Playing with my Prada

Comments (6) tech

I been so involved with traveling that i never really played with the Prada by LG 3.0 phone i have with me… till this week as i’m traveling alone. Hence, lots of time to muck around with all my tech toys, sketch & write, edit photos, read, and talk to myself!

I like viewing pictures on it, as the screen of the phone is fairly large and bright. Also, i’ve spent way too much time playing around with the Image Editor, a pre-installed app on the phone.

This here is a flower pic i took in Sweden, no editing >

Then with the Image Editor, there are 19 filters to choose from that could challenge those in Instagram; like negative, mosaic, moonlight, water colour, LOTS! I don’t usually go to the app to do it, i just select my photo via my gallery and choose the ‘edit’ button from there.

This was with ’emboss’ >

Cute huh! I wouldn’t mind printing THIS out to hang on mah wall!

Besides all these filters, i can also
– make adjustments to the photo’s contrast, hue, saturation, brightness and RGB balance
– crop and rotate
– apply different borders
– and even ‘combine’ pictures, which is basically copying and pasting pictures atop each other

It’s like photoshop on a phone.

Below is with the ‘cartoon’ filter and ‘white edge’ border >

One of my favourite filters, ‘antique’ >

I was resizing these pictures on my laptop when i realized how detailed the picture is. No surprise since the camera can shoot up to 8 megapixels. (Not like this matters to me! I always tell people not to put their image res so high cos it just takes up unnecessary space in your memory, unless you like blowing pix up to print in large format.)

Pretty cool, i’m seeing things on this flower i didn’t see in person!

Aside from the fancy editing apps it comes with; the LG Prada camera has an LED flash and the essential settings to fiddle with according to your artistic preference – such as white balance, timer, tag location, ISO, scene modes, face-tracking, and most importantly, exposure settings!

Day 15: Rome to Manarola

Manarola, Cinque Terre, Italy

Oh my god. This morning was one of the worst hungover experiences I’ve gone through. It could battle the time I went for Saturday morning college classes hungover…. a decade ago. (God that sounds long when I say it like that.)

Yishyene and I went out partying till 5am, slept for 3 hours, then showered, packed and rushed to catch our 9:30am train to La Spezia. The night before, we went out at 9:30pm and tried to find this indie bar that is a 15-minute walk from our hostel but it happened to be shut for a private function. While deciding where we could go next, we sat at a nearby bar to have some beers and surf on her phone for clubs we would like. We found one that didn’t require too much walking (or so we thought) and taking the Metro (which was shut due to a strike). The waiter at the bar was really helpful, and said this club was a 5-minute walk away. We should know by now… that when Italians say a length of time/distance, you take that and multiply it by 4.

I see better skin with my Olay Regenerist!

Comments (0) Sponsored Post

I brought my Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream with me on my travels so this bottle has traveled all over France and Italy! This here’s a picture of it outside my room in Cinque Terre.

Despite looking all nice and shiny and metallic, I’m glad the packaging is so light and was so convenient to pack for traveling!

I don’t think i can go back to a cream that’s not anti-ageing, now that i’ve tried the Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Cream. Prevention is certainly better than cure, and even better when you see ACTUAL results after weeks of use.

Usually i’d refrain from posting up pictures of myself without make up on, on my blog (vain, see,) but my complexion has visibly smoothened out more after using Olay Regenerist. Just look at this picture below. It was taken when we were taking the night ferry and i had completely NO make up on. Usually i wouldn’t look this nice after lugging 23kg around, sweating and lying down on a ferry bench drenched in yellow light. But somehow it looks okay! (Unless i’ve being perasan and getting it wrong…)

There’s no editing done to the picture, and i look like i MAY be wearing make up. Pretty cool!

Also, i’ve been suntanning like never before. I’ve never spent hours and days chasing the sun on a rock or beach and just lying there. For awhile i got a bit scared, thinking of extra sun spots i’ll be attaining. But after awhile, i just thought screw it, i’m on holiday, i love being in the sun and i’m just gonna make sure i moisturize it properly with my anti-ageing cream every night when i get home!

It’s been really nourishing to my skin after being in the sun for hours, and i don’t feel it’s as dry and damaged as it should be.

I’m sad to have finished my Olay bottle on my travels… i don’t have my bit of magic potion with me anymore! I feel like it just NOURISHES my skin after i’ve treated it so badly by running around in the sun and cities all day. Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Cream helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and deep eye lines in 14 days, and works over time to reduce the volume of deep eye lines by 20%!

Below is a picture of my complexion when i was blowing bubbles in front of the Basilica in Rome last week. I was wearing very light make up, cos it’s really hot there now, and you can just SEE in the picture how smooth my skin looks 🙂

One of the best things about the product is how i think it’s great value for money. It’s not overpriced like how many anti-ageing products are, because these are targeting a different market – people who have money to throw like water >.<

The next time you pass by your local pharmacy, try picking up an Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Cream to see for yourself how well it works. If you hate it, then you know i lie. And i hate lying on my blog!

If you’ve other interesting skincare tips for me, do comment them!

Day 14: Rome

Comments (4) Italy, Rome, Travel

Wow I just read my past few days’ writing and realised what a transport disaster my trip to Italy has been so far – flight got delayed by 6 hours from Bordeaux, then I lost my stupid train ticket to Naples, then I missed my ferry from Strombroli… I’m hoping all these mishaps are just getting over with in the first week so the rest of my holiday will be PERFECT.

By the time we arrived in Rome, dumped our bags and applied lots of sunscreen to walk around Rome in 35°C heat; it was 2pm. We walked all the way from Roma Termini station to the Coliseum, through Tiber Island, then up north all the way to the Basilica of St Peter. Reason we walked so much was there was a Metro strike that day so most of the trains were shut -_-
