when i went there for Art For Grabs with TigerJoe.
he tried slowing down the car for me to take a picture,
exclaiming he’s trying best he could.

“Oh, i know you are, don’t worry, i try taking pictures of the sky while i’m driving all the time too.”
“0_- *prepares to start nagging*”

Later that night, i looked up to see a pretty bright night
of whispery clouds and screaming moon

I wish leaf bugs lived in my garden

Downstairs, i saw a shop selling insects impaled (it’s true, they’re impaled! tho the pins are tiny, but STILL! IMPALED I SAY) and framed.
Not a fan of that.
Though i like looking at the insects and butterflies, i would never buy them.
Hmph.

Anyway, saw this leaf insect and got rather excited

“Leaf bug!” i yelped and tugged at TigerJoe, “Remember? From Horton Hears A Who? Leaf bug!!!”

I love Horton Hears A Who

The Burrow that was on the Top Floor

Last week i dragged PassedOutBen to check out this sneaker shop in Subang called MNEP The Burrow
It may be called the Burrow but it was on the top floor above Starbucks across Metropolitan college
aam_15

There was a lot of Supreme stuff for guys, some cheaper stuff for guys and girls, and a bar.

 :xlaughing:

Walked out with a checkered jacket, graphic T and a CD (damn i wanna link it but i left it in the car) that’s quite emo and i like emo songs to pout to when i’m alone sometimes

Snapped a picture of PassedOutBen.
I swear he looks like he’s saying:

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009 – Finals This Friday

Comments (9) Sponsored Post

Online reality show Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009 is coming to an end!
Votes are still being received till this Thursday 14th May so it’s not too late for you to vote for your favourite Malaysian Dreamgirl.

I’m going to start this (long) post with the four girls who were left as of a week ago

(Titles of photoshoots are all bolded and underlined)

That Special Day

Pinky, Ming, Juanita and Dawn were asked to pose with the Chevrolet as if it were their newlywed husband.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky did a nice job of holding her pain (as Elaine mentioned) and posing uncomfortably on the car.
The flow of her dress and her body language would make me think she’s leaning on her man.
I’m trying not to imagine how it would look like if it were Ah Fai (her boyfriend that plays a rather substantial role in the show) cos that would distract me.
But i’m digressing.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Ming‘s shot was my favourite for this shoot.
She looked well and truly comfortable and lovey dovey in the pic.
You can almost imagine her stroking the car gently or something!

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita was asked to soften her shoulders after this shoot.
She looks fine in the photo, but it doesn’t reflect softness and love to me.
Makes me think this model signed a prenup for sure!

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn
‘s expression hit the comfortable + loving button here,
but i’m not in favour of her pose.
A wedding dress is meant to be flared out in exhilaration to the world,
not squished into a confined space 0_-

After that photoshoot, one girl was eliminated based on votes.

Ming was sent home at the final elimination, you can read more about it here,
or watch Episode 21 here.

I was sorry to see her go, as i liked her style above all the other girls.
I liked the starry top she wore in the Incredible Me challenge,
and recognised the Kate Moss for Topshop paisley dress she wore to Sunway Lagoon
(if i’m not mistaken!)
She took an obvious interest to fashion and studied poses, to her advantage in the competition.

We wrote about her twice on Tongue in Chic here.
You can check out her personal blog here.

And Then There Were Three.

Well who would’ve thought that the final 3 would be Pinky, Juanita and Dawn?

At the start of the competition, i really fancied Farah and Natasha.
I think Farah’s got such a lawar face,
and Natasha was so photogenic in front of the camera (plus point for the excellent Intel ad she did)

But let’s concentrate on the final three, shall we.
I’m going to start from one of their earliest shoots in the competition,
right till the end.

And for each shoot, i’ll grade them in order of preference.
I.e. 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice.
(This is just my opinion so don’t get emo -_-)

Elaine’s Workshop

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – safe pose, sweet and average.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – really do not like this pose. Sorry, but first thought was a jungle animal.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – Better than the other two, but i never was fond of the lift-arm-up-ie-karaoke-video pose.

Placing: Dawn, Pinky, Juanita

But it was their first shoot, moving on!

Incredible Me

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – looks sexy and comfortable here. Nice sharp angle too.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – the contours of her body look amazing here, but she somehow looks stiff and uncomfortable.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – being her bubbly self with a hint of cheekiness.

Placing: Dawn, Pinky, Juanita

So Beautilicious

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – looks like an absolute DOLL here.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – should’ve opened her eyes a bit bigger maybe, she looks stoned, and this unfortunately wasn’t her best angle.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – Don’t like this angle at all. Eyes don’t look balanced, and i notice the teeth too much.

Placing: Pinky, Juanita, Dawn

Intimate Wacoal

This is a tough one, i thought they all looked professional and gorgeous here.
Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – decent pose, but may not have the best assets for a lingerie shoot. I’m liking the confident pose tho.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – makes me want to buy the lingerie in belief i will look like that.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – timid pose, with nice look-into-my-Bambi-eyes expression.

