Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant Launch + Fashion Show + Dinner

I went for the launch of Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant three weeks ago, and boy, was it a big fancy do… I didn’t know it was going to be taking up the whole concourse area of Publika outside the restaurant itself as well!

My white backless dress is from Singaporean designer Stolen, and my very comfortable gold mesh heels are from GlamRockChic.

Now if you didn’t know – Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant is collaboration between noted Malaysian fashion designer Beatrice Looi; Chefs Sherson Lian & Johnny Fua; and the oldest cognac house Martell. The joint effort to develop a creative space for emerging talent stems from their mutual goal of supporting the local creative platforms of fashion and gastronomy. Hence, i knew we were all in to treat our senses in taste and style that night.

An exhibition spread out on a long path along the red carpet after the registration table, where bottles of Martell were artistically decorated. On the walls were the profiles of all the designers who have their designs stocked at Elegantology.

The Martell bottles were beautifully done and went beyond the typical sculpture one would expect to revolve around a bottle.

I went a bit early so that i could mingle with the designers and other members of the media before the formal dinner was served. I’m not going to say no to Martell cocktails to take the edge of a crazy work week!

I kept on going for the Martell with apple juice. So easy on the palate!

With fashion designers Justin Yap and Venie Tee.

Elegantology’s interior is designed in such a way that exhibitions of clothing and accessories are interspersed with dining tables for customers who wish to dine in. It is such a large space that there is even a bar and lounge area in the establishment.

Lots of interesting spots for picture-taking opportunities should you go visit…

Delicate canapes were being served from the moment we stepped in

As you can see from the pictures, Elegantology displays quite a number of exclusive men’s fashion and lifestyle products. Every item is created by reputable local designers and pieces are tailored in limited numbers for the most sophisticated of tastes, allowing the Elegantology man to rise above with style.

I can see myself pulling off one of these bow ties with a cute shirt and shorts.

Maximalist ties are not for the weak at heart.

For those who are unsure of their sartorial choices, Elegantology provides a team of personal stylists (aka Elegantologists) at the gallery. These Elegantologists are always on hand to style you up or find you exactly what you need – whether it’s for a special occasion or a complete wardrobe overhaul.

I met Resident Elegantology Chefs Sherson Lian and Johnny Fua

The duo refresh their Ever-Changing Menu every 3 to 4 weeks as to ensure new dining experiences for loyal customers. They also regularly evolve the menu by collaborating with rising guest chefs, and constantly encourage these aspiring chefs to create unique and innovative gastronomy experiences.

Zana and Patricia K. I’m loving their necklace and belt!

Outside the restaurant, an entire area was cordoned off by velvet ropes and there was pretty tight security to ensure that only guests were allowed to enter.

Johnny and Sherson getting to work on the dishes for the dinner that was about to start…

In the middle of a lavish tent was a long runway, flanked by dining tables at which we were to be served a 4-course dinner.

I had a whole bottle of Martell to myself all night haha

Waiting for everything to begin!

Former Miss Malaysia/World 2010 winner Nadia Heng emceed the event and i must say i think she’s a very good host!

Fashion Designer Beatrice Looi gave a speech, followed by some words from Martell Global Sales Director, François Plantecoste.

The show kicked off with Beatrice dramatically ‘unveiling’ the opening ensemble complete with bottle of Martell.

8 collections were shown that night, but i’ll share the pictures further on in this post as i got better close-up shots of the models after! I heard that there were over 50 models for that night alone as no outfit changes were carried out.

While enjoying the fashion show, we were served a 4-course dinner, making it a true occasion to indulge in gastronomy and fashion.

Smoked Muscovy Duck with Foie Gras Mousse, Shiitake Mushroom Terrine, Red Onion Jam, and Grilled Korean “Bae”. The duck was extremely tender and flavorful with a slight hint of saltiness that was just right.

Kelantanese Laksa Soup, Hokkaido Scallop, Sambal Twist, Quail Egg, and Ulam Julienne.

I chose the main of Beef Rib (cooked at 77°C for 24 hours), Yukon Gold Potatoes, Glazed Carrot and Shimeji Mushroom.

For dessert we had Sesame Sorbet with Compressed Melons, Yoghurt Cream, Candied Walnut Macaroon, and Anjou Pear.

And throughout the dinner i sipped on Martell on the rocks with a dash of water 😉

Amber Chia closed the show with a downright bang, decked up in giant outstretched wings and an outfit only her body could pull off.

All the fashion designers, chefs and Martell representatives on stage to end the show!

Elegantology had all the designers, models and celebrity guest models pose on the red carpet for pictures after the runway show.

Former beauty queen Nadine Anne Thomas took to the decks to provide dance tunes till late into the night while everyone mingled and got merry on Martell.

Let’s just say i didn’t leave too early that night :p

Just when i thought it was all over, i got surprised with a gift of appreciation from Elegantology! A plate with a kiwi on it, haha. Awesome! I love plates with illustrations! Thank you so much <3
