I am SO excited about Christmas, can’t you tell! My mood has been better, i’m already plotting what dishes to cook, and i’m being a lot more patient on the road than usual. Weeks ago Clem asked, “Do you want to get a Christmas tree?” I took 3 seconds to digest whether we should get a Christmas tree. Do i want a tree? OF COURSE I WANT A TREE! An excuse to have more color and lights and sparkly things in the house! I yelped out a YES!!! and he sighed, “Why did i even ask…”

Two Fridays ago, i made plans with him to buy a Christmas tree on Saturday at 1:30pm. I never usually make any plans for weekends, but this was IMPORTANT! Came the day and time… Clem was late and i waited an hour and a half for him. When i got pissed on the phone he asked, “Why are you so angry? It’s just a Christmas tree.” Ohmygod i hung up before i said something i’d regret later.

I angrily texted Cammy how my stupid boyfriend said ‘it’s just a Christmas tree’ and she said Kenny wasn’t keen on buying a Christmas tree too, so i said LET’S JOIN FORCES and BUY OUR CHRISTMAS TREES. Clem called me back and i said Cammy was joining me to buy a tree. He asked excitedly, “Oh is Kenny going too?” and i felt like punching him cos it seemed he was only willing to buy the tree if his buddy was there too. (i wish there was a punching icon i could stick right here)

ANYWAY. All four of us managed to end up at BSC where the trees and deco are surprisingly reasonably priced. Clem and i fought our tree issue out, made up and bought the damn tree i wanted so much. The thing is, i didn’t want to buy the tree alone… i wanted to buy it WITH him, make more Christmas memories with him. -_- We don’t already have one cos we spent all of December last year in France hence no need for a tree.

We got our 6 ft tall tree for RM80 (or something like that)

Nice decorations i looked at but didn’t buy. RM30 for ONE ceramic bauble is not a priority for me right now!

A few days after we bought our tree (but had no time to put up yet), i went to the office where my team told me i was on Potong Stim. I didn’t even know what it was, but saw the vid they put up….

At first i was amused, then i was scared like oh my god Clem is going to killll me…. (especially in the parts they said stupid boyfriend, hey! only *i* can call MY boyfriend stupid ok :p) I sent the link to Clem… and didn’t see him that night cos i had events and things.

The next day Neeraj asked me at work what Clem said about the video.
Me: “Urm he didn’t say anything yet… but he did set up the tree last night without me asking him to…”
Neeraj: “Wow. You have a really great boyfriend.”
Me: “I know.” *meek*

Yesterday (Sunday) we decorated the tree together before going for dinner at my parents’.

I know most people plan a colour theme to stick to, but we bought every colour to make it a supercolourful tree! I wanted pink, blue and purple. Clem wanted green, red and gold. So that was that.

Wilson pimpin’ it with his new girlfriends. I was laughing to myself when i put him away but he rolled back towards the pink balls by himself *layan imagination*

Letting the man of the house put on the star

Happy colourful!

Clem tried to dissuade me from buying this polar bear decoration, but it reminds me too much of the Golden Compass to let it go!

Clem put my English bear and Laotian zebra under the tree since there are no presents yet.

And since cats like trees… it made sense to put Cassie our cardboard kitty in our tree :p

And then of course i thought of how the Sri Lankan mice would want to be in the tree too… else they’d get jealous for being left out.

Okay i may be the only person in the world who puts a giraffe in a Christmas tree. But is there a rule written down somewhere that i can’t? Noooooopeeeee.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380 Launch @ Lust KL

Comments (0) tech

I experienced the worst traffic jam all year on the way to the BlackBerry launch last week… I got stuck along 10 metres of Jalan Raja Chulan for ONE HOUR. Exactly one hour cos i was watching the time like a hawk. I couldn’t believe how STILL all the cars were and wondered what on EARTH and HOW on earth this could be so bad. Found out much later what happened was: a Julio Iglesias concert omg. I’m not sure how a concert can justify jamming up an entire city and wasting the time of thousands of people stuck in their cars…

Anyway i’m trying to be more positive in traffic jams and thanks to my spectacular foresight, brought along my kaleidoscope with me in my car. Next time i’m keeping bubbles to blow out the window.

