I’m doing some stuff at the pc while waiting for family lunch,
when i saw Jess’ tweet on a rainbow around the sun.
Me being me,
i went woo hoo really!?
and ran out to see!
Daddy was busy mowing the back garden,
and questioned what i was trying to do
staring up in the sky
in the hot sunshine
like the mad child
he’s already used to.
I ran back in,
grabbed my camera,
and snapped a picture
to show him.
I showed Mummy too.
“Look! There’s a rainbow around the sun!” “Haiyaaa it’s a corona la, the sort of thing you can usually see during a solar eclipse. It’s not a rainbow la, spoil your eyes only you look at it!!”
:p
When i looked at the uploaded pix,
i do see some colour tho,
so i thought I DON’T CARE IT’S A RAINBOW TO MEEEE
Then later she looked at the picture again,
and corrected herself saying it’s a chromosphere aka colour sphere
Still pretty cool huh!
There’s some Sunday Science for you!
The past week has been awfully busy,
dedicating all my daytime to our first Leftblock project.
And nighttime for events, blogging and boyfriend.
Chelle and Jac said they don’t understand how i can have the energy to go for events,
cos by evening we’re so tired we don’t talk in the car,
or almost on the floor from exhaustion.
Poor boyfriend is being denied my company over the weekend.
“Where are you going?!” *saturday morning* “Chelle’s place… we gotta work on it all weekend.”
“It’s SATURDAY!” “I knowwww but we need to do this!”
“Take MC!” “-_-“
I love all the DIY-ing activity tho.
I wake up feeling super excited with all the things to do!
Running around town buying materials was tiring,
but the actual sitting down and putting things together is superfun.
I found some massive stickers in a wholesale shop,
and bought them to add to my sticker collection on my car ceiling.
Yes, i stick Disney and cartoon stickers in my car. (this is what happens when a kid earns enough $ to buy a car)
It helps me relax when i look up at it in a jam (regardless a friend saying i look like an idiot from outside)
And when friends sit in my car, they get to stick stickers on the roof!
It’s amazing how many ppl get totally caught up with plastering dinosaurs, little animals and random objects on a car ceiling
The two girls helped me stick on the rainbow and clouds while we were caught in a traffic jam.
After that Chelle passed out.
Like a little kid playing, then Zzzz.
We’re using Chelle’s TV room as our workspace,
and it’s a holy fashion mess of
clothes, accessories, ribbon, tape, thread, boxes, shoelaces,
and other scraps.
Chelle’s twin nephew and niece dropped by yesterday afternoon,
and Jac styled them up so they could sing a song (Old Macdonald haha) for us
bicycle glasses; i got from Krabi, cool huh!
plastic chain; daiso
ties; Chelle picked out from Kota Raya
Focusing on quality fabric and utilitarian tailoring,
Ben Wu himself is inspired by his earlier studies on architecture
and delves into re-morphing layers, structures and lines.
Raoul is another brand that i initially thought was from somewhere in the West.
I love how every season they manage to be on trend (now they’ve got nudes, greys, cuffed shorts, sheers, bell sleeves)
yet still have their distinct image intact.
All their pieces always seem classy and of high quality to me,
and i’ve never sold / thrown away a single of my Raoul pieces!
Even if i don’t spend money
(which is pretty much impossible there, too much temptation to bear!)
I can do with people-watching and observing how Singaporeans dress,
especially at clubs, flea markets,
even afternoons on Orchard Street.
They’re always more daring and quirky than Malaysians.
I’m not saying that Malaysians don’t know how to dress up,
we are getting better and better…
But when it comes to people count,
you CANNOT DENY that Singaporeans have more girls and guys on the streets
who take the effort and spend the $ on fashion.
Which brings me to an upcoming event
that i’m SUPER EXCITED about attending
(and will add to more posts on Stuff I’ve Done In Singapore)
I can feel you getting excited.
Cos even *i* was feeling excited (-_-) reading it earlier!

Earlier this year, Jacinta, Chelle and i were being quite secretive
(tho we met up at not-so-secretive F&B outlets -_-)
Each of us had free time on our hands,
and wanted to work together on fashion projects aimed at:
– raising the profile of young designers
– providing cool designs for those who’d appreciate it, ourselves included
We were passionate about it.
We had all these ideas.
We each have our fortes.
We just want to do this for fun.
Which is how this company came to be:
Some friends in the media industry knew we were up to something,
and kept on questioning us.
But we really weren’t ready to tell anyone about it yet.
The big project we’re working on will take place in July.
However, next week sees our debut of sorts,
in an event that we’re doing for Nike Sportswear.
Jac + Chelle picking Materials To Start A Sweatshop
We’re not saying much for now, except that it’s gonna be MAJOR.
Entrance to the event is via invite only,
buti’ll be giving away 3 pairs of invites to 3 readers
So each winner can bring a friend
[Guest list is extremely tight after allocation for media,
Nike’s guests/personalities, and Invite Giveaways on various blogs,
so even if you’re my friend, i really can’t throw you on the list.
So please don’t come ask me last minute.]
So just email in your details, and i’ll randomly pick 3 winners fairly.
Deadline: 19th April Monday 12 Noon
Oh and another thing, this event is for girls, strictly aged 18 and above. I guess we might see some guys there from the media / fashion / entertainment industry tho