Placing: Juanita, Pinky, Dawn

Pavilion

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – nice poses of different variations overall.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – nice poses too, but looking at them all together makes me think of the word ‘stiff’ once again.
Though on second look, two other words that come to mind are – “working it”ย   :xhappy:

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – her dancing history puts her above the other girls and it goes with the dress somehow.
I think “ballerina couture”

Placing: Dawn, Pinky, Juanita

Bella Lifestyle

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – i think she looks really nice and natural here.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – looks relaxed and manages to elongate her body.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – looks most at ease here. She won this challenge.
Have to commend her for being able to smile like that in the hot sun.
Last time i tried it i cried my make up off.

Placing: Dawn, Pinky, Juanita

Wella Inspiration

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky
almost getting the high fashion look.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – simply. fierce. which is what she’s good at!

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – sorry but the haircut did you real injustice this time.

Placing: Juanita, Pinky, Dawn

Redbull Challenge

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – she tried, but she looks like a tad feeble (i feel her leg isn’t kicked high enough) and you could still snatch her handbag if you tried.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – i like the fists and arm placement, feet could be better but i do think of Thundercats or something.
She means some Redbull business that’s for sure.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – again, her dancing background comes into advantage.
Cannot find fault with the finger/hand/feet pose.

Placing: Juanita, Dawn, Pinky

Marie France Bodyline

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – aiyo i don’t know what happened to Pinky here.
I swear this is how i pose when i wait at an event to start sometimes.
Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – not mind-blowing. And i think the clothes did not help.
Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – slightly playful, and definitely better than the other two.

Placing: Dawn, Juanita, Pinky

Miss Incredible

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – she won this challenge for looking so natural.
I like that i looks like there was movement involved.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – i get the whole top of the castle pose which is apt,
but the hands-on-hips pose reminds me too much of the challenge just before.
At least she’s smiling! Yay! Finally!

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – I didn’t like the shot at first when i saw it in the episode,
but here i like the angles she’s playing with,
and how she looks like she’s creeping up playfully on someone.
Placing: Pinky, Dawn, Juanita

Go Safari
The last challenge of the show, the girls were asked to pose with a snake.

Pinky reacted rather hysterically. Scratch that, she reacted VERY hysterically – crying and screaming.
The whole time i was thinking ‘poor snake!’
But i at least she got the pictures taken (tears being wiped in between make up) despite her utter fear.

Funniest was when she called her boyfriend Ah Fai to tell him about it and he retorted,

“Why you so scared? You always play with the snake mar… a lot of the snake you play.”

LOL
Pinky shrieked that this snake was very big and hairy.

SUPER LOL!

Since when did the reptile become hairy?
Maybe she’s mixing her snakes up.

Her boyfriend had the cheek to ask her, “Bigger than me?”

I’m sorry, i couldn’t stop laughing watching it.
So salah can die the conversation.
Then he called her a crybaby aiyo.
Funny la they two.

Anyway, the pictures!

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Pinky – at least she didn’t back out, bravo!

To vote for Pinky, send <DREAM 10> to 33001

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Dawn – nice how she stretched out her leg, seems to go with the snake’s length.

To vote for Dawn, send <DREAM 02> to 33001

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009

Juanita – was said to be an extreme pro at the shoot, handling the snake and posing with it confidently.
Too confidently perhaps, that the snake sneezed.
Seriously, i thought it was in attack mode.
I’m not scared of snakes, but i swear if a snake sneezed while it was on me like that,
i might’ve flung it off me in half a second, no matter how much i love living things!

To vote for Juanita, send <DREAM 05> to 33001

Votes received between 5 May 2009 โ€“ 14 May 2009 (10 days) ony. The model with the highest SMS votes for this 10-day period will be the next Malaysian Dreamgirl. Voting lines are open 24×7, so vote as many times as you like whenever you like.

Overall, i think it’s a contest between Dawn and Juanita for the Malaysian Dreamgirl 2009 title.
I much prefer Dawn’s poses, but Juanita’s fierce factor, facial features, speaking ability and great body give her an upperhand.

The Malaysian Dreamgirl Finals are taking place this
Friday 15th May 2009
@ The Curve, Concourse Area
7pm onwards

and laughing like a deranged monkey :xwhatevah:
Scowling next to me is DidiBuli (the one you don’t want to fuck with)

Bling & Ash

Spent a whole Friday (thattt public holiday) hanging out with MilcahG
Saw how she enthusiastically blinged up her ashtray and lighter
 :xsurprised:

bling-a-bling

Thing about hanging out with Milcah is you really don’t know what/where/who are plans for the night

I ended up at the AIM rehearsals at PWTC waiting for her French dancer friends
Super random right

And bumped into my dearest ButtercupSharon rehearsing giving out some award
buttercup!

