I think my favourite part of Urbanscapes this year were the balloons!
Okay, and because i’m working, i didn’t get to enjoy all the performances and movie screenings you guys get to!
I’m pretty chuffed i didn’t blow as much cash on shopping as i did last year
Last year’s damage was RM800 (i have no idea how that happened)
This year i maintained and spent about RM250
i grew up listening to all his songs cos Daddy has most of his albums
i memorized all the lyrics
i imitated the dance moves when nobody was watching
i watched the videos on LD so many times i knew which scene would come next
never knew i could feel this way about a celebrity passing away
my favourite song of all time is Man In The Mirror
would listen to it in Bali and shout it out with RowdyRudy
it’s on my morning playlist while getting ready for work
Trust my friend
to have a brill idea
to start a blog dedicated to alcohol
and have a launch
(and who’s heard of a blog having a launch in KL?!)
and get everyone who goes to it, drunk
cos
i had kelapa rock
and vodka something (i say ‘something’ cos i sat here with my mouth open, thinking what the HECK did i have?? for a really long time)
absinthe (with a bit of water and they say i cheated, but HELL how can anyone cheat when the damn bottle reads 69%?!)
and almost lost the plot…
But i stayed strong!
So i left with Aps and Kang (ok, so they were temaning me)
And we had lok lok (goddamn, i love the fishballs that are really light, and see ham woohoo!)
before i proudly walked to my car
glad to make it out alive
Cos SERIOUSLY
IT WAS DAMN HARD TO GET OUT
Inspiring conversations
Not too crowded
Excessive alcohol
I LOVED TONIGHT!
And because i’m quite tipsy right now (plus i’m sleeping early cos i have to go on radio trow)
I have to say to Deep:
Dude. Way to go with your launch and making everyone gone man.
Danger danger!
*Thanks to Richemonde, whom i heard sponsored the alco *woot*
June 25, 2009Comments Off on The week feels backwardsDailydress Like
Do you get that feeling like sometimes, it doesn’t *feel* like it’s meant to be that particular day?
.
i.e.
On Friday, i felt like it was Saturday and didn’t feel right being in the office
.
On Tuesday, it felt like Thursday instead
Not to mention, i think June flew by awfully fast
More than usual!
It’s like the bookmark in my moleskine is still in the first week of June
despite me turning it to the 4th week
it keeps magically going back
.
KL’s 12-hour creative arts festival is back this Saturday and the whole office has been in slight chaos over it the whole week
People we don’t know traipsing in for meetings,
Colleagues we don’t usually hear cursing, swearing till the rest of us slunk in our seats, quiet
Damn excited, though from last year’s experience, we know we’re going to be DEAD to the world the day after
Cos it’s 12 hours straight and we have to be there much earlier and leave later
I reckon i’m going to be at KL Pac for at least 16 hours
For only RM35,
you get to venture into different areas like:
ClaudiaOnCrack counted there will be 134 vendors.
134.
Gila ok.
BRING YOUR CLOTHES!
Yeah, you must be wondering why i’m suddenly highlighting that.
Reason being, if you have clothes that are still pretty nice,
but you don’t wear them anymore,
and they’re too party-party/fashionable to donate,
donate it to Chic Charity!
All the clothes will be sold on that day
with ALL proceeds going to WAO.
• Come dressed in your fun, colourful and wacky best– Let’s add to the positive vibes of Urbanscapes!
• Carpool, take public transport or our regular shuttle vans– Apart from doing your part for the environment, it would also save you the headache of finding parking at the festival site. Parking is available on-site but are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. For more transportation details, click here.
• Put on a show!– If you feel like contributing to the many different things going on, feel free to. Bring along a guitar, a harmonica or just yourself, and “perform” wherever!
• Support the festival and our vendors – Putting a festival like Urbanscapes together takes more than just blood, sweat and tears. It also needs lots of financial support. The financial support from our great partners only go so far. Help us make Urbanscapes a part of your annual calendar every year by purchasing a ticket and supporting the numerous vendors and food & beverage providers.
• Document the fest – We want to capture the sounds, colour, mood and excitement of Urbanscapes in real-time, and we are going to need your help by twittering, videoing and snapping away throughout the day. Photo and twitter feeds will be broadcasted in real-time on our official site (for those who can’t make it, this would be the next best thing to being there) and at various spots throughout the site.
• Recycle– Do your part by separating your trash at the various recycling bins throughout the festival site.

Warren was briefing Claudia and i on where we’ll be and the volunteers we’ll have for TiC
I studied the map, “At least we’re right next to the beer!” Claudia:Oh really? Yay! Warren: *mutter*mutter* How do you guys know where the beer is… Me: I’m guessing from the map..?
Today, he went around giving all the Freeform staff their access tags and wristbands.
As Warren sat back down, Claudia went, “Hey, is it okay if we decorate our tags?”
Warren: No…
Claudia: No, as in, no we can’t?
Me *quietly looking up*: Oops…
Mine’s the one on the right
Claudia got carried away with hers on the left -_-
It would have been worse if i didn’t dissuade her from doodling further till the words couldn’t be seen.
And i don’t know why we both chose Ariel when there was Jasmine, Belle, Aurora and Cinderella on the sticker sheets.
