The world-renowned French leather goods and clothing house just opened its Kuala Lumpur Exclusive Store at Pavilion Mall this week, and i went for a preview of it with a whole bunch of bloggers last Tuesday! 😉
I should be so honoured seeing that Longchamp’s ideal woman is someone who “enjoys life and looks on the bright side” of things 😀 😀 😀

Longchamp is an extremely recognizable brand, especially for its classic Le Pliage bag. The iconic foldable bag is so popular, more than 26 million bags have been sold to date and it’s been seen on the arms of celebs like Rooney Mara, Alicia Keys, Liv Tyler and countless others.
Lots of awesome artists and designers have collaborated with Longchamp too i.e. Kate Moss, Tracey Emin, Mary Katrantzou, and most recently, Coco Rocha!
A bit ‘o background about the brand – it was founded back in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, whose descendants still own and manage it till today. There’s a strong appreciation for heritage and nationality in the French house, and as most of you know, i do have a thing for the French 😉
Longchamp used to specialize in leather-covered pipes, before going into leather goods in 1955, then luggage and handbags in the 1970s. Recently, they’ve even gone into ready-to-wear and shoes, while maintaining their heritage of craftsmanship and creative collections.
The new store in Pavilion is the largest in Malaysia at 1,500 sq ft.
Featuring the latest expression of Longchamp’s global store design concept, you’ll notice delicate and neutral colours created using refined natural and reflective materials.
Embossed leather, wood, painted and printed lacquer, frosted and engraved mirrors, shiny and matte patterns on walls and furniture… all of these create contrast and interest to form a feminine elegant store that is reminiscent of Longchamp’s craftsmanship and heritage.

The iconic Le Pliage® (which means ‘fold’ in French) was launched in 1993 and is probably the world’s best-selling bag! Its newer version, Le Pliage® Cuir (cuir means leather) is, you guessed it, the leather version of the Pliage!

MaySze and Derek from Longchamp talking to us bout Sur Mesure – a personalisation service to create your own Le Pliage – only available in the month of November in conjunction with the store’s opening. It used to be available only in certain countries and is in Malaysia for the first time.
Each bag takes up to 8 weeks for processing, as each order is made in Longchamp’s original workshop to maintain its quality.
I didn’t take pix of the RTW clothes but you can visit the store to see for yourself. Longchamp’s RTW was launched in 2006 and consists of easy elegant pieces in line with what French women love.
Longchamp’s shoe collection this year has lots of styles like flats, heels, open-toes, boots, low boots and sneakers. Every shoe collection mirrors that season’s handbags and RTW, with some styles available in eight to ten shades.
Each Longchamp bag can require up to 250 separate processes and most of these are undertaken by hand, by highly-skilled artisans in the brand’s eight workshops. They definitely pride themselves on craftsmanship and luxury.
I now own a gorgeous new Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir that i’ve been using to lug all my outfits, make up and work stuff for hectic days!

I went to Hong Kong for a whirlwind trip sponsored by Cathay Pacific and Accor Hotels/Novotel (while also supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board). Thank you! I had a GRAND TIME, and saw so much of Hong Kong i never knew about before, thanks to the Es-capers Scavenger Hunt they painstakingly organized.
Two media per country from Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia were flown to HK to experience as much as possible within three days, and from the length of this post you can see how much we managed to cram in!

First up, i gotta thank Cathay Pacific for flying me on Business Class. After traveling so well this year, i went home to Clem and proclaimed, “I don’t know how i’m gonna fly economy anymore!!!”
Poor man fell silent.
I visited The Wing @ Hong Kong International Airport for the first time. This is the First Class Lounge which was designed by Foster + Partners (a world-renowned architect and design firm based in London) and recently completed its renovations just early this year.
The Wing originally has open ceilings and unobstructed views since 1998, which have remained its trademark. The new facelift it just underwent includes contemporary and refreshing elements set to re-establish The Wing as one of the best airport lounges in the world.
Well, they definitely can’t go wrong with The Champange Bar.
Specially crafted by Marzorati Ronchetti of Italy, the bar offers a selection of free flow champagne.
My luck seems to be that every time i’m in a first class lounge with the best wines and champagnes at my disposal, i’m too hungover to have any -_-
The luminous wall that is the First Class Reception Wall is made of Venetian glass fins handcrafted by Fabbian of Italy to create an abstract and contemporary interpretation of bamboo silhouettes. I totally see it!
Reflective black glass walls and “Nero Marquina” black marble floors are accentuated by crisp white marble and natural Eucaluptus wood walls for a premium and comfortable environment.
The Cabana and Shower Suites are one of the classic features of The Wing.
Made of natural Travertine stone complemented by wooden floors, each cabana has a spacious shower, full-sized bath and comfortable day bed – making it the perfect private sanctuary for passengers before a flight. Besides the five cabanas, there are also 12 luxury shower suites for those who just want to freshen up.
The Haven is an iconic feature of The Wing’s First Class Lounge that has expanded into twice its original capacity.
Hand-carved white Carrara marble walls set the stage for a delectable buffet counter that consists of appetizers, Asian and Western dishes, and delicious desserts. Above it (not seen in pic) is a contrasting decorative burgundy silk wall that’s specially woven in Belgium out of high quality silk (of course).
When i was in school, i remember reading through my friend’s Pendidikan Islam book on a few signs on when the end is nigh. It was so fascinating that i remembered it all these years till now… One line said how girls will look like boys and boys will look like girls (hello androgyny). And another point was how time would fly by so fast, that you wouldn’t even notice it. (If i’m getting any of these wrong, please correct me, but i’m so sure cos i read that column a few times :p)
It’s crazy but time does seem to be flying by faster and faster as the years go by. Someone said it’s because we’re getting older, and more things to do makes time seem short. I know i can’t slow time down… but i’ve been trying to ENSURE that i put aside time to do things i want to, besides working. Like Clem time, reading time, time to see my parents, time with my girl friends, holiday time, me time… Erh just writing that down put me into perspective why there never seems to be enough time. -_-
It’s okay, Oct-Dec are the BUSIEST months in the year for me, so i’m gonna reap as much as i can 😀

We had to pretend it was already Christmas and i did kinda FEEL it cos Yishyene just told me this morn she’s gonna join me in Bordeaux with Clem’s family for NYE! YAY!!!! PARTY TIME!!!!

Last Friday night i went for the launch of Sephora in Sunway Pyramid!
There were dancers and acrobatic performances at the main entrance of Pyramid, before all the guests were ushered down a long black carpet to lead us all the way to the new store, where this dude (apparently their IT guy) was raving on the counter, champagne was still flowing, and everyone went into a shopping frenzy cos we got vouchers that we had to spend that night. Luckily the store is so big… so there was so much space for EVERYONE. But still quite crazy. I didn’t even get to walk into every aisle.
Patty & i. I’m wearing a knit lips set from my store. Jia Wei got a nice vid of us laughing… and i was like “Oh my god, so tak maintain laughing like that…”
