My current basic skincare + makeup stuff

Comments (5) Spa + Beauty

I get a lot of emails asking me what foundation/moisturizer/etc i use, so i thought i’d simply state down the products i’m using right now and why i like them.

Clockwise from top:

(white jar) Benefit Total Moisture Moisturizer – it’s a thick heavy cream promising long-term hydration which i apply at night. I may shift to something with repairing benefits for night once i’m done with this. I was using Estee Lauder’s Night Repair Serum, but Clem doesn’t like the smell and the last thing i want to do is make him back away from me -.-

(silver tube on top of box) Swiss Line CELL SHOCK Age Intelligence – This is one i really like. It’s an anti-aging serum that fights the actual cause of aging, medically known as chronic inflammation. I was telling Cammy how much i like it cos she uses Swiss Line too, and she told me an interesting story behind the product. The owner of Swiss Line was having a conversation with a plastic surgeon who brought up the topic of this particular ingredient that teaches the skin to recover. The plastic surgeon wondered why it hadn’t yet entered skincare products, as it’s used on patients after undergoing plastic surgery for their skin to regenerate faster. And the Swiss Line owner was like, “What IS this ingredient??” And that’s how Age Intelligence came to be, haha.

(pink liquid, bottle) Swiss Line WATERSHOCK Soothing Lotion – I use this as if it’s a toner (tho the line also has a purifying toner). It’s botanical, alcohol-free, counteracts fine lines and smells great. I love Swiss Line! You can buy it at Pure Energy spas but if you’re lazy to go there, you can buy it online too, they just launched www.shopswissline.com.

(little brown jar on left) Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream – i’ve had this for a couple of years… and am quite terrible at remembering to apply eye cream so i’m trying my best nowadays. I just asked Kanch what’s her favourite stuff for eyes and she said the Sisley eye mask works like magic. I trust her on this kinda thing. The girl is obsessed with eye lines.

(blue jar) Clarins HydraQuench Cream – I love the texture and smell of Clarins creams. I feel they’re really doing its job, plus it has SPF 15 so i use it only during the day, tho Cammy thinks i should apply higher SPF before any day cream (i’m too lazy. less steps the better).

Additional things i wanna say but no pix for it:
– I LOVE Rodial‘s Glam Balm. It’s also a brand that is famous for ‘lifting’ and looking like someone’s had plastic surgery but it’s all noninvasive. When i used their Glam Balm, i felt like my skin just went BOING and was more supple (i think that word is overused when talking about skincare but i’d use it for Rodial and Swiss Line).
– For facials, my absolute favourite is still at Estee Lauder. I felt like they thoroughly removed every single blackhead and my face felt so great after. Too bad they’re only in Pavilion which is kinda far for me to drive just for my face.

Next, makeup!

Clockwise from bottom middle (since i start with applying foundation)

(brown bottle) Chanel Vitalumiere Liquid Foundation – Ever since i bought this years ago to give it a go, i’ve never found another liquid foundation i love more. It’s smooth, easy to apply with fingers, magically covers up all my uneven skin tone, makes me look less hungover on those bad days, and i even use it as concealer under my eyes even tho i’m told i’m not supposed to. (I use the colour 50 Naturel and even have a fairer one for months i lose my tan!)

(compact) Chanel Eclat – I happened to get this because i wanted free makeup done for me before i went to an event last year. It’s not like i’m some Chanel make up freak. It’s really smooth tho, and i don’t mind continue using this. Previously, i used Laura Mercier. Loved the glimmery colours of that, but i found it hard to apply loose powder and i kept on getting it on people’s shoulders when i hugged them so that didn’t do it for me. Maybe i suck at loose powder or something. I’ve also tried Armani’s powder, which some make up artist told me is the best compact powder and i do love it. It’s just that i can only buy it at certain outlets and i… haven’t mustered the effort to go get it yet!

(bottom left) MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack – THE eyeliner i use. Lots of people say they love my eyeliner and how it seems to stay on all day… well this is what i use. You gotta use a good slant brush to apply it. Once i lost my first brush, got a cheap one from Sasa, and that really hurt my eyes while applying it! There IS a difference between some expensive and cheap brushes!

(grey pencil in middle) DIOR Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil – I was looking for a pencil eyeliner for days i’m too lazy to use my MAC Fluidline. I looked for years and never really found one. I’ve tried Chanel, etc. Then i saw Ee Von’s eyeliner was pretty hardy all day and asked her what she used. I got it, but i find it streaks on me slightly. Maybe i need to put in the extra effort to apply powder before it -.-

(brown pencil on top) Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil – I have eyebrow kits from other brands given to me… but i haven’t had the heart to stop using my beloved Shu pencil yet. Its tip is sharpened to a rectangular shape which makes for easy eyebrow drawing. You can’t sharpen it yourself (well you can if you’re really good) so i take it to any Shu counter every 3 months for them to do it for me. The pencil lasts me over 2 years despite using it EVERY day.

(pink square box) Benefit Sugarbomb Blush – I’ve used some cream blusher from Topshop and others, but i think i just found my favourite blush. It’s got a few shades of gold and rose so i get a sun kissed look like i just came from the beach. The brush makes it really easy to apply, and nothing spills.

