I saw Elizabeth of Bowerhaus experimenting with some designs a couple of weeks ago, and they looked pretty sweet. Do drop by The Playground Borneo this Sunday @ Publika to play and purchase! All proceeds go to the Fugee School, a charity strongly supported by Deborah.

LYN is a brand that reminds me of really good memories of shopping in Bangkok, where I first found out about them. They were one of the few brands that feature very sleek cutting and slim handles on their bags, which to me, feels really timeless. Their shoes are also very popular amongst the Thai locals for their trendy designs.
The brand expanded its reach out of Thailand, and into the Malaysian market (under the Jaspal umbrella). If you recall, there was a LYN store in Bangsar Village 2 for a while. More recently, LYN has given a facelift to its branding and held their 2015 Fall/Winter preview within the lush confines of Cantaloupe at Troika earlier this month. Bags and shoes from the new collection were displayed for us to view, and I was particularly attracted to the Milla Mini bags and their embellished shoes.
There was a lovely flower arrangement table set up for us to customise our own bouquets to take home. I chose the most gigantic purple flowers (you see on the top left above) but was told it was for display only :/ so i settled on picking out a big lily to make a bouquet for Baby!

Suvita’s outfit got 10 points from me that day, and i loveee her shoes (LYN, of course) but they’re sold out. Figures!
Sarinna is about to have her first child, and her and Ish have been working on LYN as well as a new health food restaurant called Raisin The Roof simultaneously. I told them i think they’re mad.
The canapés served were so gorgeous i couldn’t stop taking pictures of them before delightedly picking them up with great anticipation. I think I ate at least 5 of those mini caviar pancakes and a few of those sweet shrimp-on-croutons. I also had a few different types of teas that were available to taste, and they were all so lovely.

For 3 nights only, an incredible cast of talents directed by Llew Marsh will be squeezing the laughter of our in the upcoming show “In Your Face”. Starring Malaysia’s unapologetic Queen of Comedy Joanne Kam and the charming Tony Eusoff, a night of musical medleys and skits is promised to keep you rolling in your seat.
We were told that all of us can expect a full on show that combines the glamour of Hollywood and the theatrics of Broadway. So exciting! The story lines and skits are inspired by Saturday Night Live, and come on, who doesn’t love SNL?
The cast is a myriad of up and coming Malaysian talents like Kuah Jenhan, who is a notable comic actor and writer; Shamaine Othman who is both a director and writer; and Michael Tan, choreography extraordinaire. Then we have YouTube star Prakash Daniel making an appearance as well, with vocalists Ashley Chan, Lalitha Monisha and Sean Chong. It is quite an interesting mix, and these talents are just the tip of the iceberg of the wonderful cast that Joanne has gathered.
Directed by the multiple award-winning Llew Marsh, guests can expect glamorous costumes, updated scripts and jokes and backed by our local musical talent, Daniel Veerapen. Joanne Kam is delighted with the new production and cannot wait for everyone to see it:

I can’t contain the excitement and enthusiasm when we unleash IN YOUR FACE 2015, a truly special show with incredible talents. And yes, boys and girls, I will definitely be in your face for the second time and you will love it!” she says, finishing off with her infectious laughter.

HA! Hello from London! Didn’t think you’d see a post by me anytime soon did you? Well, I received an email from Joyce about a week ago asking if I’d like to cover an event for KinkyBlueFairy and instantly King (Faridah)‘s voice played at the back of my mind singing “KBF is not letting you gooooooo…”
It made me want to burst into laughter but I was in a lecture so I tried really hard to hold it in and ended up gagging a little and almost choked… So much for not attracting unwanted attention. Anyway, of course I said yes!
I found out about Gemma Roe through Joyce’s snapchat when she was here for London Fashion Week. So upon opening the e-invite, I was thrilled! I mean the invite had “Tropical Disco” in neon colours as the heading, how fun is that? What more was that the party was going to be at the glamorous Hotel Café Royal – I knew it was going to be just fabulous.
Having been in the fashion and creative industry for over nine years, Gemma is no stranger to the business. Her debut collection, Tropical Disco, is attention-grabbing to say the least.
They’re colourful, unique and definitely makes a statement. Right when I saw the first few pairs, I just thought “OMG Goddess (yes, that’s Joyce) & King would TOTALLY love this and this and this and just… EVERYTHING.”
These were one of my favourites from the collection. The beautiful ‘Forest’ sandals that reminded me of beach holidays and the #TerribleTwos Penang trip last August. If I had a pair and were back in KL, I’d probably wear these everyday.
I had on my favourite pair of culottes from KOZO x Justin Chew that I got during their launch at Fabspy… which got me tons of compliments hehe.

I heard about this collaboration between French fashion house Balmain and Scandinavian fashion cult brand H&M MONTHS ago! There were so many sneak peeks, and Kendall Jenner instagramming all those photos of her in unreleased pieces was enough to make a girl downright jealous.
Actually when I think about it, it’s a pretty smart move on their part. It caused so much hype that my closest fashionista friends are literally itching to break into the H&M headquarters to see it all. Well played guys, well played.
So the day finally came for the unveiling, and it was my first ever event with Joyce. I was up early and drove straight to the H&M Showroom in Lot 10, just in time for our morning slot. There were so many pieces glittering and shining, calling me to them, I didn’t even know where to start! Thankfully, a nice guy named Darren who was part of the H&M team saw my internal-struggle-with-indecisiveness, and took me on a brief tour.
The overall collection is based on the concept of a “fashionable military”, hence the hashtag #HMbalmaination. Balmain uses a myriad of his signature materials like ropes (seen in his famous military jackets in the 2009 US Vogue editorial), gold and silver threads and gold buttons with the Balmain insignia.
For the men’s section, you will find an array of military-cut jackets with structured shoulders, and embroidered shoulders and cuffs. Military green and blacks were used, enabling the golden thread embroidery to stand out. Horizontal stripes and Balmain’s lion emblem were the star of the show. Staple casual pieces to be worn under these jackets are also available in plain black or white, bearing the iconic BALMAIN logo (which has the words ASIA beneath, for this special release).
