and take pictures of me then i’ll always have updated pics on my blog
So busy
Or rather, priorities are different
Some backlogged pictures (as usual!) of some stuff i wore in February
This whole thing about harem pants… i wasn’t so sure about it cos dahlah i think my hips are big for my petite size (hence i’m always hiding them)
So i would never pay over RM50 for a pair of pants i know i might wear once or twice just to experiment
But chuck aside after that
I bought the pair below for RM20
top; from a store kinda like MNG in Bangkok
pendant; pocket watch spotted in Petaling Street which i chucked on a chain
pants; platinum mall, bangkok
heels; nine west
watch; levi’s
Stupid thing was, they TORE as i was getting out my car when i reached the office
I heard a loud sound that sounded alarmingly like a rip
And sure enough… there was a huge tear at the crotch -_-
Showed it to SarChan that day and she laughed at me and told me to stop flashing her
+++++
tie-dye top; bangkok
asymmetrical shrug; ck
leggings; chiang mai
bracelet; baci
watch; guess
peep toe flats; jakarta (for some ridiculous price of RM11)
multi-chain necklace; diva
zebra necklace; bangkok
scarf; lah’lah’land
dress; jatujak, bangkok
belt and bracelet; kenya’s vintage store, bangkok
shoes; lacquer & lace
Love love love all the treasures i bought from Kenya’s in my last trip
This particular one has got embellishments on the back of it
Of course, i try not to buy the stuff that is too dusty/rusted/worn
It’s no surprise to any of my friends (or readers) how much i adore Guinness
I crave for it at the end of every work day
Most of the time i succumb to it
Other times i don’t due to other plans (events/dinners)
But even so, i try to make my dinners somewhere i can get my hands on a nice creamy pint of Guinness Draught
The last time i had Guinness was last Saturday at Terrace Bar @ Zouk
RowdyRudy and i couldn’t take the crowd at Barsonic
So i dragged him downstairs to catch up
He used to wonder what was up with me and that “black drink” of mine
Well, look who’s drinking it now too… him!
I wish Guinness would reward me for being such a willing and effective ambassador…
Like, by providing me Guinness FOR LIFE or something
Last week i was invited to the Guinness St Patrick’s Day Media Launch at Hakka Republic (Menara Hap Seng)
At first i was thinking… what kind of place is Hakka Republic?
Sounds like a Chinese restaurant, kinda weird for Guinness to be doing a launch there
0_o
Turns out it was a wine bar!
Super tak tersangka
Spotting the bar waiters serving Guinness (from the tap of course!)
Yum
Lining up almost-filled pints…
Before the final top-up when guests wanted one.
The event was to kick off the month-long celebration and activities Guinness has planned in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Day.
A traditional Irish festival that involves the colour green, music, food, and drinks is widely celebrated across Europe, as well as US, Australia and Asia.
Guinness-infused canapes were served during the event, which guests pounced on
The event was attended by members of the media, trade partners and members of Irish and expatriate associates in Msia, and a few bloggers.
I unintentionally wore green to work that day… which turned out me blending in with the event
DoraemonKenny recently went bald for charity too
When he first told me his decision a few months ago, i was like, “Damn, you had to upstage me! Haha!”
But the boy raised RM63k so good on him *pats head*
For the past few years, every time i try to take a picture of Adrian, he quickly turns away resulting in one of his side/back/covered face/all the aforementioned
-_-
TigerJoe, KenDD, Arthur
Landslyde emceed the event
“Guinness, much like St. Patrick’s Day is synonymous with good times with great friends. This year is the year which we will celebrate 250 years of Guinness, and to mark this very special birthday, we are committed to host an even grander and more remarkable St Patrick’s Day celebration for all Malaysians to enjoy,” said Mark Jenner, MD of Guinness Anchor Marketing Sdn. Bhd.
Eoin Duggan, Deputy Head of Mission at the Irish Embassy in Malaysia; and Mark Jenner triggering the launch gambit.
A video showing the party scene during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Dublin, NYC, Paris, Tokyo and KL was then played.
They even got KL Tower to change its lights to green for that night!
Which cost a reputed 10k
Which i think is kinda reasonable
This year, Guinness is not having one, but TWO huge parties in Malaysia!
One in Penang, and another in KL
Both will feature shamrockin’ world class acts from Australian rock band Skybombers, Corpus – an acrobatic performance from Holland, Guinness-infused cuisine, awesome games and of course, copious amounts of Guinness Draught.
March 13th
KL – 1 Utama, PJ
March 14th
Penang – Juru Auto City
For more info, go to www.guinness.com.my
Huges events aside, Guinness-serving outlets will be having a month-long St. Patrick’s Day promotion with dishes served with Guinness-inspired sauces created by famed chef Emmanuel Stroobant aka Chef in Black.
Every Guinness-infused main course you order comes with a complimentary pint of Guinness Draught too!
