Closet Cleaning + Axwell in KL!

Comments (6) Fashion

1:38am:

Have gone through one third of my wardrobe and that alone took me half a day.
I dread to think of the fortune i spent on clothes and shoes since i started working..!
I’m not even counting the number of items i’ve never worn before.
Ridiculous!
I can’t believe my parents never sent me for counseling!
I can’t believe i managed to accumulate so many things!

But… i must say i’m really proud of certain items i’m not selling off,
cos i don’t think i could find them ever again.
Certain vintage pieces, some sewn by my grandmother even,
others sourced from godknowswhere.

Okay, continue cleaning.

2:30am:

I went thru a pile previously set aside that was for sale at Chic POP,
and actually put some things back in my wardrobe!
There was this awesome red+grey leopard print dress (vintage, which i got altered to fit me)
and i was thinking: “WHY would i want to get rid of that?!”

I have a bad feeling months from now,
i’ll remember some random item i sold and go, “DAMMIT I WISH I DIDN’T SELL THAT!”

-_-

Got reactions from witnesses.
My brother’s girlfriend Sonia: Woah…
Daddy: Good God. *looks around* Who asked you to spend so much money on clothes?!
Me: … well urm at least now i’m considered some sort of expert in shopping in KL right… :p

I got a scarf hanger thing from Ikea cos i thought i’ll sell of some of my many scarves.
But after fingering them lovingly,
i decided against it.
I can’t part myself with those patterns, and i took years collecting them all from different countries, markets and departmental stores!
Cannot.
Sayang gila babi sial.

Ashes Boutique, Delicious Ingredients + Ne-Yo Concert KL

AshleyTheMonkey has finally opened her boutique in Bangsar   :xlaughing:
She’s been wanting to do it for some time,
but of course,
all these issues like $ and renting location had to be solved first.

I was away in Bangkok when she first opened,
so the only update QueenKanch and i got of it were in pictures via MSN.

I LOVE her lamp.
When i first saw it, i stuck my head close to it,
wondering what it’d be like to be one with the lamp.

But stopped.
Because, y’know, i’m normal.
And normal people don’t do things like that.

Ashes Boutique KL

Lady boss.

Ashes Boutique KL

With its cement flooring, raw brick walls and minimalist interior,
it’s got a very New York loft feel to it.
Not like i’ve been to NYC -_-
Just sayin’.

All the clothes are very Ashley.
They’re *so* the things i envision her wearing out,
with a few pieces things that i’d wear too!
Like these leggings:

QueenKanch joined us after i snooped around Ashes boutique,
and us 3 went to Papa Rich in Bangsar for lunch.
I insisted on going there cos Shantini is one of the silent partners who opened the place, and i wanted to try it out.

Later on, i saw Delicious opened a super next to its restaurant in Bangsar Village II!
(Just like the one they have at Dua Residences)
Seriously la… i disappear from KL for 3 weeks and all these new places open!

I don’t know whether it’s because i just watched Julie & Julia,
or whether i’m looking for new hobbies in life,
or WHAT.

But i LOVE pottering about supermarkets,
picking up different ingredients that look exotic,
and imagining what i would cook with them.

Doesn’t hurt that all the packaging is so pretty too!

Bangkok: Pak Chong

Comments (5) Bangkok, Thailand, Travel

+ + scroll down for additional pix + +

During one of my weekends in Bangok,
QueenKanch + i were invited to Pak Chong to chill out at a house party.
Pak Chong is about 3 hours drive from Bangkok,
and i was stunned as to how the drive there was a VERY STRAIGHT road.
It wasn’t like highways in Malaysia or Indonesia where it curves and goes around hills.
This was literally a very straight, flat road for 3 hours.

We arrived at a sprawling countryhouse,
which was owned by Ooh’s family.
She said one room was for one family (since her grandparents have 3 children).

QueenKanch and i got a huge bedroom to ourselves.
With one king-sized bed each.

Gila a lot of space wei,
so we both shared one bed :p

Pak Chong

Oh yeah, before i go on,
SO MANY people/strangers asked whether she and i are a couple!
I usually laughed it off,
but she was quite emo when a guy (from another time and place) playfully punched her for dating me.
Kanch: WTF WHY IS HE HITTING ME!
Me: Urm, i dunno, you want me to hit him back for you? Haha…

Okay i digressed.
Back to Pak Chong,
we arrived at dinnertime,
and met the whole group through Rafiq (through Kubhaer)

Pak Chong

One of my favourite pictures from that countryside trip – Ooh hugging her golden retriever, Sunday, just before bedtime.

The next morning, i was able to marvel at the huge garden and sniff the fresh cold air.
It kinda reminded me of Surrey!

How Very ME To Do So!

Comments (2) La la la

Christmas Eve was spent mostly with RowdyRudy.
I haven’t been seeing him much (obviously) since i’ve been in Bangkok and we’ve been keeping in touch by sending each other voice notes on Blackberry.
It’s quite cute really, he’d describe something funny that happened, and send it to me, to which i’d laugh.
And i’d do the same back (though maybe i’m not as funny as him, he just started doing stand up comedy summore!).

Christmas sparkle in black, counts.

sparkly top + accs; bkk
tights; topshop
lace up boots; bimba & lola
gold mesh watch; nooka

Crossing the line

We ended up partying till superlate and sleeping at 7am.

By Christmas Day dinner at DreamerCyn’s house,
i was feeling pretty shite.
I didn’t feel like i could be entertaining, nor be entertained.
(Sorry Cyn!)

By Boxing Day 2nd dinner (first dinner was at home, right after that i went out for 2nd dinner with my Lovelies at Castell’s)
i had a blocked nose and felt the beginnings of a fever coming.
Restaurant owner Sheena found me a couple of Panadols which i took immediately,
while i dolefully watched the rest feast.
I’m okay with being sick tho.
I haven’t been sick for awhile, so i prollie had this coming.
And i’d rather be sick after Christmas than on Eve itself (now that would REALLY suck!)
Will prollie force me to stay at home tomorrow and blog too,
so you can expect some updates a-coming.

On a supermrbrightside,
I’ve decided that i will be taking part in Flea Titan in Singapore next weekend!

 :xlaughing:

I have heaps of new and secondhand things which i need to sell off to make up for my shopaholic tendencies,
and with organiser Lynn (whom i met at Chic POP flea market) inviting me,
all the more i wanna go cos i know they’d make me feel so welcome!

Since i’ve already been meeting more like-minded peeps in Jakarta and Bangkok,
i might as well try to go regional and meet some peeps in Singapore.
(Maybe next will be… Manila? Haha.)

 :xlaughing:
