Heineken Green Room State of Mind Project

Last year, Heineken got KinkyBlueFairy together with other creative individuals in KL to construct creative pieces that projected our Green Room state of mind.

[I collaborated with fashion designer Jimmy Lim]

All the works were exhibited in Cloth & Clef first,
and then in Zouk for the main event where Dexpistols (Tokyo) and Van She (Aus) rocked Heineken Green Room.

Heineken Green Room State of Mind

Together with Malaysia’s Lapsap, all the DJs rocked the Heineken Green Room mad…
So mad, i found blur pictures like this in my camera the next day   :xwhatevah:

And crazy pictures like this as well…

This year, Heineken Green Room is back and i’m super excited about end of this month now!

Expect a brill line-up of electro power pop (one of my faves!) from VHS or Beta (USA); minimally driven electronica from Djuma Soundsystem (SWEDEN); and breakbeats from Box Frenzy (MSIA).

VHS or Beta

Heineken Green Room

Leading US electro poppers VHS or Beta leapt to the heart of the electro-punk movement in 2004 with their blend of 80s pop sheen that form electro pop dance grooves.
Think a harder rocking version of The Killers plus Duran Duran.

Djuma Soundsystem

Heineken Green Room

I love acts from Sweden cos they’re all so whack (and i really want to go and live there!) and Djuma Soundsystem looks no different.
Bridging the worlds of electro, techno and minimal house, their single ‘Les Djinns’ is Beatport‘s biggest selling track ever.
They’ve made parties move, including playing at Denmark’s Roskilde, and to 50,000 people at Ukraine’s Free Fat Festival.

Box Frenzy

Heineken Green Room

Of course, there has to be some representing from the local music scene and Box Frenzy takes the stage for this.
Formerly known as B4C, Box Frenzy is known as one of the most innovative live electronic acts in town with their ability to deconstruct dance floor favourites.
They rocked ‘Heineken Music presents Impulse’ in 2007, and were unforgettable in Heineken’s Thirst Studio competition.

I’m looking forward to the madness,
And i’m not missing this.
That’s for damn sure!

Malaysian Dreamgirls Drama

Comments (5) Sponsored Post

*Disclaimer: My opinions are purely based from what i view online and are not personal attacks of any sort. I do not know any of these girl personally *phew*

Episode 9 of Malaysia Dreamgirl airs later today and i’ve been following the series
It was a bit draggy at first but now is when it starts to get interesting

Remaining 9 finalists are getting bitchy in the house they have to live in with each other for 2 months,
Girls are getting eliminated,
And true colours can be seen.

Below is my personal take (for now) on the girls.
I say ‘for now’ because as the show progresses, so do the girls and one’s opinions of them.

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Pinky.
Ah the regulatory Chinese-y girl in the show.
I don’t think she’s half bad tho.
And though people might say it’s too much she acts all cutesy,
I can see why she’s made it this far to the finals.
She’s remained on the outskirts of the drama,
Which is good in some ways.
And in others doesn’t garner her the attention she might need to go on.

<To vote for Pinky, send DREAM 10 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Natasha.
I was in the room when she was auditioning in KL.
And first thing i thought was – “Hot DAYMN.” – when i saw her.

I, along with hundreds of others i’m sure, couldn’t WAIT to see her long overdue locks chopped off,
all that horrid colour and dryness.
Euch.

Her makeover made her look so much more mature and chic.
Loving. It.
She takes great pictures, and has a great body.

Although she didn’t stand out to me for nuts at the show at Mist,
there’s just something about her face and demeanor that makes me think she’s got it for the industry.

A lot of people commented she’s rude and nasty when the cameras staged a confrontation with Ming.
But i didn’t think so.
Personally, i just thought she was defending herself with balls.
And Ming just couldn’t keep up with it.

<To vote for Natasha, send DREAM 09 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Ming.
Aha. So there’s Team Natasha. And Team Ming.
Funnily enough, i’m okay with both of them.
I like Ming because she’s so outspoken (granted, she didn’t do so well defending herself in the fight with Natasha).
I like Ming’s features as well, there’s something theatrical about it.
But like Natasha, she didn’t conjure stage points (at Mist) for me.
But also like Natasha, she takes some pretty good pictures.

<To vote for Ming, send DREAM 08 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Liana.
Sorry (actually, no i’m not) but you wouldn’t get any of my votes.
1. I thought it’s quite lame for you to break the rules and sneak in your phone. And to tell your parents who laughed with you on the phone. Well, just goes to show what sort of upbringing you have.
2. Sneaky sneaky sneaky!
3. I just cannot like your pictures. I don’t know. I just don’t slash can’t.
4. Bah, i just get bad vibes from what i’ve seen of you so far on the show. I’m allowed my vibes.