Even all the more reason for me to plan my dinners in certain restaurants this month…
Also, with every purchase of 3 Guinness Draught pints, or a bucket of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout – exclusive limited edition St Patrick’s Day + Guinness merchandise will be given away free! (till 31st March in all participating outlets)
I got a few (a couple of luggage tags and that huge St Paddy’s Day hat) and i’m not usually a fan of all this merchandise at all
But because i love Guinness so much i can’t help it
I’ve already put the luggage tag next to my luggage key and lock to use next time i travel
>.<
March 10, 2009Comments Off on In A NutshellLa la la Like
The drive to Kuantan was lovely and i managed to catch a few hours of sun on the beach
Didn’t get any today cos it rained
Since we had a couple of hours to kill before starting the drive back to KL, TigerJoe suggested we walk around the mall there
… I mean seriously, i was half wondering to myself WHY would i want to walk in small town mall when we have bigger better ones in KL?
Upon 5 minutes of being in the mall, “You really don’t think much of this mall, do you.” “Why do you say that?”
“You’re walking around with your arms crossed.”
Bah, i couldn’t help it.
But you know what.
I’m so glad we did.
Cos we stumbled upon a bundle store on the top floor there.
Only in a town can you find a bundle shop in a mall i think.
I bought a few jackets for RM10 each which i thought were very IceCalvin indeed.
And a top-to-bottom exposed zipper skirt for… RM1.
RM1 okay.
Can die or not.
(Answer: CAN DIE DOT COM)
Then i spotted this authentic Mickey Mouse bomber jacket.
It was so unique… i couldn’t put it down.
TigerJoe was giving me all the bad points on why i shouldn’t* buy it.
But after some thought, even he admitted it was a special find and it was just the cost of restoration that was going to increase the price of the jacket for me.
The jacket was RM20.
Dry-cleaning and leather restoration will cost way more but screw it!
Even if i don’t want it in a few years, i’m sure i can sell if on eBay or something.
So there, i bought myself a jacket + skirt for RM21.
Oh and a cool Casio watch for RM40.
Yeah, i know, go Kuantan also can manage to shop.
Drive back was long as there was a terrible jam due to roadworks along the highway.
0_- Pei.
Threw bags at home and changed into black
To go for PassedOutBen’s father’s wake…
POB told me his father would have been very happy to know i went.
I replied his father should be very happy for raising one of the greatest people i know.
… Left POB to layan his relatives after a while.
I went to grab dinner at Bangsar with SmallSerena, who happened to be with Hannah and another friend
(Thanks for dinner Hannah )
They told me about this amazing detox soap they’re both using
And i swear i just paid an exorbitant amount on a single bar of soap -_-
But i’m gonna try it and see whether it really works (getting rid of pigmentation, evening skintone, etc)
Grabbed a quick glass of red wine with Serena at TSB
Then here i am at home
Getting ready for work tomorrow…
One of these really random posts that i possibly might delete tomorrow
Went to pick up the mini cooper BMW is lending me for the long weekend
Which is all the more why i want to take a nice drive somewhere
Like PD, or Bukit Tinggi, or Kuantan..?
Not sure yet
Went to the Chivas event
Steph gave me shit for going cos three of us were cursing Chivas ever since we saw horses they used for their promotions frothing at the mouth and causing a terrible jam on P. Ramlee
Poor animals
Admittedly, PR peeps for Chivas are damn cemerlang
Yes that means Eric
I don’t know why i didn’t have fun at Chivas
They seemed to get quite a lot of things right, yet something went wrong somewhere
Events can be quite a chemistry at times
The guestlist seemed right, i saw many people who’d make a party
Line up was great
Hmm flow of drinks was a bit stoic tho
Ok i think this blogging-till-i-get-sleepy thing is working
It’s a bit unfair how technology keeps on getting better and how i wish i had certain things students have now, which i didn’t have back then!
Then again, i bet my seniors think the same thing.
So it’s a never ending cycle la :p
One of the latest and most exciting things to hit Malaysian media is the launch of revamped Hypp.TV website – the first broadband TV in Malaysia that allows you to stream more than 30 exclusive channels right unto your pc screen!
I was invited to their launch @ Laundry, The Curve alongside other bloggers a couple of weeks back.
RingoCheesie was dressed as an ABBA member.
Her hair was so awesome, i thought it was fake.
Everyone was to come in costume.
I didn’t have time to drop by the costume rental store so i cheated by dressing up in my usual party clothes and said i’m Sinead O’Connor.
The Hypp peeps explained to us how to use Hypp.TV, and it’s really easy.
The more they went into detail about the service, the more it interested me.
And the more i think this would appeal to college students who don’t have TV or Astro in their rooms!
These are the channels they have available:

Present to launch the new Hypp.TV was Mr Jeremy Kung, Executive VP of Consumer, TM Group; Ms. Emily Wee, GM of Content and Digital Media, TM Net Sdn Bhd; and Jamal Jassim, CEO of SyQic Capital, Hypp.TV’s technology platform and content service planner.
Now the question is… how do you register?
