Klang which is an institution (kindergarten) that aims to provide affordable education to the poor children living in the surrounding community.
Short background of the home:
The Mar Thoma Day Care Centre was established in 1995 to provide free education for the poor community of Pandamaran and its surrounding areas. The Centre accommodates about 30 children and two staff. Students are provided with learning materials, food and transportation to and fro their houses.
Due to rising costs, the Centre faces shortage of funds to meet expenses of about RM50,000 per year. Transportation for some children had to be stopped due to lack of funds which resulted in a drop of attendance as the children had no means of reaching the centre.
At present, a minimal fee of RM50 is charged per student for the entire year which is hardly enough to cover the cost of running the centre. The fundraising is an opportunity for members of the public to help contribute towards sustaining this centre which seeks to equip poor children with the education they very much deserve.

Monki, the Swedish sister brand to H&M, opened its first store in KL yesterday!
It’s on the ground floor in a new mall called Nu Sentral (across KL Sentral station) and holds heaps of pieces filled with patterns and colours. Very me.
I’m familiar with Monki cos i bought some things from their store when i was in Stockholm. (Come to think of it, i never even blogged about Stockholm properly -_-)
Thanks to Monki for inviting me to choose an outfit to wear at your launch!
I loveeeee my crazy quirky shorts and oversized kaftan set.
Everyone kept saying how it’s so me!
It’s been awhile since i did that… i don’t usually choose to, but it JUST SO happened that a few things we promised/wanted to go for ended up at almost the same time on the same night.
First Clem and i went for the PUTRA Brand Awards, an industry black tie event where brand building is recognised based on consumer surveys. GAB invited me for the dinner so there was a lot of Guinness and Heineken in our hands that night…
I’m wearing a backless black dress from Singaporean designer Stolen.
Silly me didn’t take a picture of it… next time!
I took this picture just cos Kenny is up there 😀 😀 😀
When the dinner was almost over, Clem and i left for Nash‘s 40th Birthday party.
Sazzy did such a great job setting it up, not to mention throwing another birthday party for their 3-year-old twin daughters the following Sunday. She’s a crazy supermom!
Nice when you have friends like Ning sing on stage too 😉
With Yasmin and Haris, who were deciding who should slap me for talking about trying to put on weight. And one of my favourite couples Azura and Cristiano!
I got a new tattoo last week to join my other cartoons on my ankles! Ok i didn’t PLAN to get so many cartoons… but it’s so happy and addictive to have something i LIKE SO MUCH on me.
Some people think that all these tattoos are TOO much but i just say that they’re taking their skin too seriously. Your body and your skin are just temporary in your existence… and your existence on THIS planet in THIS lifetime lasts only a blink of an eye in the ENTIRE momentum of the universe. 😉
So i really wanted either Bambi or Care Bears. I wanted BOTH.
But my appointment time didn’t allow me both (can’t be tattoo-greedy) so i had to choose one FIRST.
I went with Bambi cos it’s a nickname an old friend calls me, and Bambi is just TOO CUTE.
HOW CAN ANYONE NOT LOVE BAMBI!?
I can’t even eat RABBIT cos Thumper is Bambi’s friend!
Lynda in her Pink Tattoos studio in Telawi. She’s also got a team of tattoo artists of different styles working there.
It took about 2 hours and i love how she made the flowers curve with my ankle bone.
I have to admit… when Lynda drew one particular leg of Bambi right on my ankle bone, three curses in three languages screamed through my brain. Weirdly enough the first curse was in Cantonese (i don’t speak Chinese).