After being in the car for a total of 2 hours, i reached Lust @ Changkat where the event was held.

I’ve had some great nights at Lust…  😆 So was quite happy the event was gonna be held there

It’s crazy how small the BlackBerrys are getting! The new BlackBerry Bold 9790 combines a high-resolution and highly responsive touch display with a highly tactile keyboard and a precise optical trackpad.

For those who’ve always wished the BlackBerry Curve has a touch display, say hello to the new BlackBerry Curve 9380. New Zealand Love

Comments (0) Sponsored Post

The one and only time i went to New Zealand was for a glorious 2-week holiday with my family when i was 14. We traveled free and easy with my dad driving us in a rental car from Auckland to Wellington.
I remember at the time, i thought i’d be most taken in with the cities,
but the countryside in between was what snatched my heart by far!

We saw lakes, geysers, boiling pools and mud, hot springs, volcanic terraces, and craters. We stayed at bed & breakfast guesthouses with the cosiest rooms, farm animals prancing around, and lovely hosts. It was also the trip where i bungy-jumped for the first time in my life! My dad saw my face and asked whether i wanted to do it. I said YES. My mother shrugged okay and i hurried off to make them sign the form before she changed her mind haha.

From my wonderful trip in New Zealand, i know there is so much more to explore there, and have even told Clem i’d love to take a road trip with him there one day.

This is Lake Tekapo, reputedly one of NZ’s best kept secrets.

It even looks amazing when a storm is brewing.

You can go horse trekking there!

Or chill in Alpine Springs regardless what season it is!

There’s also the Mt. John Observatory for fascinated stargazers like me. Located 300 metres above Lake Tekapo, it’s renowned for the clarity of the sky and every year, thousands of people observe southern stars, aurorae, and meteor showers.

Its Astro Cafe has also been quoted in the Lonely Planet Guide as “possibly the best place on the planet for a coffee“. I WANT.

I found a video on YouTube taken by Fraser Gunn from Mt. John during the Aurora Australis display on 28th May 2011. This was all visible to the naked eye btw!!!

Imagine standing there watching the UNIVERSE go by you… and wondering what your place on earth means. Oh my soul, i want to go see that all for myself, i do i do i do!!! I just researched that the next batch of high aurora activity will be in 2013!

Besides Lake Tekapo, i also want to go to the Abel Tasman National Park!

And the Fiordland National Park where i can see wild dolphins!

In Christchurch i can go ballooning and view the Southern Alps on one side, and the blue ocean on the other!

Also in Christchurch is the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve – rated one of the top things to do there on Trip Advisor. You can see kiwi in their natural environments as well as other exotic breeds, feed the animals and have a Maori cultural experience!

As for Queenstown, there’s the Onsen Hot Pools. Rated as one of the Top 10 hot pool destinations in the world, Onsen Hot Pools will let me soak in a private pool (outdoor or indoor) while high on the cliffs overlooking the Shotover River canyon.

In Kaikoura, i can see seal pups up close while they frolick and play freely at Ohau Waterfalls! Reviews have described this experience as MAGICAL and a highlight of their trips – something i’d love to do!

I saw a quiz online (www.thegreatnzxcape.com) and registered myself for fun… who knows? If i win i’m NOT TURNING DOWN A TRIP TO NZ!!!!

I had to choose from 4 choices which type of traveler i thought myself to be.

1. The Scene-It-All

You hunt down breathtaking view after breathtaking view.
Crystal blue lakes for breakfast. Stunning mountains for lunch.
And gorgeous clear blue skies for dinner.
You eat, live and breathe for stunning scenery!

