The day AlcoJason came back for hols, i dropped everything and scrambled to meet the fellow to catch up.
We had a slight drama at first cos he was going to 1U to get a new hp for a prepaid Msian line, and in order to find him there he asked me to sms his UK line.
I couldn’t get his UK line.
At all.
After walking around the new wing in 1U looking for him like a donkey for an hour, i gave up and went to grab a pie and latte at Coffeebean whilst waiting for him to call me when he got his line up instead.
Little did i know that *my* phone was having connection problems and he couldn’t get through as well, all i got was a worried-sounding voicemail from him saying his phone with the UK line crashed all of a sudden.
What’s with our phone karma!?
Fellow tried calling me again from a public phone and we managed to hook up. Finally.
It was a Monday night and i wasn’t sure what was going on in town, so we decided to drink at TTDI Plaza.
I wrote a review on Bamboo in KLue sometime this year, so i have the info in my files:
Address C-1-5/6 TTDIPlaza, Jalan Wan Kadir, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, 60 000 Kuala Lumpur Websitewww.bamboo9.com.my Tel 03 – 7727 9511 or Aileen @ 019 239 5817 Open 6pm – 3am everyday
AlcoJason and i have always had drinks when we catch up in recent years.
But it never included Guinness Draught before.
I figure in the time we haven’t seen each other, our drinking preferences have changed dramatically if not somewhat.
I automatically went, “Guinness draught please,” to the waiter.
“Ha? Guinness? I didn’t know you like Guinness draught!” blurted AlcoJason.
“You have no idea dude… i drink it like almost every day now.”
“It’s okay, i like Guinness draught too!”
“… Guinness draught la then.”
(walau i cannot do this wei. editing pics of the foam makes me wanna run out to drink it now -_-)
Wow. I went all nostalgic reading how we used to party. I think now, we party harder and (maybe) a bit smarter?
Then Gary called, asking me where’s happening that night cos his old friend was back from London too.
Dude, it’s Monday night la… i don’t know!
Funny thing is, everytime someone wants to party or drink, they’ll call me -_-
So i asked him to join us in Taman Tun.
And then -_- i got another call from a slightly drunk someone…
So again, i just went, “Come join us la!”
And he came.
Check out the trying-to-maintain eyes.
AlcoJason tried to make me drink at the same rate as him, one for one.
After three Guinness Draughts on my part, “Jason… i tak larat already okay, you’re drinking too fast plus i’ve cut down my drinking!”
“YEAH RIGHT!”
“Yes i HAVE!”
Still…
I remember all the Guinness promotions they were having earlier this year, like buy one pint, get half free; or buy (i forgot) a certain number of pints, get a lighter free.
Yeah. It’s kinda obvious how much i drink Guinness Draught.
>.<
From now till end of December, buy three pints, and get a Guinness towel free.
I think at the rate we go, we can have enough towels to provide a gym.
“What’re going to do today?”
“We don’t have any work to do… so we’re gonna have shots in the office!”
“Busy day, i see.”
“Uh-huh!”
DatinTini brought Frangelico, lemon and sugar.
She even brought her own knife to cut the lemon with, cos she’s too diva to use public property knives in the office. -_-
You dip the lemon slices in the sugar and suck on them, keeping the juice in your mouth. Then you down the shot!
It’s delicious! Tastes of chocolate, cake, hazelnut and all things happy!
I lost count how many we had.
She started singing some Care Bears song after that. I didn’t even know Care Bears had a memorable song.
Went to Pavilion just now to buy food cos the alcohol was making us peckish.
Went to Taiwanese Street Food place on the Lower Ground floor where i always get my oyster mee sua.
The team gathered in the head office pantry before heading out to KLIA.
Naturally, only two or three people would have to drive the rest.
“Who’s gonna drive?” Vijen asked, looking around at DatinTini, NotYourAverageJo, Arianna and i.
My hand shot up, “I will!”
It was like volunteering at school.
Teacher asks someone to run an errand and i suck up. Only difference was in school, i was trusted with the keys to the literature room, to which i’d make out in with my exboyfriend. I would never trust students with room keys if i were a teacher.
Anyway, back to the story. Everyone looked relieved and i really didn’t mind driving to KLIA.
Honest.
I mean, what ulterior motive could i possibly have?
*evil grin*
Once we were in the car, i drowned my team in Christmas carols.
His sarcastic distress almost killed the joy of the carol.
After 30 minutes…
DatinTini: Jo? Are you alive? Eh *says to me* I think he’s going to stop breathing by the time you reach…
I felt like i’d made them suffer enough already (but how on earth can listening to joyful Christmas carols be suffering?!) and switched CDs.
Later on in KLIA, i found myself standing next to Vijen in the lift.
Me: I played Christmas songs in the car!
Vijen: … *looks around at everyone* No wonder everyone looks dead.
-_-
As we were surveying the stocks, DatinTini slunked away and ended up in the alcohol section.
Woman losing the plot.
Absolut had a new display case promoting Absolut Pears…
But DatinTini and i were ooh-ing and aah-ing over the glamour-can-die Absolut Disco bottles.
My eyes are wide ala spaced-out-wide, as i stare out into the garden, getting a breather in between rushing some emails and work to send off.
Slept at 6 (i think) last night and i think age is catching up with me cos i used to be able to survive perfectly throughout a week of 4 hours sleep a night.
Now i just mati.
Been hearing all these over-the-top rumours about me all week (what’s with this week?!).
The best was from DarlingDhanya.
“She said her colleagues were saying you’re crazy.”
“I’m crazy? *thinks of Dhanya posing as a pregnant woman in Le Meridian for fun* … Who *are* these people?”
“They’re from Celcom.”
“What… *thinks* I don’t think i know anyone who’s from Celcom!”
So if i meet anyone and they tell me they work in Celcom, i’m going to be suspicious whether they’ve been saying i’m crazy >.<
Went for dinner KelvinTSD at San Francisco Steakhouse last night and told him about it.
“Well, when i meet people and they ask me what you’re like, i just say, Joyce? She’s absolutely loony.”
“… Thanks. You’re such a great help. -_-“
Told someone else bout it too.
“So… apparently i’m crazy.”
“Oh babe i already knew that.”
If my own friends aren’t going to back up my sanity, i don’t wonder why strangers exaggerate it even more.
Okay, gotta change and get to my head office.
We’ll be undergoing training(?)/visiting at KLIA to see the products there.
I feel like i’m going on a field trip.
Field trip! Field trip!
It’s like school again.
Except we don’t have to wear uniforms. *shudder*
And we’re getting paid. Haha!
Someone just told me the news that your baby daughter got born yesterday, congratulations! Remember how last week you were complaining at TSB that no matter which way your daughter is named, there will be jokes made due to your surname ‘Ho’ at the end?
Well… i know your beautiful Eva (and i DO think it’s really pretty, i said so myself!) is only one-day-old but the jokes have started amongst your friends already…
“That’s a nice name!”
“Eva? Yeah, but imagine when she grows up and someone puts the word ‘What’ in front of it.”
“… It’ll be… ‘What’ ‘Eva’ ‘Ho’… Hahaha shit!”
“You cannot say i said this.”