leopard print tube top; mng
electric blue mesh top; nike *sponsored*
coral necklace; vincci
leggings; thailand
high tops; nike *sponsored*

The Nike people were really nice to let me choose which kicks i like best
And THESE won hands down.

new kicks

Can’t get enough of the fuchsia soles and fluro green accents
Already worn them 4 times this week
And my high heels are feeling rather neglected due to a newcomer
in Joyce’s Shoe Cupboard

The Difference Between NickIsTaller & i

is rather vast

he’s tall, i’m short
he does IT, i’m in media
he’s more responsible, i’m absolutely flighty
he likes staying at home, i like being out
he gives my parents peace that one of their children is more stable,
i give them heart attacks

another obvious difference is how we treat our cars
he spends hours a week on his
i don’t even wash mine (Daddy or he does :p)

And many-a time when i’m walking in and out of the house
he’s doing yet something else to it
Rims la, window la, body paint la, lights la
ALWAYS something

Guess what he’s doing here?

gila free
Sound-proofing it.

 :xshocked: :xwhatevah:

Oh well
Nothing lasts forever

I got you five years ago as a present
And never has a present got me thanking its giver
Time and time again
For how much satisfaction and joy it’s given me

I know i’ve been neglecting you
Especially since i’ve got a boyfriend
But nevertheless i never forgot about you!

You just died today

And even changing the batteries couldn’t save you

Bye bye bunny

Going With The Flow, And Loving Your Curves

Comments (2) Fashion, Sponsored Post

If you’ve read my Daily Dress posts before, you might have got the gist that i dress:
1. pretty much 10 minutes before i’m out the door
2. according to my mood/event for the day/my body shape

Someone (okay more than one person) asked me how i throw things on in such a jiffy and still look like i spend time putting it together.
And how come i never wear anything twice.

Well i’m going to be giving you a few idiot-proof (also lazy-proofย   :xwinky: ) formulas that i use.
And also how i cheat into *looking* like i never wear anything twice.
(Come on la, how to afford like that -_-)

First of all, you MUST have basics.
Things like tank tops/long flowy tops/jeans/leggings/Ts; in black/white/grey and other monotone colours.
Treat those as your base to throw on other things like scarves and accessories to change your look and combinations constantly.

Pieces like tank tops and leggings are those you can find anywhere,
from high street stores to night markets,
depending on the cut/quality you prefer, and the price you’d go for.

DarlingDhanya wearing my Levi’s jeans in Langkawi

Jeans, on the other hand, is something that you have to invest in.
Once you find a pair that suits you, you can stick with it for life.

The first pair of jeans i ever owned was a pair of Levi’sยฎ
And despite having recyled my wardrobe a few times, that pair of jeans is still with me!
(With addition of more pairs of courseย   :xwinky: )

Just last January, Levi’sยฎ launched a new range of jeans for women called Levi’sยฎ Curves,
especially designed for girls who embrace their shapely figure.

What’s special about these jeans is the cut – drafted to hold more booty,
with smaller pockets that are strategically placed to make your bum look perkier!

I’m all for a pair of jeans that makes my bum look better

 :xlaughing:

Here’s how i dress my Levi’sยฎ Curves up in my 10-minute Manner.

1. Throw on printed top over basic bottom.

Here i throw on an animal print top i got for RM2.50 in Johore,
pulled on some peep-toe boots,
threw on a long necklace,
slipped on a studded leather bangle,
and wala!

2. Throw on another basic over basic.

Here, i use my favourite long white top, which is easy enough.

To make it interesting,
load on the accessories,
or throw on a vest.

This time i added on a sleeveless long top but left it unbuttoned.
and cinched everything with a belt (because i felt it was too flowy)

3. Layer a top over another.

Sometimes you impulsively buy a top that needs something to go with it…
or is that just me :p

I have a satin singlet on underneath which is too sexy to wear to work
So i hunt for something to go with it,
and ended up with this crop top (which couldn’t have gone alone anyway, well, i wouldn’t!)

4. Use a scarf.

Oh, my favourite trick.
Which is why i buy so many scarves.
They’re cheaper than buying a new top, but can be used so many ways!
(tie around neck/head/bag, or bring to holidays to decorate place up :p)

So what i’d do is wear a basic top and bottom, and add a coloured scarf,
which sometimes i’d wrap around a necklace to give it form of some sort.

5. Use jackets/long sleeves.

I haven’t even worn this jacket out yet
Am thinking it’d be great airport wear,
or a night out partying where it looks nice when going off shoulder (without flashing)

So there you have it, 5 looks that i threw on in 3 mins each time (cos my brother had to wait to take each picture >.<) and all without changing out of my Levi’sยฎ Curves jeans!
See what i mean about having a pair of jeans that fits you right!

Levi’sยฎ Curves comes inย  slim, straight, or boot-cut; and is available in both stretch and non-stretch versions.
You also get to choose from worn-in denim in mid finish, to darker denim.

In Levi’sยฎ stores nowย   :xwinky:
