On the 2nd day of Chinese New Year,
a group of us planned to spend the day at Selangor Turf Club
thanks to an invitation from Kenny and his family.
I was quite excited cos it sounded like a fun day of
eating, drinking and betting on horses!

I wore my new backless white dress from Singaporean designer label Stolen.
The material is thick and smooth but not in the least bit hot!
It clung really nicely to my body and even hid my CNY tummy.
Necklace from Echo & Keera, bag from thirtyfour.

Lots of Chinese New Year characters pretty much POUNCED on us at the entrance
The God of Prosperity, lions and others i don’t know what they’re called :p

Group pic! Kenny, Cammy, me, Clem, Kenny’s mummy, Matt, Serena, Helo, Lucas.
Kenny’s dad is missing here oops…

1st day of CNY

Comments (4) Family

I think i ate the MOST this Chinese New Year.
OK that got me thinking about that year i threw up in my own mouth while driving
after overeating at reunion dinner…
but this year i’ve been eating CONSTANTLY.
A good meal every two hours…
Looking down at my tummy when i sit down in bed makes me go UGH AWFUL!
so i’m mentally prepping myself to go for powerplate tomorrow…
and perhaps running too!

The day before Chinese New Year – Nick and Caeser.

Some drama happened with the dog this week.
Mummy was walking him when he managed to mysteriously escape from his harness.
Terrified he’d get knocked down by a car or run away,
my mother THREW HERSELF on the tar road to catch him.
Which she did… and subsequently cutting and bruising herself badly on her knees, ankles and elbows as well!

Luckily she didn’t break a bone.
I’m just wondering if i would have thrown myself on the road to catch that cheeky bugger.
So amat tersayang by my mom until she’ll hurt herself for him and not scold him after!
“He doesn’t realise he was wrong, it wasn’t his fault,” she says.

-_-

Just HALF of the dishes we had for reunion dinner.

Fooling around with my uncle’s magnifying glass hur hur

Movies i loved watching in the past year

Comments (9) La la la

I’ve been meaning to blog about this for awhile but never got to it
till now when i think it’s the perfect time to!
Chinese New Year is always the time when we eat and watch TV.

Well, when we were young we’d do both along with:
playing with fireworks
pretending to get drunk on shandy
being forced to visit relatives far away

Now when i’m older it’s still eating and watching TV, along with:
gambling (but i don’t really gamble… only small $)
more eating (and feeling guilty about it)
drunking

Since it’s the time to rest more (after all that eating), i wanna share some movies that you should download watch!!

The Intouchables – Oh man i love this movie.
Must be my favourite movie of 2012.
I even saw Swedish ppl watching it in Falun (countryside in Sweden) with Swedish subtitles.
A movie that i’d watch again…
Most friends have watched this, but IF you haven’t, GO!

Another really beautifully-shot and sweet movie i love is Moonrise Kingdom.
I waited and waited till a good copy came out online and went for it.

It’s by Wes Anderson, so if you liked his past shows like Fantastic Mr Fox, then you’d love this! It’s got a great soundtrack, amusing script and altogether so whimsical! Clem didn’t really like it tho… and i told him we shouldn’t be together if he didn’t love it too! :p

Besides happy clappy movies, i do enjoy the occasional ‘hard’ movie (as Clem calls it).
Hard because it’s a bit tough to swallow sometimes and makes your spirit go “OOF”
but still very good ones.

One is this French movie called De Rouille et d’os with Marion Cotillard. It’s a great movie, but a bit dark… but still worth watching.

Tong Tong Tong Chang!

My hairstylist Alex advised me weeks ago to book my appointment at The Met cos the pre-CNY rush is always mad.

I love how he makes my head into a work of art!

Also got convinced by the team to take a picture with the larger-than-life one of me they have hanging in the salon. It was from when i modeled for them last year which got them a finalist position in the L’oreal Colour Trophy Awards.

+ + + + + + + +

Feeling somewhat festive, i’ve started using my lipstick red leather bag from Thirtyfour

Day Two:
We packed our things to get ready to check out from Villa Bunga Hotel
Went to Made’s Warung to grab some brunch
I had a satisfying nasi campur as usual
Clem had a disappointing sandwich and coffee oops

After filling our tummies and stocking up on mushies
we grabbed our bags into the waiting One Eleven van that took us to bvilla+spa.
There are three bvilla establishments in Bali: +pool, +spa, +seaside

bvilla+spa has 13 exclusive 1 to 3-bedroom villas, and a 5-bedroom villa spacious enough for ten people.
