Today was a really happy day
And there was no particular reason
Just a gel of all these little moments throughout the day that rolled into one big happy fluff ball
This is how my day went:
I didn’t wake up late, hoorah!
Got to work early.
I was the first to get at the fruit platter! Freeform has a daily fruit platter which we help ourselves to
And for once, i was first one at it,
and there was mango and papaya!
As SarChan puts it, fruit platter day with mango is fruit lottery day
Work was manageable, with enough stress levels to bring me to an enjoyable adrenaline high,
but not so bad that i felt i wanted to kill myself
This may have contributed to the fact that marketing mangaer and director were both on leave
which equals to less emails for me to face
and more time to dedicate to editing and writers
So yay for me when marketing people are on leave!
Got a call about an ad campaign for KBF with decent sum
I asked whether client has signed yet
They said no
So i said, “eh… no action till they sign.”
They said, “of couse, will let you know.”
One hour later, client has signed contract Nuffnang happy
I’m happy!
I forgot my moleskine at home
and really felt like i forgot my brain
So during lunch hour i went back to get it
And had a great fish curry lunch at home alone
Think there is not much difference,
cos i’m still logged on to website and editing/emailing while eating
Guest it’s change of scene that does it!
Head back to work after 45 minutes
Very efficient of me and i’m proud of myself
Work is busy, barely have time to watch one YouTube vid i wanted to
But happily do stuff till 8:30pm
Meet PassedOutBen for drinks at Boathouse
I felt like having oysters so badly
Succumbed and ordered half dozen for RM33
BEST thing is that POB hates oysters!
So i don’t have to share!
Sorry (no i’m not) but i’m a real stingy bitch when it comes to oysters
I sit there and happily stare at them “Don’t you want to eat?” asks POB “Yes…” “Staring and enjoying it first right.” “Delayed gratification yo.”
“Psycho.”
Gosh the oysters were GREAT.
Totally boosted my mood even further, along with 2 pints of Guinness.
Bumped into DreamerCyn and SueThePixie there
So i got more hugs
Came home, showered,
listened to The Submarines while playing with my hula hoop
And here i am
Didn’t seem like such an outstanding day now when i read back
But to me it was!
MTV World Stage last Saturday was a flurry for some people
Tickets weren’t for sale, and i couldn’t believe how one guy even tried selling his off online for RM450 I wonder whether anyone bought it
RowdyRudy, moi, and Tianna on the way
The turn up was pretty amazing,
and VERY responsive as well,
I could see people from in front of the stage till all the way at the back waving their arms
Unfortunately, a lot of us in the Platinum area felt otherwise :p
This was probably due to:
1. No alcohol
2. We weren’t very into those bands
3. Watching NIN a few days before made everything after pale in comparison
I mean, seriously, have you ever seen Alet lie down on a table to rest before?!
We stuck around hoping the after party @ MOS would be better
Freeflow of alco helped, obviously
Gave AzwinAndy lots of shit for being a superstar,
and having a silver tag on that allowed him to walk in thru a different entrance to the after party
While the rest of us looked on forlornly like loOsers
I hate Kenny Sia cos he’s in Copenhagen right now
And *i* want to be there!
me in sequinned CK top cinched with mummy’s belt,
DidiBuli cleaned up good by MaintainMing,
SarChan (also styled by MM i think)
Spot the maintain one.
SarChan looks good here.
As for me, i can hear Miss J‘s voice going, “Girl, you ain’t got no neck?”
And i can see myself reply: I’m sorry. I have failed you.
(I’m obviously watching waaay too much ANTM when i start imagining conversations like this)
I’m pretty sure SueOkToAlcoAnn has the same lightning bolt thing as MaintainMing…
PrettyAaron
DidiBuli doing the Ming pose to a T!
Dunno la, the music was quite bad in MOS
Even the alcohol couldn’t save our party mode
So we left at about 2am and kinda wished we didn’t go out that night
>.<

Gap 1969 Premium Jeans launched today, check out the video below a pretty in-depth explanation on the cut and fit.
I think i’d go for the first pair… Hmm
Judging from last year’s major Artistry event,
everyone who had been to it was gearing to go again,
and those who didn’t go, heard about it and wanted to.
With performances from major artistes like
Fatman Scoop, Ying Yang Twins, DJ Camilo,
Dominique Tsai, Homies, DJ Milinka,
Mr Sam, One Buck Short, and Lumisense,
I knew it was going to be insanely packed as people were fighting to go
to watch at least one of those acts,
if not all / knowing it’ll be one of the biggest parties of the year!
I went with RowdyRudy and his sister Tianna,
cos Rudy had VIP parking,
and then at least there’d be 3 of us to drive one car home!
