I have a beautiful new toy that i’ve been bringing around with me since its launch just two weeks ago, and i’m ready to blog about it now!
It’s the new Panasonic Lumix GF6, a digital single lens mirrorless camera that has:
– wireless connectivity
– 16 megapixel live MOS sensor
– Full HD recording in AVCHD and MP4
Just when i thought i’ve used cameras that have reached its peak in terms of performance, i have been surprised…
Very surprised!
All the pictures i’ve taken with this are just so SHARP, even when i’m not TRYING.
One of the new features which really struck me is that you can switch it on and take a picture in HALF A SECOND.
This brings to my mind the dozens of times i’ve tried taking a shot of something interesting while i’m on holiday, and by the time the camera comes on, the scene is gone and i’m like, “Too late…” and switch the camera back off.
After so many occasions like that, i don’t even try anymore, i end up gripping my camera wondering if i have the time and knowing i don’t.
Now… i might have a chance at snapping those fleeting moments!
Besides its quick response to start up, the new Lumix GF6 also comes with 19 filters.
19 okay.
I couldn’t believe it…. why would anyone need so many filters for!?
At first i thought they were being too much, but when i started playing with them,
i found most of them to my liking. :p
Here are a handful of them (i’m not gonna put all 19 here, crazy or what) >
Filters: Old Day, and Sepia
Filters: Expressive Art, and Cross Process
Filters: Toy Pop, and Bleach Bypass
Filters: Star Filter, and One Point Colour
Filters: Sunshine, and Expressive
As you can see i chose most of the contrasting and colourful ones, there are still other filters for other preferences, like Soft Focus, Fantasy, Miniature Effect, Toy Effect, Dynamic Monochrome, etc.
Below are more random pictures i’ve been taking with the Lumix over the past two weeks:
A bunch of us met up to support her and it was a very happy night…
The thing is i don’t remember much!
I know i was there, then next moment my brain sedar was when i woke up at 9am on Saturday morning.
First thing i thought was, “Whoa. How did i get here?”
Then i thought… hmm maybe it was a VERY GOOD night and i just have to wait and see what snatches of memory return… I leaned over to hug Clem and he woke up and said, “You were so drunk last night!”
I felt so sorry… and embarrassed. I don’t remember anything!!!
My last memory might have been around 10pm and according to Clem, we went home at 2am+!
Clem said, “You were doing your insect dance while Tianna was singing.”
Me: Shut up! *can’t help laughing a bit* I’m not an insect!
Apparently when Tianna asked “What time is it?” on stage, i was shouting out “It’s Tianna TIME!!!!”
Got the bartender’s number and told Clem i wanted to invite him over to our house for a dinner party one day.
Almost lost my bag.
Burnt a hole in my nice long shirt dress -_-
Had long conversations unbeknownst to me.
Clem: Do you remember your contributor was there?
Me: Sweet Ee? Yeah of course, i asked her to come.
Clem: Hmmm… i’m not sure you’re a good example for the youth of today.
He said it jokingly and i was laughing, but i was still thinking WHAT THE HELL?!
I only had one beer and a couple of glasses of wine!
My usual Friday night drinks…!
Maybe it was time to retire.
I can’t go around being uncontrollable like that!
Then yesterday, i met up with Aps for dinner and told her how puzzled i was bout the whole thing, and she solved the riddle for me.
It’s because i took my allergy/flu pills and then drank!
-_-
I forgot that the doctor said one of the two pills he gave me for my allergies is actually flu meds, and i didn’t think much of it cos i rarely get the flu… and if i do get the flu and take flu meds, i definitely don’t go out drinking!
Here Clem was wondering if i got drugged, and i DID.
Padahal i drugged MYSELF -_-
LESSON LEARNT: Don’t ever take flu medication and alcohol together!!!!
Thanks to Singaporean jewelry brand By Invite Only + KL boutique Bazarro for inviting me to be involved with a style session at their event last Sunday!
Xu on the decks for some Sunday spinnin’
My favourite bracelet from By Invite Only‘s latest collection
The moment i saw this pyrite necklace i knew i had to have it. I was so scared that someone might buy it before i took it to the counter, that i told Rin to reserve it for me :p
Here i am with Trixie Khong, the designer behind By Invite Only. All her pieces are so cool cos they’re made of special crystals, stones, charms and pendants sourced from all over the world. They’re all set in a classic yet edgy way that’s easy to pull off with any outfit from casual-every-day to glam-at-night.
By Invite Only has been featured in magazines like Vogue, Style, Elle, Cleo and Surface; and stocks in countries like Japan, the UK, and Indonesia. You can view full list of their stockists *HERE*. I think they’ve got such great pieces that are ready to take on the world! You go Trixie!
I’ve recently been wondering whether i should be eating less meat or SOMETHING (i don’t know!?) so that my allergies will clear up. They’re still running angry red and rampant on my limbs and body 🙁
Overall, i DO think i eat quite healthy and well… i have a balanced diet of everything, i don’t deny myself cravings, yet i usually opt for fish and veggies and carbs. ANYHOO, i thought i’d better put up a food blogpost before Ramadhan hits and i’d feel kinda guilty if i posted it up during!
I went for lunch with Aishah and she was so sweet to give me a belated birthday present of a toy cheetah, and a s’mores cake that she baked herself! She said she didn’t know what to give someone who already gets so many beauty products and clothes and i told her that what she gave me was just PERFECT! It’s made with love! 😀
Clem was very happy that night i can tell you that!
Aishah is the baker behind That Last Slice.
We had lunch at House + Co. in BSC, which serves my favourite curry laksa (in the category of restaurant environment!) It’s a massive portion of thick flavourful spicy soup.
+ + + + +
An awesome place for baba nyonya food is Lima Blas in Changkat. That day i had ayam ponteh cos the laksa sold out -_- Ayam ponteh was still so good tho!

Cammy & Kenny finally took us to this Japanese BBQ place in Taman Desa which they’ve been calling their Japanese mamak, cos it’s just chairs and tables in the middle of an alley with personal BBQ fires for you to cook your meats on. It’s quite cheap too, with most of the dishes costing RM5-RM10. Their Japanese risotto LOOKS like vomit BUT TASTED GREAT. (< Clem is the one who said it looked like vomit). You can read more about it on KY’s blog *HERE*.
I’ve been a crazy shopper at Shu Uemura for many years… and the first time i met the Shu peeps, they were delighted to know that i owned almost every single cult product from their brand – eyelash curler, cleansing oil, lipsticks, eye shadows, foam base, skincare, eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow base… i had them all!
It was a very awesome moment for me when they asked me to be their ambassador this year 😀 Cos i am already such a Shu Uemura addict and know most of their products by heart!
If you want to know why i love them so much, do check out their promo areas they’ve set up till this Sunday only at 1 Utama (Oval Court) and Mid Valley (Centre Court).
I popped by Mid Valley Centre Court this morning to say hi and have lunch with Christyn 🙂
You can get a free makeover by Shu Uemura, and photo shoot by Leica (there are cameras there for you to have a look at too)
Who says toys can’t be sexy teehee. Bears sporting Shu lashes!
