Be strong Egypt…

Comments (1) Ugh

I know this is not suitable CNY materiel.
But we cannot ignore what just happened four hours ago in Tahrir Square in Cairo.

They say the people were unarmed while protesting,
with thugs representing the State (police badges found on them)
carrying weapons and attacking civilians.

There are protests for the same reasons (dethroning their current president) happening in Yemen too.

All while Cyclone Yasi is about to hit Australia.

Sometimes i really wonder what  will happen to our world in 10, 20, 30 years time…

Year of the Rabbit

Comments (8) Dailydress

Took a break between work to
grab lunch and pick up a rabbit.

As i was driving down the highway
a big brown leaf was being carried by the wind
and i smiled cos it was so pretty
then i took the wrong turn off   :xwhatevah:

I must be the only person i know
to be distracted by a leaf
sehingga boleh ter-turn salah

Ate with Kubhaer at Decanter @ Bkt Damansara
I had chicken chops
He had hokkien noodles
We both had red wine
A fly decided to commit suicide in my glass

zara long skirt

i’m wearing >
polka dot top; vintage, thrifted from lah lah land
grey skirt; zara
pig jade necklace; present from aunt
elephant necklace; h&m, present from faithemai

sunnies; marc jacobs @ selfridges
shoes + bag; bimba & lola

vintage top, jade

I told Kubhaer how i was going to drop by Thomas Sabo after lunch
and get a rabbit pendant for myself
Sorta like a Chinese New Year token.

The rabbit i had my eye on looked a bit fatter in real life
and my attention wandered to
a green water lily leaf
a feather
then finally
a strange animal that has a rabbit head + ears
deer horns + webbed feet + wings

I had to stop myself from laughing at it.

So i told the shop girl, “Forget the feather. I’m getting this, it makes me laugh.”
And she laughed too.

thomas sabo pendant

He’s such a strange creature!
Like what sort of person would DESIGN something like this?!
(And ultimately, what sort of person would choose it… 0_-)

I showed it to my mum and she said, “It looks like a monster.”

 :xsad:

I WhatsApped a pic to Kubhaer and he said it looks like the rabbit from Donnie Darko
to which i strongly disagreed cos THAT rabbit was really scary!
Besides, mine wears shorts and has wings!

“I don’t care i love my rabbit!”
“It will bring you luck and joy and happiness.”
“Hey i don’t need pity rabbit love.”
“It’s really nice i like it. Maybe i need to see it in person.”
“Maybe. He said he doesn’t want to meet you now.”
“Maybe i was wrong. Maybe i’m sorry.”
“Maybe you should give him ang pow :xlaughing:
“…”

Ok so i totally lost the plot
and instead of getting a sweet white rabbit
i got this weird funny one with duck feet (i’m giggling as i type this, how can it not make you laugh!?)

Here’s a post to it being my lucky charm for the Year of the Rabbit!

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!!!

i love the smell of an impending storm

Sun Salutation

Comments (3) Nature

Went for yoga last night
and did the poses we’ve been learning so far
the Rabbit
the Warrior
the Half Moon
the Sun Salutation

Chanting the Sun Salutation
takes too much concentration
from trying to get all the pronunciation right
to divert one’s thoughts to unrelated subjects

But while performing its move
my mind wandered
(as it so easily often does)
to the act of worshiping the sun

Hey, i’m all for worshiping the sun
I’m a sun chaser remember

But it’s a welcoming break
this rain of ours
the constant downpour that everyone’s complaining about

I like it
the rain
the smell
the coolness of the air
the light drum of its drops
the lighter sprinkle of its drizzle

They say the sky is crying
Who am i to disagree

But maybe they’re tears of laughter
Maybe there’s a great big God above us
having a long satisfying laugh
because they’re so hard to come by these days

And when it does it feels oh so good

Happy Feet Massage @ Taman Seputeh

Comments (2) Spa + Beauty

A couple of months ago, CherubicCho invited me to his new massage place for a free trial,
but i turned it down then
cos i was going to France,
then settling back in KL with work and meetings, etc.

I wondered what kind of friend i was to turn down a free massage!!
So finally went to check out their new place!

It’s called Happy Feet (haha super cheesy but it’s grown on me)

Cho has taken an old school one-storey building in Taman Seputeh and changed it to a massage place that’s contemporary,
unlike most of the foot massage places you go to where you wonder whether the people rubbing your feet are legal immigrants.
(It’s true! Have you never thought that?!)

All the masseurs at Happy Feet are blind/visually impaired
and have been professionally trained by the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB),
and each have a minimum experience in massage for 5 years.
I think it’s great how the association takes them under their wing
to ensure they have skills that they can carry wherever they go.

Love how they did the place – simple and classy

For foot massages, you get a superbly comfortable chair (i tried, of course), that reclines.
Lamps can be turned off if you prefer to sleep…
…OR IF YOU WANT TO WATCH YOUR FAVOURITE DVD WHILE GETTING MASSAGED.

All the foot massage rooms come with flat screen TV and DVD player!

So you can multi-task –
1. seeing your friends
2. getting a massage together
3. while watching DVDs

Separate rooms for back massages.

The sanded-down doors remind me of the ones at Fat Spoon

One thing that irks me about massage places… are how their bathrooms are usually tiny and sometimes dodgy-looking,
so i try not to touch anything while going about my business.
Thank god THESE bathrooms are massive and CLEAN.
In fact, they’re bigger than my bathroom at home  -_-

He said it’s not as easy as he thought har har.