Fatman Scoop with entourage arriving on the red carpet
Held at Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena,
the venue was HUGE and elaborately done up.
Upon walking in, there was a huge island bar which was the Hennessy VSOP Mixing Experience Booth
Guests could sample Hennessy long drinks
– Hennessy V.S.O.P with apple juice, with ginger ale, soda, ice cream soda and coke.
My favourite was the one with apple juice!
Check out all the empty shot glasses!
There were a few Music Mixing Experience Booths –
a DJ Console in a miniature club environment
with disco ball and bling decor to make it look like you could have own personal party in there
Here, guests could experiment with mixing music (you can even choose your genre to work with!)
with a female DJ to guide you.
Sorry for the bad shots, just so happened when i was there,
there were so many people trying it out while having vids/pix taken!
I have to say i was stunned by the massive + gorgeous chandeliers they had hanging from the ceiling
Just compare how small the ppl are standing below it!
Of course, first thing we did was to get some Hennessy long drinks from the bar
Steph’s wearing this pretty cool fringe dress her sister Jane bought from Urbanscapes
I’m wearing:
sequin dress; for RM20 at platinum mall, bkk
blue throwover; ck
chain harness; custom made from norwegian wood
Then Dominique Tsai came on and she’s HOT
She was just wearing a simple T-shirt and shorts but she was seriously hot.
“Wave your arms in the air!” she yelled on stage
And Rudy started waving his arms like mad. “I don’t care man. She’s so hot, whatever she wants me to do, i’m gonna do it!”
Dik was in crutches (which i borrowed) and it was really funny (and a story i’ll save for another day!)
What happened (for him to need a crutch) was that Dax and him got attacked by two men with a parang at a petrol station
True and not-so-funny story.
Be careful out there, everyone!
We left when everything was over,
and Hennessy ppl were really nice to pass mineral water to EVERYONE who walked out the door
Tianna’s feet hurt so Rudy gave her a piggyback to the car
These origami pendants are pretty cute, but going for SGD14
Ha…. skali I spill a drink on it then gone, no thanks
I was really drawn to these self-designed and made-to-order jewelry from Soliloquy
The shapes are cut from mirror or plastic, and some mixed with leather pieces
Whatmore shipping to KL was free, so i ordered one
(the triangular one, second from left, for SGD18)
The very adorable Beverly Bee
Doesn’t her name sound derived from a superhero comic?
ala Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Peter Parker
Keanu
Racheal from TiC was there covering it
You can read her post here.
Isaac, whose girlfriend Celine makes the gorgeous headbands at Beautiful Disaster
SpankyCammy hassled this poor guy called Kang
who makes these amazing accessories from chain links and other materials.
Check out his blog! Seriously very cool shit.
We each bought a cuff he makes out of melting vinyl record pieces.
My favourite accessory of the month for sure and i’ve been wearing it incessantly since!
VinceSkyrocker wasn’t a happy camper when we were checking in to our flight to Singapore
Cos if we wanted to check in a bag on to the plane, it would cost RM50 per KG
RM50 per kg?!
Siao ar.
Then my bag would cost more than my damn flight ticket.
Or all of us put together.
Dunno la.
He called Jetstar in a fury at 8 in the morning,
and they said that because he didn’t opt for checking in a bag for a certain amount online (considerably less),
he couldn’t change anything.
-_-
So we shifted particular liquids from all our bags to one,
and charged that bag for RM100 (or was it RM150?) to check in.
SpankyCammy slumber only opened her bag to switch things,
and went, “oops!”
Cos her Sponge Bob Spongee was on top
…
I was thinking to myself, “Manatau if i’m her staff, see a toy on the top of her luggage hahaha!”
Happy Happy SpankyCammy
(we took pix in Sg after lunch like the tourists we are)
I was really taken aback to see SO many Singaporeans wear red last Sunday
because it’s their National Day
Coincidentally, Cammy wore red too.
At least it was easier for us to spot out
who to ask direction from,
while walking to the Singapore Art Musuem
where Flea-tique was being held
This is me trying to look cool
shirt i cut up from bkk,
shorts from kitschen,
bag from YC,
sports bra from nike,
aviators – rayban,
drink from, erm, mosburger
OK i’m very fail
cos i’m really really sleepy and tired
so i’m going to continue this tomorrow
I need to shower
I had a long day
Had to catch up with heaps of emails upon getting back to KL
damn a lot of editing
don’t even ask me about invoices and claims which i’ve yet to conquer
And i’ve got an event trow morning
Summore i spent a bit longer than expected out drinking with Vince and Andrew @ Somo
