I was out with Clouds and Kubz one night as we left The Bee to walk to our cars.
Despite it being quite late at night, I suddenly remembered that there was SOMETHING fun i could do that would make the walk to my car a little extra ordinary.
I switched on this app on my phone and started skipping.
Kubs even managed to get a shot of me.
Because i already started the timer on the app, i didn’t wanna stop skipping so i’d bounce and bop up and down while exchanging our last few pleasantries before heading off to our respective cars. Luckily there weren’t many people around Publika, cos i was skipping quite properly all the way to the carpark.
I even skipped down the steps of the motionless escalator, causing an unexpectedly loud “thump! thump! thump!” which scared a few girls who were camwhoring at the bottom of it.
They ran away squealing thinking it was someone chasing them… and i heard one of them say, “I thought it was a guy!”
I called out chirpily, “No it’s not! It’s just a girl!” while skipping around to the next escalator to go down.
*Thump!*
*Thump!*
*Thump!*
Down
Down
Down
I bounced down the steps thinking, “This must be what Tigger feels like.”
When i got into my car and locked the doors, i checked the app on my phone to see how well i did.
I skipped for 2 and a half minutes! Which was not bad… i thought.
As for the distance, i skipped for 0.06 km? Darn, it sounds much less when put that way… skipping is like half-flying, it’s active work!
Still, skipping 0.06 km was better than nothing, cos every tiny measurement counts!
Sikit-sikit, lama-lama jadi bukit!
The app i am using is called Rexona MOVE, designed to measure every little activity women do so that all the kilometres we complete are converted into donations for underprivileged children!
Our collective efforts have to measure up to a total of 10,695 km in order for Rexona to keep to their promise to fund the social cause!
It’s a cool way to be more conscious about how active we are,
while contributing to the community in a different yet healthy way!
Just look for Rexona MOVE on your Appstore/GooglePlay,
and register with your FB account, so no forms to fill in.
The app also uses my phone’s built-in GPS to track my distance as i move from one point to another.
Even if you’re not a sporty type (like uhhhh me) you can select activities like shopping and dancing to pitch in!
If i used this app while i was traveling, i’m sure i could pitch in around 50 km from walking and shopping alone :p
To spur us on further,
we can unlock badges,
achieve milestones
and win prizes i.e. 30 iPad minis!
So many reasons to move!
You get active, while pushing a brand to help underprivileged children in every state in Malaysia,
and at the same time you could win a prize including one of 30 iPad minis?!
Check out their website rexonamove.com.myto find out more about the campaign.
Malaysians have really come together to make this happen,
by moving to reach Sarawak in just 3 weeks after the launch!
That doesn’t mean you stop moving! The more you move, the more children you will help.
Even Sazzy Falak and Nash Idrus is in on the campaign! >>
To get started yourself, search for ‘Rexona MOVE’ on your Appstore/GooglePlay!
If you don’t have a smartphone, you can still get in on the fun by playing the online game at www.rexonamove.com.my/game
Uni students can also watch out for some activities and prizes to be won on these dates! >
Shu Uemura has always been focusing on Mr Uemura’s vision of an ‘open atelier’ – a space where women can freely explore different ranges of professional make up in an open tester environment – which encourages them to find their perfect look.
This year, the brand has decided to bring this experience to a whole new level.
Not only do they want you to dive into the colourful and spectacular choices of professional make up, but they also wish for every customer to experience the wonderful Japanese art of service.
Besides exceptional service, Shu Uemuramarks its 30th anniversary this year by launching an entirely new store design in more than 100 Shu Uemura boutiques worldwide. Malaysia is proudly the first ASEAN country to incorporate this concept into their Mid Valley Megamall branch, which is what brought me there 🙂
We were introduced to the first Elite make up artist in Malaysia, Lisa Yap, whom has won several international awards and also gained worldwide recognition from Shu Uemura’s international team for her make up creativity and skills.
During the launch event she demonstrated the latest runway looks.
The end result was bold and contrasting colours that were immaculately blended onto the eyes teamed with gorgeous eye lashes. Many ladies were amazed by the eyelashes and the eyeshadow, as I kept overhearing compliments on how natural and not overtly dramatic the entire look was.

I was invited for Longchamp‘s AW13 media preview at The Majestic weeeeeks ago (if you noticed my same outfit in a previous blogpost cos i jumped from one event to another like a jackrabbit)!
Sometimes i go for events not knowing how much inspiration or information i’ll glean from them as they all vary, but i had such a great time at the Longchamp one!
Beautiful venue,
great display and enthusiastic explanation of the products,
i was drawn hook line and sinker once i touched and carried the bags,
we had champagne in hand the whole time,
and i think most importantly – i met two kindred spirits whom i chatted to for hours about traveling, love and spirituality. The champagne must have sped up our bonding process too, no doubt.
