Snackfood & The Off-Day!!! Hooray!

Comments (1) Fashion, Shopping

I finally got to visit Snackfood & The Off-Day after not being around since they opened! Adeline of Snackfood has been selling her curated collection of vintage items for years now, and Irman (who was my art director when i was with Tongue in Chic) has ventured into retail and called it The Off-Day.

They’ve joined forces to give birth to a new store in Telawi Bangsar that sell an array of the whackiest vintage paraphernalia and hip menswear (that i know nothing about).

I was to hang out with Max who’s down (up?) from Johor so i dragged him along with me. When i went upstairs there were so many people just hanging out there, beer in hand, cos the store was gonna close soon. I was like, “Wow, ada kenduri!” But it was so fun and i was so excited to see them all and chat. I didn’t even have a beer cos i was trying to stay off alcohol (okay and my hangovers are getting pretty bad nowadays, hitting 30s has its cons). When some of them cheers-ed with beer, i did the same with my bottle of mineral water (which made a dull thudding sound) and i think people are not used to seeing me drink WATER and had superwtf expressions.

Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant Launch + Fashion Show + Dinner

Comments (4) Sponsored Post

I went for the launch of Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant three weeks ago, and boy, was it a big fancy do… I didn’t know it was going to be taking up the whole concourse area of Publika outside the restaurant itself as well!

My white backless dress is from Singaporean designer Stolen, and my very comfortable gold mesh heels are from GlamRockChic.

Now if you didn’t know – Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant is collaboration between noted Malaysian fashion designer Beatrice Looi; Chefs Sherson Lian & Johnny Fua; and the oldest cognac house Martell. The joint effort to develop a creative space for emerging talent stems from their mutual goal of supporting the local creative platforms of fashion and gastronomy. Hence, i knew we were all in to treat our senses in taste and style that night.

An exhibition spread out on a long path along the red carpet after the registration table, where bottles of Martell were artistically decorated. On the walls were the profiles of all the designers who have their designs stocked at Elegantology.

The Martell bottles were beautifully done and went beyond the typical sculpture one would expect to revolve around a bottle.

I went a bit early so that i could mingle with the designers and other members of the media before the formal dinner was served. I’m not going to say no to Martell cocktails to take the edge of a crazy work week!

I kept on going for the Martell with apple juice. So easy on the palate!

With fashion designers Justin Yap and Venie Tee.

Elegantology’s interior is designed in such a way that exhibitions of clothing and accessories are interspersed with dining tables for customers who wish to dine in. It is such a large space that there is even a bar and lounge area in the establishment.

If i could have a RM15K shopping spree at BSC…

Comments (0) Sponsored Post

I recently heard about this contest where ONE person will win a RM15,000 shopping spree at Bangsar Shopping Centre. I’ve been mentioning it to quite a few friends and even guys are asking me, “How?? What do you have to do!?”

Hahaha! I thought only women would be interested in shopping sprees… but seeing the number of cool shops in BSC, i guess anyone can find a lot of stuff they’d want there!

It’s so easy to blow RM15k in that place. In fact, i reckon i’ll have a hard time choosing.

I play this game with myself sometimes (come on, i’m sure you’ve done this at least once before!) where i pretend i get to choose whatever i want from a shop. I think it must have stemmed from a children’s game show i watched when i was really young – where these lucky kids who get picked are given 3 minutes to grab whatever they can in a toy shop, and if their final total is over a certain amount, they get to KEEP everything! I used to fantasize i was picked, and strategize all the toys i’d grab first and how fast i’d run.

Except that now this is an adult’s game.
We get to pick better ‘toys’ and we don’t have to run.

In fact, before shopping, i’d be grabbing a bite and a glass of cab sav for some ‘strength’ 😉

Then i’d pop by the home shop first… i’m currently obsessed with home deco and furniture since we’re gonna be doing up our new apartment this year!

Funky lights, sleek sofas, designer chairs, quirky table deco… i want so. many. things. -_-

Another place i would probably put aside some of my ‘budget’ on is Mothercare. Do you know how much money i’ve spent in Mothercare!? Baby stuff is expensive man! I’d probably stock up for all the inevitable baby showers i’d have to grace presents with, and keep aside some for myself too when the time comes!

Of course, it’d be silly not to pick out some shoes, bags and jewelry to spoil myself a little bit with at Shoes Shoes Shoes…

And maybe, designer kitchen appliances i haven’t allowed myself to buy yet!!!

And then, to be generous and share *some* of my winnings, i’ll let Clem pick out a suit here…

OR. Just forget all the above and GET ME SOME JEWELRY MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Le sigh. Sorry, forgot about myself there for a moment.
See what fantasizing about shopping sprees does to me! It’s so fun yet evil!

And about this RM15,000 shopping spree i’m talking about, it’s not fake okay.

BSC is having something called the BSC59000 contest. For awhile i didn’t get what the 59000 meant, then i realised it’s its post code! (Like Beverly Hills 90210 geddit? :D)

From now till 31st October 2013,
there will be a RM1,000 shopping spree to be won every month,
and the Grand Prize of RM15,000 shopping spree to be won at the end of it!

To enter, one has to answer 8 simple questions at the end of the month.
I’m guessing these questions will be based on the lifestyle happenings of new food, new products and new arrivals at BSC.
To be updated about their new offers every day, LIKE the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Bsc59000

You also have to follow these 5 characters on Facebook – Zack, Katrina, Sam, Elle and Maya – to take part in the monthly contest to win the RM1000 shopping spree. It’s quite interesting cos there’s a drama going on in between them involving jealousy, vanity, indulgence, love, friendship, and integrity.

They each have very distinct personalities which we can probably connect to someone we already know exists in our lives. Besides the on-going drama, their Facebook accounts are also frequently updated with what they’re up to at BSC.
