Actually i’m a bit stumped as to how i should start this post.
I sat here staring at the blank wordpress screen,
went away to cook,
came back,
and still am stumped so i decided to just VOMIT out all my words in a stream of thought!
I’ve been blogging for almost 8 years,
EIGHT YEARS!
And this is the first time i’ve received a nomination of any sort for my blog.
Part of me is like WOOHOOO!!!!!
(like seriously, just being a finalist is nice enough for me!)
My competitive part is going, “Let’s try to WIN THIS THING!” And my hippie side is going, “Whatever will be will be. Chill la.”
So there’s a lot of mixed emotions!
Some people mentioned they’re confused why i’m not a finalist for the other categories,
but i think Lifestyle Blog describes KinkyBlueFairy best!
I don’t just blog about one particular subject…
i blog about LIFE.
I blog about everything i DO,
and everything i LOVE.
And to NEVER LET PEOPLE TELL YOU THAT YOU’RE TOO OLD FOR TOYS.
Or that you can’t wear a Care Bear costume out in public.
WoW that turned out to be SO MUCH longer than i intended.. -_-
8 years of blogging does churn up lots of pictures and archives!!!
If you read my blog and love it,
or think i deserve to win the Best Lifestyle Blog award, you can vote for me *HERE*
(they said they voting pages will open later today)
Voting for nominees will be open from 15th-27th November 2011.
Voters are entitled to cast one vote in every 2 hours.
(That’s a bit crazy… if you really love KinkyBlueFairy then by all means i won’t stop you from voting every two hours! )
Zee Avi’s Ghostbird album is my favourite Malaysian album this year!
Her songs are perfect for holidays and happy times and places!
New music vid from Ghostbird – The Book of Morris Johnson
I was raving about how much i liked song,
and Didi piped back, “Of course you’d like it, you’re her target market.”
-_-
Nevertheless! If you haven’t heard Zee Avi’s songs before,
YOU SO SHOULD OKAY.
She’s made Malaysia proud by touring US extensively,
and will be touring Asia this November.
Note: There are changes regarding Zee Avi’s Homecoming Tour. The Penang show has been moved forward to the 18th and no longer the 19th of November.
The show in Kuching will not be in Damai Central as mentioned earlier, it has been moved to Dewan Undangan Negeri instead.
I went to Japan last week for my company’s annual trip!
Despite all the traveling i’ve done… i’d never planned to go to Japan,
just figured it’s somewhere i’d venture to later on in life
seeing how pricey it would probably be!
Flying there is affordable, but the stuff there is slightly ouch!
For instance, this little bread bun snack cost RM7.
Although i did feel supercute eating it (like Doraemon!)
This is Brenda and i – after a 7 & 1/2-hour night flight to arrive at Nakita in the morning.
Can’t say i was feeling + looking my best.
You know how i’m such a recycling freak!
I LOVE the various recycling bins in Japan!
And this is just at some public rest stop, with the cleanest rest stop bathrooms i’ve ever stepped into!
Pretty pretty, autumn is just starting
This construction site security guy was dancing by himself…
with noone else around him!
Scho cute, i was about to dance along next to him when he stopped.
Tiny black dots are people exploring the fields to take pix
We stopped at Lake Ashi for lunch!
I’m no stranger to Jap food, as i indulge in it on a weekly basis in KL
but there were some dishes i’d never had before there (as i’d hoped for!)
me, Jacinth, Hanim, Sue, Preta
Lots more activity goes on at the lake during the summer
Went to check out the shop which sold cute stuff.
I’m not going to buy a tiny strawberry for RM40 that i’d prollie lose
so i just took pictures of it
After lunch, we were all supposed to go to some shopping outlet to contribute to the Japanese economy but some complained that our entire trip was shopping so the tour split us up into 2 groups
– those who were to continue at the shopping outlet
– those to go sightseeing in the countryside
Admit i was slightly torn at first (especially when girls in the other bus were shouting out the window why i’m not in the shopping bus) but then thought it’s true, i’m going to shop tomorrow and the day after
if anything i should keep myself AWAY from additional shopping places
anyway i’ve been to so many shopping outlets in Europe and meh they all the same after awhile
So i went for the sightseeing thing and so glad i did!!
Me + my CEO Prashant + Mt. Fuji
me + CFO Pavan + Brenda
We took a short hike up to some natural hot sulphur springs
AWH THIS LITTLE BOY WAS SO CUTE
His dad was carrying him all the way up, with me walking behind them.
