Of Beauty Myth Busters & Micro-Sculpting Creams

Comments (1) Sponsored Post

A typical woman would use many beauty products across her lifetime. I have! The challenge of today seems to be that we’re spoilt for choice – shelves in pharmacies and skincare stores display dozens of brands to choose from. I don’t even know them all… Plus there are so many big brands out there that make all these amazing claims and promises, it’s hard to decipher which ones exaggerate their results!

When i just started buying skincare, i didn’t know much better and was kinda buying blindly – the ones that seemed to appeal to me the most, or whose packaging i liked best. I didn’t do much research, like how we all do nowadays. We definitely weren’t as internet-savvy 10 years ago as we are now!

You see a lot of videos on YouTube for skincare and beauty, and there’s even this beauty myth buster vid recently posted online that talks about “Reducing Lines and Wrinkles before you finish 1 Jar” >

The moisturizer you see in the video is the NEW Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. The reason they’re taking to the streets is cos Olay have just added 20% more anti-ageing ingredients to Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. It now has more amino-peptide and includes new innovative ingredients like Olivem and Lyslastine which boosts collagen and makes the product work faster and deeper within the skin layers.

I’ve tried the previous generation of Olay Regenerist before this new one, so i was interested to see how testing the new one on the hand would turn out. I always find it easier to observe, cos lines on the hands are much more obvious than that on the face.

I think that the new Olay Regenerist has a lighter and smoother texture compared to the old one. What i still love about the cream is its scent – like you just took a long bath!

It’s quite obvious to see that i put the cream on my left hand, cos the lines are a lot less distinct there. I like how my skin feels thoroughly moisturized and smooth after applying the cream for my first time.

To test whether the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is really better than another moisturizer we’ll call Brand X, i tried a ‘Water Demo’ on it. The theory is that a good skin care product disperses easily in water. Because the main composition of our skin IS water, the more water-dispersed a product is, the deeper it can carry ingredients into the skin’s layers.

I started with two clean bottles filled with filtered water.

Then i inserted the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream into the left bottle, and Brand X into the right. Even before i’ve started to shake it, you can easily see how the left bottle is already getting cloudy on its own.

Quite amazing! Both bottles of water have got cloudy so they’re both good moisturizers, but you can easily see how there are bits of moisturizer that sticks to the top of the right bottle (Brand X) cos it didn’t get wholly dispersed. So the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream (on the left) is a better cream cos it really does disperse in water a lot easier!

New Olay Regenerist really is the NEW GENERATION skin care with ultimate anti-aging result!

To try it for yourself, the New Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is available at all major supermarkets and pharmacies nationwide.

A lottttttt of pictures of my weekend!!

Just gonna THROW all the pictures into one post so it’s better flow methinks! Woke up on Saturday rather hungover (cos i met up with Jason the afternoon before -_-) and rushed to go out cos Aunt G said we’d go walking around some shops before having lunch, and then go for our first Vogue Festival talk that day.

We went into a design shop which sold furniture and knick knacks for the house. I bought a funny book with a hole, and an olde comic book with cartoons i’m not familiar with but Uncle Mark said he used to read when he was a child. So i thought it’d be nice to educate myself on this cult comic i have no idea about. It’s quite funny so far and i only read ONE PAGE. There were some cool mobiles (stuff that hangs in the air) too, but i reckoned it’d just be more rubbish in my house that i buy and plan to put up somewhere and never do.

Pottered about Smallbone and Devizes cos aunt G loves redecorating apartments, it’s her expensive hobby.

Tried to see if the queue at the V&A for the David Bowie exhibition was long, which it was. Anyway there was definitely no time to enjoy it and do everything else we had planned that day.

Vogue Festival 2013

My birthday present from Aunt G was her buying me some tickets to Vogue Festival without telling me. When she finally did send an email while i was still in Malaysia, i was squealing in public when i saw whose talks she got us to attend – Paul Smith with Alexa Chung, Mario Testino, and Donatella Versace!

She couldn’t have picked better personalities for the talks – i LOVE Paul Smith, especially after i read his illustrated biography; i’ve always admired Alexa Chung; Mario Testino is one of my favourite photographers thanks to his long-term stint at Vogue; and Donatella Versace is so iconic, it’d be a treat to see what she’s got to say and is like IRL.

The festival was held all day last weekend and focused on 45-minute talks given by the most luminary individuals in the fashion industry. Besides the talks i went to, there were also sessions including Michael Kors, Vivienne Westwood, Tamara Mellon, Alber Elbaz, Victoria Beckham, Anna Dello Russo, and many many more.

Gathered from her experience of years at local design label PU3, Yasmin Ramli has released a new label called When our eyes met, which translates the punk movement into a more wearable style in current fashion. Min’s style is mainly inspired by her years in London, along with the punk influences of The Sex Pistols and Vivienne Westwood. This label is also defined by the sharp hyper-inspirations set by Margiela and McQueen.
