I went for the launch of Bodytone‘s latest outlet in Great Eastern Mall (Jalan Ampang) cos i really wanted to support them. I’ve been doing Powerplate for almost two years now (tho admittedly being going less in the past few months cos have been so busy!) but i don’t see myself stopping anytime soon cos i’m so much fitter than i ever was in my 20s!
Some people still ask me what Powerplate is… i basically work out and do weights on a Powerplate machine in a class of up to 6 people maximum (so a lot of attention is given). The Powerplate machine vibrates at a certain frequency during the entire workout, making me use my core muscles a lot more and generally making the workout a lot harder and you get twice the results in the same amount of time you spend doing a normal workout.
You see a lot of girls going for the classes… and to dispel that it’s SO EASY (cos it’s NOT!), i’ve been trying to get my guy friends to try it at least once (first trial class is free). I’m not gonna uncover my poor friends’ names in public, but they’re pretty healthy guys who exercise regularly but couldn’t keep up by the end of the class XD

I totally agree with it… i mean, i’m generally a skinny person but i started working out cos:
1) my tummy suddenly started appearing out of NOWHERE in my late 20s
2) i was embarrassed bout my skinny weak arms that couldn’t even open a bathroom door without me having to lean on it
Since i started doing Powerplate, i don’t experience back pains like how i used to, and can carry twice the amount of groceries and event props that i pathetically wasn’t able to before!
I mean look at Cammy… she gave birth in the end of March this year and looks freaking amazing despite putting on a lot of baby weight initially (let’s just say, she WAS quite worried).

Besides taking pix of my new My Little Pony toys Cammy helped me buy (cos i didn’t even get to go to Toys’ r Us), I got to practice with my skateboard a fair bit! Watched some videos online and was advised to keep on practicing cruising till i’m super confident in it. Er, okay i will then. I stupidly tried to skateboard while drunk and fell on my bum badly. Okay alsooooo, the house wasn’t the best place for me to attempt that.

I cooked dinner for Aunt G and Uncle Mark last Friday cos they’ve never been to my place before, and also had my dad and a few friends over. Only decided WHAT i was gonna cook over Friday lunch break, and bought the groceries in the evening. I’m pretty chummy with my beef and pork butchers… you have to! Cos they’ll sneak out that good piece of meat they’ve been storing out of sight 😉
Village Grocer didn’t have chicken stock so i decided to rush-make my own. I checked my Manu Fiedel cookbook to do it the French way but i didn’t have enough time so i did it the normal way – just throw in chicken bones and veggies and simmered it down. The French way would have been to ROAST the chicken and veggies for an hour, before boiling it in water. Makes sense… cos the ingredients would be more flavourful after roasting!
I did a rolled pork belly and shoulder with prunes, herbs and potatoes.

It was so good… i’m so happy i got introduced to it!

Stacey went for some therapy whilst i went to Koh Samui last week 😀

OK! So the last time i put up a notice for interns was in January 2013.
Out of all the applicants, i had three interns, out of which one has now become full-time staff 😀
I’m currently looking for a new intern to start from Nov/Dec 2013.

I was invited to get a makeover at a hair salon i’ve spotted but never ventured in to before! Thanks to Jessica from CENTRO who graced me stories of her daughter and personal history over lunch 😉
CENTRO is known as a Luxury Hair Salon with beautiful classy salons in three locations – two in KLCC, and one in Gardens.
They’re known to have won a handful of awards, with this year alone sweeping titles from Malaysian Women’s Weekly (Best Hairstyle Makeover, Best Wash & Blow-dry, Most Innovative Hair Loss Treatment, Most Luxurious Hair Treatment), Cleo mag (Pink Star Award – Best Hair Service), and Jessica Magazine (Most Wanted Hair Salon).

CENTRO’s team of specialists and highly-trained staff are led by Creative Director, Kevin Woo, who’s also the recipient of the L’Oreal Color Trophy 2006 and appointed L’Oreal Artistic Ambassador from 2008 to 2013.
It’s a large salon in Gardens, and one area is buzzing with activity, whereas an adjoining space was almost empty – where i gladly sat!
They make it easy to park yourself there all day, what with the provision of hot tea, individual plug points to charge phones and laptops, a ton of magazine titles in different languages and topics, and even lunch! XD
I had a consultation with Kevin before we started, and i told him he could pretty much do anything to it except dye it a colour i’ve already had (which is a lot… i’m so bored of red, purple, brown, pink, blonde and all its variations).
I think i look pretty serene while having my hair washed XD
Kevin is the founder of CENTRO Hair Salon and highly sought after by the who’s who of society for his signature precision cuts.
The machines are so technologically-advanced nowadays that some of them look worthy of beaming me to another plane of existence.

I love my new silver white streak against a brownish black! Never had silver hair before… but this worked out real well and i’ve been getting a lot of compliments from everyone i’ve bumped into the past two weeks cos it’s so different from what i’ve already had.
Also received some stupid nicknames from Clem. Out of nowhere he’d say, “So Gizmo, what do you want to eat?” (i.e. Gizmo from the Gremlins). He also called me Cruella (101 Dalmations) when i was being mean to him. Mwahaha.

Franz Ferdinand, Tegan and Sara, Two Door Cinema Club and Efterklang provide the international highlights to a list of some of the world’s most exciting music and creative arts talents.
On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November they will be joined by dozens of local, regional and international bands, musicians, comedians, sculptors, performance artists, visual artists and other zeitgeist-defying acts when Urbanscapes Festival 2013 – The Big Weekend – opens its doors at the Malaysian Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) for a weekend-long carousel of creativity and fun for all ages.

It’s been a long time coming that PJ should finally have its own glamourous party joint! The Roofis SO SICK, i keep on thinking WHAT PARTY i wanna throw there, it’s just begging for one!
I went for the soft launch / media launch on Saturday (26th Oct) and The Roof is SO NEW, only 2 out of its 5 rooms were ready at the time. (All areas are fully operational now.)
The most awesome one for me right now its Stratosphere – Asia’s first and only luxury bar and a grassy helipad lounge with a 360° panoramic view.
As if playing (i.e. drinking, dancing, chatting) in Stratosphere isn’t enough, there are gonna be 4 other spaces under one roof (hur hur) that will make it the one and only premium integrated sky lounge in the city to house 5 distinct dining and entertainment outlets.
The Roof is created by The Group (F&B) Sdn. Bhd. – who also brought you familiar establishments like The Hill, and The Pool 😉 Adding to The Group directors’ accomplishments are Attica and Lenoir (Singapore), Attica Too (Shanghai), Pochi (USA), and a hotel/villa project in Bali.
I’m sure you recognise some of the names above, so it’ll be interesting to see how The Roof sets a new benchmark in the entertainment and F&B industry. With The Roof, The Group have exemplified immense volume of creativity and sophistication in design and decor to reinvent one’s dining and entertainment experience.

I loveee how there’s so much space and grass up there! It’s not a great place to wear heels and i’m so glad i thought of wearing flats that night! Regardless, Steph and i kicked off our shoes so we could feel the grass between our toes and ran and danced like mad crazy people XD