<To vote for Liana, send DREAM 06 to 33001>
Malaysian Dreamgirl

Juanita.
She’s not keterlaluan drama in the show.
And i like her new look muchos.
Looks classy, and she seems to carry herself better than the other girls.
Would love to see how she progresses in this…

<To vote for Juanita, send DREAM 05 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Farah.
Oh, Farah Farah Farah.
You undoubtedly have the best face (to me anyway) amongst all the finalists.
At Mist, you didn’t walk with much presence, but your FACE alone was enough to make up for it!
So many of us were going, “WoW. Who’s that? She’s stunning!”
Your face is really cantik can melt people la.
Unfortunately your attitude seems to be the worst when it comes to the contest.
You don’t socialize, and blame it on your own mood and character.
You say you get bored easily.

Hmm, maybe you are the dreamy emo type (yeah, i know i’m trying to figure you out based on a show and your blogposts -_-) but if so, maybe you’re not the type that suits the job.

<To vote for Farah, send DREAM 04 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Shasya.
Your face reminds me of Azura (ex-Disney host).
Don’t really stick out to me much tho… i need to see more pizzaz from you!

<To vote for Shasya, send DREAM 12 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Dawn.
Very girl-next-door.
Pretty, but like Shasya, nothing too outstanding to me for now.
Maybe cos i like the drama to watch :p
Anyhow, she seems professional enough when working.

<To vote for Dawn, send DREAM 02 to 33001>

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Denezia.
I don’t think Denezia can win this show.
She just doesn’t have the looks and every time i see her on screen,
there are two things in my head –
One, “Bulbous nose” and
Two, “I’d love to meet her.”I love her attitude, her sharp tongue and her whackiness.
Denezia is MAD.
I’d vote for Denezia JUST SO i’d have more entertainment on the show and laugh!
Whatever the outcome, Denezia wins my vote for “Person I’d Most Like To Bring Out On A Picnic With!”

<To vote for Denezia, send DREAM 03 to 33001>

So who are you voting for?
Who do you want to win?
Which 3 do you think should be out next?

Mabuk at Sunburst

Comments (8) Music

I blogged about the lineup at Sunburst just over a week ago and wasn’t too sure whether i was going to go

When i was younger (cheh like damn old -_-) i would WANT to go for EVERYTHING.
EVERY concert, must go!
EVERY rave, must go!
EVERY party, must go!
EVERY event, go go go!

Till i stopped having fun going to so many
Maybe because my expectations got higher, the more i went to
0_o

Or my preferences changed
Or i’m just becoming a moody bitch who wants to do things as and when she pleases :p

So i just thought ‘go with the flow’
If i wasn’t having fun, leave early
If i am, stay on
Ended up being at the festival till 1:30am!

On the way to pick Aps up

Milcah did my hair earlier yesterday
She straightened my hair so it won’t be so (in my words) – “chinese monk who cannot afford to get a haircut and it grows round and ugly”
TigerJoe said i’m being racist
I retorted how can i be racist when i’m chinese   :xsilly:

sunburst 2009

LammyLamLam used to be my team manager in BAT
I moved on to Freeform after that
And he moved on to Tuborg (which he’s feeding me lots with, in the hope i will eventually like it more)

Edwin produced the Heineken videos where you can watch here

So people can find me easier heh

She’s always carrying food in her huge bags
Cos she’s always going hungry

N.E.R.D. really ROCKED the place
At one point, Pharrell was asking everyone who was pushing to stop it cos it just wasn’t cool and everyone else was cheering like crazy

sunburst 2009

Then Korn came on
To which i suffered

Told PassedOutBen about it and he said Korn fans will stone me alive
I said i don’t care and to each his own right  >.<

I remember buying Rimmel when i was in London
Their makeup was always so alluring with its sparkly colours, rich textures and edgy ads

Rimmel London

I’m intentionally putting the ad above because it’s for one of my favourite lip glosses
To make things easy, i’m just going to pinpoint two of my favourite Rimmel products

Rimmel London

Their Shock Gloss
And Waterproof Eye Definer

Their Shock Gloss really lives up to it’s “Plastic Fantastic” tagline
And i wore the Eye Definer ALL DAY to Sunburst yesterday without it smudging
With DarlingDhanya even complimenting me on my eye make up (which she rarely notices)
Right now, Rimmel is having a pretty cute campaign called The Perfect Kiss

“It’s so cheesy i cannot sleep okay -_-” – TigerJoe

Comments (1) La la la

The fellow was nicely sleeping whereas i’m really awake right now
So i figured i might as well continue catching up on Malaysian Dreamgirl since streaming isn’t such a bitch right now.

I really enjoyed myself at Sunburst
Till i had to teman the man layan Korn
I swear i tried so so hard to stand there for as long as i could
Till i SERIOUSLY couldn’t take it anymore and had to go back to the Tuborg area

There, i saw with my eyes closed and fingers in my ears till they were done
(And they took so long! MH almost one hour okay)

TigerJoe loved it and was over the moon
I was happy for him
Just can’t understand this whole suicidal noisy music :p
