Urban Veda available in Malaysia @ SaSa

Comments (2) Business, Tech & Gadgets, Work

Earlier this year, KinkyBlueFairy was engaged to seed beauty packages from Urban Veda out to almost 30 of KL’s vibrant personalities to use.

Originally from London but now available in Malaysia across all SaSa outlets, Urban Veda is committed in promoting biodiversity and sourcing natural, fresh and pure ingredients. Their bestselling products are the facial polish and body scrub from the Purifying range which has garnered 11 industry and consumer-led awards. I really appreciated how their scrubs use natural exfoliants such as pumice and crushed pomegranate seeds (instead of plastic microbeads commonly present in most commercial scrubs, which has been linked to serious marine pollution).

More efforts are listed under their accolades, such as
– being certified vegetarian by the Vegetarian Society.
– products do not include parabens, artificial colours, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate or GM ingredients.
– practice animal cruelty-free testing.
– use only Forest Sustainability Certified Outer Packaging and PCR recycled plastic bottles.

These were all such important reason for me on why i wanted to work with the brand.
All their USPs were major ticks in picking a beauty product for me!

I remember hitting puberty way earlier than all of my friends, by experiencing a terrible case of troubled skin. *shudders*
It was so bad, my mom decided to consult a skin specialist, which turned out to be high maintenance fees for a 12-year-old.

The doctor gave me all kinds of creams to apply and pills to take. It was very effective but came with side-effects (my period stopped coming). After consulting my family doctor, he claimed those pills would mess my hormones up.

So we turned to over-the-counter products and homemade remedies for troubled skin that my dad found from the Internet (circa 2006, Google wasn’t exactly a term yet). There were very little products that contained natural ingredients back then and most were made of highly concentrated chemicals.

It’s easier to get one’s hands on gentler products nowadays, and Urban Veda is a new one to watch out for.

Urban Veda bases their products on the principles of Ayurveda in a way that is relevant to modern times. Combined with the therapeutic properties of plants, they pride themselves on helping you achieve ‘pollution proof’ skin that is less vulnerable to environmental (smoke, toxins, etc.) and lifestyle (stress, late nights, etc.) factors that negatively affect your skin.

The Urban Veda ranges are designed to suit different skin care types which in the principles of Ayurvedic medicine are associated with ‘doshas’.
This is the Ayurvedic term to describe the physical and emotional tendencies in our mind and body.

Their line of products are all colour-coded accordingly so you won’t have to spend years in front of the counters, reading through all the labels to find which ones that will suit your skin type. All ranges contain a full regime for both facial skin and body care.

Macau: Six Senses Spa @ MGM Resorts

Comments (1) Health, Spiritual, Health & Develop

Macau, with all its extreme lavishness (as i wrote about *here*) spared no expense when it came to their spa, which i have absolutely no misgivings about. However, Six Senses spa (which i visited in mid-2015) will continue to do operate under the management of MGM Resorts Macau from 2016 onwards.