(clear bottle on bottom right) Diptyque Philosykos – Oh you know how i adore Diptyque! I still use other performs like Marc Jacobs, Kenzo, Ralph Lauren, Dior, etc, when the mood hits; but if i had to choose ONE perfume to wear till the end of my days, it would be one from Diqtyque. I love Philosykos cos it reminds me of Europe and holidays and food.

OKAY! I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any advice/tips for me on awesome skincare, or makeup for lazy people (speed is key for me. i get my face ready in 15 minutes every day) let me know!

P/S: Ugh i just thought of how i forgot to include lipsticks i love… ahhh maybe next time!!! Gotta run to an event now.

Juice x Heineken Progressive Tour @ Lost Malaya, Johor

Comments (0) Alcohol, Johor, Malaysia, Party, Travel

I saw Mira tweet about going to Johor so i DMed her asking whether she’s covering Legoland too. She said, no, and that they were all going down for the Heineken x Juice party and asked me to come. So i went la.

After waking up at 6:30am and walking around Legoland till 5pm, i was seriously grimy and tired. I skipped dinner with the rest of the media group so i could rest…. and party at night! Priorities priorities. My body may not be able to take running around for so many hours, but give me a disco nap and i’ll party all night.

That night i wore a deer top from Old Blossom Box Store; and sheer polka dot top from Azorias.

Tianna and i ordered some room service at 10pm, then got ready to go out. By the time we reached at 11pm, the party was going at it already. It was packed, people were drinking and dancing. I was like, hey man, time to catch up!

Ah Xu and Mira

Xu, Ethan, and Beverly

I haven’t seen Ethan for so long..! He was the one who first invited Sarch and down to play as SalahWrong in Johor a few years back. *i found the post here!* Which is when i met some of the Johor peeps, and i met up with them again this trip! I forgot how awesome Johor is… WHY DID I NOT GO BACK FOR SO LONG?!

Joey and Melvin.

Johor people know how to party. Look. I even took a video cos i wanted to show the KL peeps back home.

H&M Launch @ Lot 10 KL

Comments (2) Fashion

OK so there was a lot of fuss about the H&M launch, as i’m sure you’ve seen all over twitter and instagram. First people were all like omfg how come i didn’t get an invite/i want to be your plus one!/I REALLY WANT AN INVITE. I told Clem how everyone wanted to be invited to this launch and he went, “If everyone is going then i wanna go too!” Poor man had too much work anyway…

I went with Chelle and Cynthia, tho i completely lost them both barely into the event  -.-

This is the only picture i have of Didi. A blurry one oops.

I told myself that i’m not going to shop so much, but the KL H&M really has a lot of funky stuff! I should have taken Clouds’ advice to SHOP FIRST and DRINK LATER. I tried tho. I went downstairs alone to grab this pair of shiny pink pants i saw when i went in, and that was it. After that i met too many people to stop talking. It was like ‘everyone’ was there. It would be easier to tell you who i DIDN’T see.

Hui Wen

Mizz Nina! We never formally met before, and were complimenting each other on our respective fluoro pants. She said, “I follow you on instagram.” And i thought, ohemgee mizz nina follows me on INSTAGRAM?! and said, “I follow your music!”

Bel and i had the first proper chat since she had her baby

With bloggers Nana and Jane. All these young bloggers nowadays so super tall -.-

Ringo & i

Kim and her awesome necklace

Melati and i were wearing the same necklace! Tak sangka someone else would wear it too cos i bought it in Europe… she said this is what happens when you shop in Paris.

Louise Gray x Topshop collection launch @ KLCC

Comments (3) Fashion

I went to Topshop KLCC last Tuesday evening for the launch. Before it started, i went a bit earlier for a fitting to choose what i’d wear (and keep! mwahahaha).

Doesn’t that just look HEAVENLY to you?! The Louise Gray x Topshop collection is out now! I was so sure i was going to pick the smiley face top, but once i tried this dress on…

i was SOLD. The colours are SO ME! It looks like a rainbow VOMITED SEQUINS all over me. And it’s COVERED in different-sized sequins as well so the texture varies. It’s my favourite party dress right now and i love it so much i felt like hugging it to sleep that night. It’s not as heavy as i expected it to be (most embellished dresses tire me out after awhile) and super comfortable. I can’t wait to wear it to a party it deserves.

The Louise Gray x Topshop make up collection is just as colourful and sparkly as the garments!

We were offered cake pops and pastel macarons. I wasn’t even sure what a cake pop was… but i like it! It’s a ball of moist chocolate cake with icing over it.

DJ Faith

I had Louise Gray x Topshop make up put on me

Hui Ting is so much taller than me that she has to bend down while i’m tip-toeing -.-

Hui Ting’s wonderwoman shoes

The make up artist painstakingly stuck the Louise Gray x Topshop beauty sequins on Hui Ting’s eyebrows. I showed the picture to Clem, “Nice right?!” And he was like, “Isn’t this… a bit too teenager for you?” And i was like pah! who said age matters! I AM A TEENAGER.