2. The People’s Traveler

You don’t just journey through life, you explore it.
Meeting new people, embracing different culture, and discovering the true meaning of man’s existence.
The more you learn, the more you realise how litte you know.

3. The Epic Thriller

You can’t live with a shortage of adrenaline.
You thrive on the element of extremity and would give anything up to stun yourself.
The term “extreme sports enthusiast” doesn’t do justice to who you are – an adventure junkie.

4. The Eco Traveler

Going green is so yesterday for you! You ARE green!
From stalking wildlife, forest trekking to watching grass grow,
becoming one with nature is your passion, obsession and ultimate thrill in life!

////////////////

That was kinda hard… cos i’m a bit of everything! But above all, i think i put my best travel experiences down to the people i meet. The others all come with it – chasing scenes, appreciating nature, and jumping on an adventure wagon. So i chose The People’s Traveler.

The website registered me with my Facebook account (easy peasy that way) and now i gotta wait till 8th December when the online games and trivia starts! I also have to decide whether i want to recruit other like-minded travel-lovers like me to be on my team, or attempt this on my own…

There’s two categories – team, and solo.
And highest scores in each category will win a TRIP OF A LIFETIME PACKAGE.

Gahhh maybe i should recruit some friends into a team, more brains are better than one!!

If you love traveling and would love a trip to New Zealand too, you can join in the trivia at www.thegreatnzxcape.com

Myra & Fahmi’s Wedding /// JW party

Comments (2) Party, Weddings

Last Saturday was the first time i attended a night Malay wedding – Myra & Fahmi’s! I already knew that it’d be a short ceremony and there would be no alcohol  :xshy:

There were 100 tables at the Felda hall (somewhere off Jalan Semarak) that night, meaning there were 1000 people! Ahmygad. I can’t imagine having to layan 1000 people..! Friends were seated wayyyy at the back (we were table 91) and i don’t blame the couple for placing us there, we were not the quietest in that hall :p

We were so far away i could barely see what was going on, but my magnificent Pen managed to capture the stage! Quite chuffed. Clem kept on asking me questions, like why their hands were being washed, why were we given eggs, and what it all meant. I’m such a fail Malaysian at times. I pushed his curious questions off to Fuad, since he’s Malay and should know his shiznit. Fufu was not as adept at it as i thought he would be -_-

After the prayers and upacara, the food was revealed!

The quantity of food is vastly different compared to Chinese weddings..! I think what we had on the table would be enough for 1x Chinese course :p The good thing is we didn’t overeat (plus we were going partying after that so not a great idea to do so).

me, Clouds, Maybritt
Meesh, Wai Kit, Sarah

I asked the guys to take a picture and noone really budged…

“Schmeh” – Kevin

Fuad (Sarah’s man), Ming (not exactly a man…), Clem (my man), Kevin (Clouds’ man)

Paparazzo shot of Didi saying BYE to 1000 guests at the door.
There was such a long queue going out to say bye to bride and groom that i tak larat to take a picture cos people were moving us along in the line   :xbummed:

I wore a Gallo AW10 top and Azorias gold skirt.

When Clem and i got into the taxi (we always take taxis if we’re both gonna drink) to go to the JW party; i slipped off the Gallo top, kept it in my handbag, pulled up the gold skirt, and retied the strings over my shoulders into a bow to change it into.. a short dress. I was quite proud of how i managed to pull a fashion stunt from being conservative at a Malay wedding, to sexay at the JW party when… i noticed the lining in the dress/skirt only comes up to a certain area and had to avoid bright lights behind me after that -_- NOT AS SMART as you thought, Joyce!

‘Twas Elicia’s birthday last week! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEE WEE   :xkiss2:

Tina, me, Cammy

I liked that the JW party wasn’t too crowded, and you didn’t have to wait long before a waiter with some drinks breezed past you. Just the music… chased us home after awhile. I can layan dubstep for 5 minutes, but any longer and you could see everyone sorta stone (except for Lucas and Clem who are oblivious and can entertain themselves with the sound of ANYTHING).
