Love Your Body KL @ KL Gateway Mall

There are always ways to live healthier, as well as live happier. And how to do that, we can learn, by learning more about ourselves. Our bodies aren’t as easy to read as our elementary school English textbooks. And the bodies of women, are even more complicated to deal with (from what I hear of course). And what better way to learn, than meeting experts about your body, whilst being pampered with healthy food, massages and many other activities.

With the recent launching of several new lines for Malaysia’s new LRT (Light Rail Transit) system, there has been an abundance of both compliments, as well a grievances. And who better do we look to improve, than Japan, a country with one of the most efficient public transport systems in the world.

Colour me crazy

Comments (0) Beauty, Fashion, Style & Beauty

I hate to sound like an old goat, but kids these days are spoilt for colour choices when it comes to make up and hair. Heck, *i’m* spoilt now! In 2000, i had to buy hair dye overseas and us girls were happy with 2 or 3 lip colours/glosses. Now it’s the norm when one has dozens of lipstick shades to choose from, and make up trends come and go quicker than you can finish the product.

Playing dress up is definitely way more fun in these times, and i don’t plan to stop!

This post is a little record of the stuff that’s been going into my cupboards lately, some of my fave lipstick colours in the past few months, and some make up selfies.

I shot this pic below on the same day Han from Centro Hair Salon gave me a new colour job. I couldn’t fully appreciate it while rushing to beat the evening traffic, but when i got home and started fingering through my hair in the bathroom – was amazed at the colour combination he’d thought of. “It’s like… Paddle Pop!” i shouted in my head. Then had the paddle pop song stuck in there for the next few hours.

Taipei: Chiao Tea Salon

Comments (1) Dessert, Food, Drinks & Desserts

Two weeks ago i was on a regional bloggers’ trip in Taiwan for Ever Rich.

Most people I know might already guess I’m more of a cocktail bar kinda girl than a tea salon one. Still, I’m up to try anything or immerse myself into unfamiliar territory because who knows, I might be all for it later on in life when my habits change.

During our fantastic (it really was so fantastic… I think back about it with happy sighs) trip in Taiwan, inserted into our itinerary was a visit to Chiao Tea Salon. Located within walking distance from YongKang Street, our entire troupe had just wiped out an 8-course lunch by a renowned Taiwanese chef (will be in another blogpost!) before having tea at Chiao.

Tea? I was stuffed. I was so full, I stopped talking to people in the group cos I needed all the energy I possessed to DIGEST.

The atmosphere inside Chiao was like stepping into a cute little dainty world where all one needed to care about was French acoustic folk and the art of pouring Taiwanese tea.

The ambiance was immaculate, carefully curated, and serene.
Nothing like how my breathing condition (to digest) was going at the moment.
In fact, upon looking back on arriving, all these pictures now seem like a blur to me cos I was just breezing through the motions as socially appropriately as I could.

Pleasure To Serve

Comments (0) Work

We see them everyday, and yet not many of us actually notice them. The people who send our daily cup of coffee to our tables, the ones who take our orders at the counter and the ones who clean up our tables when we’re done with our meals. The service industry has often been made to sound like it is not as noble a role as in the corporate world… as if it lacks the opportunities to advance very far or to teach us anything worth learning..

Well, in my opinion, this could not be further from the truth. I’ve worked in numerous capacities within the service industry on a part-time basis throughout my university life, be it barista and service staff in a cafe, to the guy scooping ice cream in an ice cream parlor, as well as the sales assistant at a Vape shop.

It was during my brief stint working at a cafe that one of my colleagues (a woman in her 40s) told me:

“I’ve worked as a lawyer, and then as a sales executive at numerous large companies, but none of which comes close to the happiness I get coming here day after day. I’ve made my money, and being here allows me to make something more of myself.”
