It’s pretty much been go go go the moment i got well enough to function properly today
Had an impromptu lunch with Mary and Kanch at a legit Japanese restaurant Mary brought us to. She literally had to “bring” us, cos i never would have found it myself. It was my first proper meal in 5 days cos i caught the Bali belly bug or whatever they call it, and was purging and dizzy and ill. It was horrible. Now that i’m better i just APPRECIATE my body all the more!
Had this delicious mentai rice and sashimi that was freshly-flown in that day.
I can’t even say where it is cos Mary specifically said i wasn’t allowed to blog about it, cos it’s a tiny charming place and she says it already gets crowded to the point of queues and she wants to still be able to go there -_-
Went by Organica Lifestyle in Bangsar, and bumped into baby Rae-Lynn and got to hold her for a bit! Do you know how nice it is to bump into a friend’s baby on a weekday afternoon? It’s like holding a little puff of cloud and glitter in both your hands and squashing it to you for a hug.
Back to office after, till 9pm. Came home and couldn’t help going back on to the laptop till midnight and made myself stop. Obviously… i’m back on it again writing THIS.

I’m a big big fan of Thomas Sabo jewellery, and was ever so pleased when they’d invited me to don pieces at their Spring/Summer 2015 Collection launch event at the Ritz-Carlton. If you catch me any day, there’s not a chance i don’t have a Thomas Sabo piece on me. On most days; i’m wearing a necklace, earrings and anklet from the brand! They seem to be my every day pieces i layer with other jewellery.
All the pieces i’m wearing are from Thomas Sabo’s latest Kathmandu Collection. My fave has got to the be one-sided spiked earring i’m wearing. Its detail is utter love.

I’m really feeling this whole sisterhood thing the past year. I mean, i’ve always had lots of girlfriends, but more recently, i’ve been feeling an even stronger bond and sense of unity amongst women. It struck me as even more apparent when i clicked on the button on Instagram to see photos people have tagged of me, and noticed that all the thumbnails showed off an incredible number of old and new female friends in my life and i just felt so… grateful!
On a side(boob) note, i’m putting down the reason my bosom looks so awesome down to the Triumph bra i’m wearing. Patricia couldn’t stop prodding my chest at the shoot, and i, hers. The photographers must have had a ball.
My beautiful friend and award-winning fashion designer Jimmy Lim presented his latest Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Starhill Gallery Fashion Week. Having previously being awarded the prestigious title of ‘Fashion Design Ambassador’ at New Zealand Fashion Week; this also marks Jimmy Lim’s 9th year showing in Asia’s fashion events and his 15-year commitment to his self-titled label.
Drawing inspiration from Lord Byron’s romantically haunting poem, “She Walks in Beauty”, Jimmy’s latest collection entitled ‘Beautiful Collision’ suggests that this season endears poetic romance, youthful grace and a fragile clash of unexpected appearances of the label’s usual DNA.
“She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies.”

This season evokes a dreamy confidence with a commanding collection of modern simplicity and contemporary cuts. Flowy dresses, baggy trousers and relaxed cut tops offer a nearly pyjamas-like sensual sense of dressing; while contrasting the softness with dramatic skirts and jackets with exaggerated lengths and sculpted details.
Jimmy carefully paired luxe fabric such as jacquard, sequined lace, multi fibre knit and comfortable natural fabrications of silk, cotton and linen in order to create a balancing effect of effortless style and comfort this season. The collection’s dark palate is disrupted with accents of cream, silver and bronze; an infatuated reference of the beautiful night sky.

I think that was one of the BEST lines in Cinderella that really resonated with me.
Kindness seems to be a lesson i’m perpetually honing in on the past few months, even before the movie came out. It’s just been coming at me from all directions, as if Life is nudging me to develop it ASAP.
Before one can be kind to others, one must be kind to oneself.
It has to start internally before it can be projected externally.
I’ve started being kinder to myself… and to stop mentally beating myself up so badly when i think i haven’t done something perfect enough. It’s initiated by speaking to myself in a gentler tone in my head, as if to a small child.
And then the challenges come when mustering up kindness during points of frustration+anger at people for work. I try to calm myself down by taking deep breaths and remembering to be kind. There is a Sufi saying i saw twice on instagram that struck me:
Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates.
At the first gate, ask yourself ‘Is it true.’
At the second gate ask, ‘Is it necessary.’
At the third gate ask, ‘Is it kind.’
I mentally repeat this to myself every time i’m faced with a trying situation and my tongue itches to lash out. Try it for yourself to gauge when you should or shouldn’t say something when you’re pissed off. It’s hard!
Mrs. Rabbit cautions her son: “Thumper!” Thumper: Yes, mama? Mrs. Rabbit: What did your father tell you this morning? Thumper: *clears throat* If you can’t say something nice… don’t say nothing at all.
Hee hee! If Thumper can behave well, why can’t we!?
A different type of kindness, is to be kind even when you don’t need to, and it’s because you WANT to.
A great example is one i saw on Yishyene‘s FB today:
How lovely is she?! It’s all about paying it forward these days. Pass it on and on and the love & kindness will multiply!
On my end, i thought about how my strength (as a Connector) lies in the number of wonderful people i know, and decided to sow seeds for random acts of kindness. So at my personal expense, i got cards designed and sent out along with sparkly metallic garlands (cos they make me smile) for friends to give away.
I’m really happy that Walt Disney Studios Malaysia supported my idea,
allowed me to use their Cinderella logo on the cards i sent out,
and include it in this blogpost for them which i’m giving away tickets to Cinderella for! #achievementunlocked
I had so much fun and felt so happy writing out cards to everyone, i sighed to Baby, “If only all i needed to do for work was to write cards to people all day!”
Just look at those bundles of happiness!
Days later, we started noticing updates on Instagram…
When i read about how Aishah got her daughter Soraya to pass it on instead of keeping it for herself, my heart melted AWWWW. I couldn’t help sending Soraya another one just for herself and wrote the card out to say she’s a good little girl and signed off as the fairy. SO MUCH FUN!! *GRINS WIDELY*
