Stuart Weitzman is no doubt, one of the most recognisable names in designer footwear. The brand is mostly known for their strappy heels and Swarovski embellishments but this season, Stuart Weitzman is dedicated to refining and redefining their brand DNA by giving their signature styles edgy updates and creating unorthodox statement-making designs.
Greeted with friendly smiles and delicious canapés, we scanned the store and immediately spotted the CUTEST little shoes ever!
This season’s collection is all about thigh high boots. You’ve probably seen the campaign featuring Gisele Bundchen where she poses with the extreme thigh-high stocking boot, the ALLLEGS, looking absolutely hot (obviously). Stuart Weitzman himself made a statement on how he could not have picked a better pair of legs than Gisele’s to show off the sleek, sexy pair of boots and that she was the inspiration to its name.
Ferhat Nazri of Melium Group took us through the collection explaining almost each and every design with so much enthusiasm, it was hard not to get excited. He even got the models to change into different pairs of shoes so that we could see how they all look on a woman.
NARS celebrated the opening of their second flagship store by throwing a huge party, entertaining their guests with awesome performances, nibbles, drinks and a showcase of some looks their make up artists created specially for the night.
The event was held at the centre court of Mid Valley right outside their new store. It was packed and onlookers passing by the area stopped to see what all the commotion was about. Even people from the floors above were looking down at the neon lights and flashing cameras – I have to admit, I did feel pretty special with all that attention.
Henry Golding, the emcee of the night, making all the ladies in attendance swoon. He’s recently started vlogging *here*

The party started heating up when singer and rapper Hunny Madu appeared on stage in a gorgeous, white ensemble.
Najwa Mahiaddin made an appearance as well. It was my first time seeing her perform live and wow, she is really amazing. She and Hunny performed a duet on an Ed Sheeran number.
Just when everyone thought the performances couldn’t get any better, Dayang Nurfaiza came on stage and the three serenaded the crowd with their powerhouse voices. It was so great. The crowd, both the party and everyone else in the mall, loved them so much they sang and danced along!
Remember when Carrie Bradshaw lost her suede and feather platform while running to catch the Staten Island Ferry in Sex & the City?
“I lost my Choo!”
I dream of having that very same pair ever since.
I’ve always been a Jimmy Choo fan so when I found out we were invited for their Autumn/Winter presentation, I was ecstatic!
We made our way down to their flagship store in Pavilion KL that fine Thursday afternoon, all perked up while humming the Sex and the City theme song to channel our inner Carrie and Samantha.
For the women’s collection, The Ballet takes centre stage as the inspiration. It celebrates the true beauty in the performance – light and delicate but powerful.
These are the bucket bags from the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection which I think are gorgeous. They were the first thing that caught my eye. I especially love the nude one!!
And of course, the iconic 24:7s receive an update by being reintroduced in a new colour palette, soft tones that exude elegance are presented. Our favourites have to be the ones in glitter – Jimmy Choo does them just right! Who doesn’t love sparkles??
A couple of nights ago, Baby and I attended Salvatore Ferragamo’s “The Art of Shoemaking” workshop at their flagship store in Pavilion KL. A master craftsman from Florence was flown in to demonstrate the art of creating the classic Vara- a mid-heeled patent ballet-style shoe with a grosgrain bow and metallic disk, favoured by contrasting individuals from Alexa Chung to the late Margaret Thatcher. What makes the Vara pump so iconic is its history:it was created in the 70s to be a heel that’s accessible yet chic.
I remember when I got my very first pair of Ferragamo Varina shoes (the flat version of the Vara)… I was completely smitten. And they really last a lifetime! I still have that very same pair that remains one of my staples. They’re SO comfy, go with almost everything, and fit almost every occasion.
The store was already brimming with guests when we arrived. We didn’t think it was going to be that crowded!
A work station was placed right in front of the store where Giuliano Bartolozzi, the star of the night, showed of his artisanal skills in making the perfect pair of Varinas. He had just arrived the night before but was full of energy and jollily interacting with everyone. Giuliano has been making shoes since he was 10 years old!
Here he is holding up one side of the Varina flats that he just made. It was quite mesmerising watching Giuliano work; he had his full concentration and heart in making the shoe despite the flashing cameras and crowd around him. Truly a master at what he does.
It was interesting to watch him press a bunch of tiny nails in between his lips and uses them on the shoe he was crafting, putting on a little show for all whom were watching.
