After the anniversary party on Saturday night (which i’ll blog about later cos there are SO many pictures to go through!) i was pretty much like a dead person on Sunday and nursed my two-fold hangover with chicken soup and leftover food. Went back to Reigate where we did our laundry, and had a late supper at night. On Monday, i went to meet Yishyene! It was the first time we’d go hang out just the two of us since i got here.
It was really cold on Monday.. the past two days have been brilliant with sunshine and even up to 18°C temperature. But Monday was a different story.
We went to Hyde Park to walk around a bit, and i spotted this huge swan next to the water. Crept up closer to it and… it SO knew i was a-coming. I went slow tho. I have no desire to aggravate a creature with a huge beak to peck me dead.
Chilworth has had this long-standing tradition since the 90s, where Friday nights are dedicated to interns having to cook dishes from their own countries for everyone to try, and lots of drinking thrown in. I didn’t have to cook anything that day, since i’m no longer student i guess, but i helped out as sous chef and photographer of the day.
Besides cooking dinner dishes, we also prepared a late lunch for ourselves.
Queralt cooked this delicious cod + potatoes + mustard seeds + bacon + melted cheese dish. I’m so gonna try it at home for Clem. Actually, i’m gonna try all the recipes i watched being done that day – they were all excellent!!
Living in a tropical country, we are greeted by the hot blazing sun almost on a daily basis, and with humidity joining the weather party, the toll on our skin could be severe if there is lack of care and protection. Even if you’re not exposed to the sun every day, juggling work & life will inevitably cause stress & hormone imbalance.
Sato Pharmaceutical from Japan has introduced the Hakubi White C Series – to help women obtain healthy and radiant skin. The series comprises the Hakubi White C Plus for internal consumption, and the Hakubi White C Gel for external application. The prominent element of this whitening series is Vitamin C, an antioxidant that repairs flawed skin.
I am not much of a big fan in whitening, but I do like the products, it sounds pretty impressive with the combo idea of the supplement pills & the gel together! It’s like doubling the effort to achieve results, or making sure that even if one fails to be effective, the other one would at least indemnifies some effects.
Hakubi White C Gel is a high concentration of Vitamin C derivatives and Licorice Extract, in the form of clear liquid to be applied on skin. The gel suppresses the production of melanin which causes blemishes and freckles. At the same time it moisturizes and tightens skin.
I intentionally flew to land on Wednesday night in London cos my aunt booked us tickets for a recital by Chinese pianist Yundi on Thursday night. The weather has been a lot better compared to two weeks ago, but it was a bit haywire on Thursday. First it was sunny, then there was thunder and hail (?!) then it was sunny again, then it rained, then it was sunny, and back and forth. Yishyene said London was putting on a strobe light show for me cos i’d just arrived.
Finally got to wear my trench coat from Sacoor Brothers 😀 Yeah well, i’m wearing it ALL THE TIME here despite my bringing another jacket. It’s too cold to bare my thighs here! I see people here wearing a t-shirt in 12C cold and think they’ve lost the plot on what constitutes proper t-shirt-worthy weather!
The sun sets are really beautiful during spring tho, and i’ve seen lots of flowers i can’t wait to go jump around and take pictures in the park with.
I left for London on Wednesday morning and will be here for three weeks till early May. Reason i’m here is for a reunion and 25th Anniversary of Chilworth Communications – an ad agency i interned in in 2000. I had a 3-hour transit in Doha, cos i took Qatar Airways, and played with the Olympus camera (that Clem bought me) for the first time.
It’s got even more funky filters than my Pen 3! And i think it’s so awesome that it’s waterproof and shockproof, seeing how much intoxicated debauchery it will be taking pictures of.
Doha airport is massive with lots of shopping opportunities. I walked around to stretch my legs but steered clear of buying anything this time round.