With Mei Sze and May Sze. I know, their names are so similar! Makes it easy for me too XD
I know Longchamp for its cult canvas bag, but the preview i attended was to introduce us to a huge range under the brand that is expanding our arm candy choices to materials beyond practical canvas. Aps was telling me she wanted to get a leather bag for her birthday, and i immediately told her to check out Longchamp cos i spotted three designs i really liked on that day alone!
Perhaps my favourite is the ROSEAU BOX >>
It’s so shiny it glistens, and looks like you’re holding water!
Made of patent calfskin with a glossy finish, the Roseau Box is signed with the Longchamp racehorse in its familiar leather oval and clasps shut with its emblematic bamboo toggle with a bright nickel finish. It comes in sumptuous shades of dark Aubergine, warm Cumin, intriguing blue-green Cedar and rich Carmine; and is available in two sizes – the smaller of which has a shoulder strap.
This is one of the walls of Longchamp bags at the event. On the top left is the Le pliage Cuir, Longchamp’s famous Le Pliage bag in leather. I’ve close ups of these travel bags further down the post.
In the middle are Roseau Heritage tote bags, released to mark the Roseau’s 20th Anniversary. The bag’s timeless design will appeal to active and elegant women the world over, and looks sleek for any office wear. Best of all is that they’re crafted from the finest calf leather that will become more beautiful the longer it is used.
One of my personal top 3 favourites include the one above – the Longchamp 3D. It’s incredibly soft and i heart that it’s shiny too. I’m a sucker for shiny things.
The bag’s softness is due to it being made from the finest quality young bull hide with its unique natural grain and creases. Hence it feeling exquisitely soft and exceptionally supple.
Hanger party was last Sunday and i wasn’t sure whether i would go or not, i figured i’d just go with the flow (my favourite kind of plan on weekends nowadays). When i reiterated my so-called ‘plan’ to SueAnn, she was all, “You better come.”

She added, “Oh i’m so surprised lots of people are coming as animals!”
Cos the dress theme = suits or animals.
I got a bit excited, “Really? That sounds cool…”
SueAnn: “Yeah, i’m going as a unicorn! I’m gonna make a horn and tail.”
Me: “Cool!”
Throughout the whole day she kept on talking about her unicorn costume, and even msged me on SUNDAY a few hours before the event saying how people are gonna laugh at her crossing the road in her costume. So i thought, “Set la, i’ll go in my Cheshire cat costume.”
When i got out of my car in Hotel Maya, i put on my costume and thought it was pretty handy in covering my handbag so noone can snatch it. But when i approached Zouk, i saw a sea of people wearing black and thought, “WHERE ARE ALL THE ANIMALS?!”
I felt like i got conned. Someone even asked whether i was the Hanger mascot.
In the end, i won a best-dressed prize of ic! berlin sunglasses so the costume’s ROI exceeded my expectations. People asked where i got it and i said, “Disneyland… it’s my spare costume.” They were either shaking their heads or laughing, sometimes both. I don’t see what’s so wrong about a spare costume… In fact, i think it’s a VERY smart move, cos if a party suddenly comes up, you don’t have to go hunting last minute for one, it’s already in your closet and ready to rock.
I told someone, “Since i’ve used up my spare costume, i guess i have an excuse to get another one.”
Friend: “How long ago did you buy this one?”
Me: “I don’t know… early last year?”
Friend: “So it’s like one costume a year.”
Me: “Yeah! Then in five years’ time, i’ll have five costumes then i can get a group of friends to all wear my costumes and we can go running around!”
Friend: “So that’s your 5-year plan.”
I laughed so loud when i heard that. The last time my CEO asked me what my 5-year plan was, i said i didn’t have any, i’m a go-with-the-flow kinda person. But i guess i do now!
My 5-year plan results in having a group of friends dressed in costumes… My priorities in life seem a lot clearer now.
If you’re looking for a bar to chill with piano playing in the background, jazz singers, French fine dining, and authentic Italian dishes; then Troika Sky Dining may be of great interest to you.
With a great environment and jaw-dropping city view, Troika Sky Dining is on the 24th floor of The Troika (at Persiaran KLCC, beside Nikko Hotel). Despite its busy surroundings, the restaurant and bar is rather quiet and peaceful, allowing one to enjoy food and drinks without the city’s bustle and only its amazing view.
It comes in three concepts: Claret, Cantaloupe & Strato.
Once you step out of the elevator, Claret Bar is in front of you. The seating arrangement in the bar is great — as none of the seats are too close to each other, assuring privacy.
The bartenders are really cheerful and attentive. I love how concise they are when asked about the drinks, taking their time to explain about each one.
Unlike many other bars that usually play music that’s sometimes a bit too loud for my liking, The Claret has a baby grand piano in the corner, where a pianist and singer entertain with smooth calm jazz or blues.