I made funny faces and stuck my tongue out at the little boy for a few minutes,
and after glancing at his dad he kept on doing the same back to me too.
Caught him on cam with his tiny tongue sticking out!
Tradition is to buy eggs that are cooked black in the hot springs
and to eat 1 egg to prolong your lifespan by 7 years.
Judging by my current lifestyle, i’m all for the extra 7 years and scoffed an egg.
Japanese kids are so cute! Not ONCE did i observe a single child throwing a tantrum or crying.
Told my mom and she said maybe they were drugged -_-
I tried wasabi ice cream! Was a lot nicer than expected
After that we went to the Temple Park
I wouldn’t mind a trippy tree like this in my future garden!
*stares at Clem, take note!*
This post is so overdue but i was trying to rush it before Tokyo and tak jadi,
had so many other things to do!
Cammy & Kenny had the most beautiful wedding at Tanjong Jara Resort a couple of weeks back.
It was the perfect opportunity to get everyone in the group away on holiday thrown in with wedding.
Huge bathroom with large bathtub (i didn’t even get into -_-)
Breakfast at the resort at Di Atas the next morning was amazing.
The FOOD at Tanjong Jara is amazing, i MUST say!
Every SINGLE thing i ate there was great, and i’d rate it as the best beach hotel/resort food i’ve had in Malaysia!
I’m still craving the to-die-for prawn laksa…
Steph & Nick
At the afternoon rehearsals
Getting ready for the wedding – Cammy & Stephy
Ming did Cammy’s hair and make up wonderfully
Bridesmaids – Steph, me, Jean and Mabel
It’s my second time being a bridesmaid so everyone is commenting that it’d be my turn soon -_-
No rush, guys, i’m in no rush..!
I’m a bit scared of how much a wedding will cost -_-
C&K had a beautiful private small wedding by the beach with 70 family members and friends
This is when we were all crying, except for Mabel who’s looking good in all the wedding shots dammit
Noone expected confetti to burst while the couple had their kiss.
Steph’s face is priceless.
Just. Cannot. Give. Me. A normal photo.
Serena & Cammy
Cloyce & Champers
(all photos below by Brandon)
My Lovelies!!!
First time Cammy threw the bouquet, it fell on the ground. Fail.
Second time around Steph caught it!
Bunny ears spoiling our picture..!
Clem… -_-
Matt started getting drunk early.
Caught you on cam wiping your hands on the tablecloth!
me, Matt, Clem
Cammy took her shoes off to shake out the sand.
I quickly took out my camera.
“JOYCE.”
What… these kind of shots don’t get taken by the wedding photog… only wonderfully quick friends like me
Wedding dinner was short and sweet with only the fathers and brothers giving a speech
Nick, brother of the bride
He told us his unedited version of the speech much later,
which was also, much funnier. He should have just SAID IT.
Aps & Fai
Chelsia & Josh
I was doing bridesmaid duty of taking pix with Polaroid cam around for all guests to put into scrapbook
Li Mei & Clem
Sharon & Frederick
Nice natural shot by Brandon!
Lots happened after the dinner.. but i was too lazy to take pictures already,
i just wanted to BE in the moment and enjoy the wedding!
A disco was set up on the beach for us where everyone went crazy and dancing
Ming and i dancing on the side somewhere
So much space to jump skip and hop around!
After dancing, we were drinking at the tent,
then we just CONTINUED till there were no more tables, music or alcohol.
Matt was a hot mess… and had to be pulled out of a bush
and from walking into a tree
A bunch of us went back to our room to continue partying,
drunk Matt was coming along,
and i INSISTED that “he’s not coming into our room with his dirty sandy feet!”
So Clem babysat oh drunk one and helped him wash his feet in our bathroom…
No more pictures…having too much fun to TAKE any!
ANYWAY i’ll end the post with some of my fave pix taken by their wedding photog. – Brandon Lim!
(with special captions of my own of course ;p)
Picture supposed to be focusing on the bride,
but Ming couldn’t help striking a pose and stealing all the thunder *BOOMZ*
Possibly my favourite one of both Kenny & Cammy laughing
Cammy always wants to sleep.
Whereas Kenny always wakes up early to run errands+ clean house :p
Kenny relaxing while Cammy does the entertaining
A face i see all the time – “HMMM!”
The other girls and i always thought to ourselves that WHOEVER manages to get Cammy in the end would be a lucky bugger.
Cos she’s the most patient, loving, funny, amusing, clumsy, and beautiful girl we know.
And in the end, Kenny got her.
So hey Kenny, you are one lucky bugger.
