Rise and Grind

Not the sexy kind of grind.

Since returning to KL (yes… i’ve been home for almost a week!) i’ve just been:
– getting over my jetlag
– 4x family dinners
– working
– house renovations

The only friends i managed to catch up with were Rahul and Danny.
I haven’t seen any of my girl friends (except the ones i work with haha)
Oh god i haven’t even unpacked cos i have no space to unpack into. -_-

And it’s really just work… Despite all my good intentions of having a balanced life upon returning, i’m back to constant emails + whatsapp messages + multi-tasking every minute. It’s frantic. Today i almost put a pencil instead of a chopstick into my mouth cos i was trying to write and eat at the same time.

I finished work at 11pm yesterday and lamented to Danny.
His stoic reply: “You just got back from a 6-week holiday so… i have no sympathy for you.”

Haha trudat. I shuttup now.

Er what else. It’s 2am and i was working till now and decided to just take a break from emails cos… it’s like a race that never ends. Baby/Faridah helps me reply some of my emails, but there’s still… hundreds. Hundreds. Besides a teleport machine, i’d like a robot that could just scan my brain so it knows what i’d reply and do it for me. Have you watched Her? It’s this movie i caught on my MAS flight home, and about artificial intelligence that evolves beyond us. I did like it a lot! Recognised Scarlett Johansson’s husky voice from the get go.

It’s KL Fashion Week next week and i’m slightly panicked cos all my clothes are in boxes. I am temporarily living in my parent’s house (after years of not staying here) and things are a mess. I’ve been wearing clothes from 10 years ago that i found in my old room and the team has been kind not to say a word, tho *i* did.

Me to Baby, “Can you believe i got this in Bangkok 10 years ago??”
Baby: Yes i can.

It didn’t sound like positive reinforcement so i discontinued the conversation.

Renovations and client’s work are the TOP of my priority list right now.

It’s so fun making choices for house reno and deco, but also kinda stressful and painful on the $.
I spent hours going over details for appliances in one shot – fridge, washing machine, dryer, hob, oven, hood, TV, speakers, fans, lights…

I took water and bathroom breaks in the store.
In the end, after i’d taken pictures and made notes, the sales guy asked, “Anything else?”
I just about able to say, “No. I think that’s IT. I’m tired!”

Then i had to run back to the office and lay down while Baby and i discussed things.

OH! It’s my Daddy’s 60th Birthday this week!
We had three family dinners in a row – two that my mum cooked, and one at Kame Sushi.
Didn’t celebrate on his actual birthday because according to him, “It’s a bad day in the calendar for other animal years to celebrate.”
So we didn’t.
We still managed blowing out of candles and i had some balloons sent from KBF (of course!!)

Ok it’s time for bed because i have yet another renovation meeting tomorrow. To finalise the carpentry of the kitchen cabinets and get it made asap.

I can’t wait to move!!!!
