It had been a long ass week, when I got the email from Joyce, asking me to attend yet another watch event. I scanned the email briefly, already deciding this wasn’t my scene, when I saw the word “whiskey”. I typed out the words “I’d love to!” with a flourish and hit Send and the rest was history.
Fast forward a week, on a particularly hot Thursday, I was looking forward to the end of the work day when my phone bleeps, reminding me about the event. Thank God I was decently dressed. I raced down to Pavilion, fighting peak-hour-traffic, and arrived just in the nick of time.
Held in the Swiss Watch Gallery in Pavilion, the event celebrated the latest collaboration between Chivas Regal, British watch company Bremont and Swiss Watch Gallery. The entire space around Swiss Watch Gallery had been covered up in black velvet drapes, one would not have guessed it was smack in the middle of a mall! Behind the sexy black curtains were even sexier watches on display. From my last watch event, I’ve gained a mountain of respect for the art of watchmaking, especially the crazy attention to detail that is so easily taken for granted.
Today is the first day in 3 weeks i can just sit at home and do NOTHING.
I didn’t want to go out.
I didn’t want to put on make up.
I didn’t want to put on my contact lenses.
I didn’t even want to comb my hair.
I just wanted to stay in my bed and watch Popcorn Time
cos i haven’t watched a single movie for a month.
Really felt like curry laksa cos i’m not gonna get any while going away in 2 days time
and decided to use Be Malas…
Baby has been using them to deliver our balloon orders for KinkyBlueFairy
and i thought hmmm why not.
Just get them to buy curry laksa and deliver it to me.
Never actually contacted them myself before
so i SMSed the number from my bed
and gave specifics on what noodles and that i wanted extra cockles.
Bill was RM33 and i wondered for awhile whether i was being too much for paying that to get it sent when the coffeeshop was a 2-minute drive from me.
But the thought of getting ready and driving in the hot sun…
Blah.
I’m thinking of it like a freelance butler service.
Like, if i used them 10 days out of a month, that’s about RM300.
Which is cheap for butler service right. XD
I love it!
Thanks for having such a service exist in KL.
The only thing i had to DO was put on a bra and open my front door to take the laksa from the guy.
He asked whether he could have a pic with me but i was all, “No… i’m sorry i look like crap today… Next time!”
Did a mad dash of events and fittings a whole day last week and went by the launch of Mermaid Dreams x Urban Decay‘s Private Cocktail Party @ Palazzo Viva in Telawi, Bangsar.
Mermaid Dreams is a Malaysian swimwear label founded by bloggers Nana Law and Michelle Ooi.
Below is the both of them modeling their designs. Daymn Michelle is a mum okay. Hot mum!
You can visit their website which was launched on that day: www.mermaiddreams.my
They briefly told everyone how the idea started from a random conversation in Publika one afternoon, after they realised that there weren’t any high-waisted swimsuits in the market to their liking. So they decided to make some. Always the best reason to create something, i think! The only reason i have/make/sell all these things on KBF is cos i want them for myself! Hahaha
Urban Decay collaborated with the swimwear label to preview their newest Summer Stash | Summer 2015 collection.
I already have two of their lip glosses whose colours are so now i feel like i need a special occasion to debut it on my puckers- a bright glittery fuchsia and a dark maroon purple (looks like the on pictured in the middle).
Chels and i! GAH I miss this girl. Our plans for horsey-riding keep on getting postponed/canceled cos we’re both SO BUSY with work that taking 3 hours off seems impossible.
I’d better blog about the Love, Bonito fashion show i flew to Singapore for, before their next event happens in KL in 8 days! Then i’d *really* be behind in my blogposts (as if i’m not already ahhh i just want to go back to being a full-time bloggerrrr).
A bunch of us were flown down for Singapore Fashion Week to attend the Love, Bonito x Tex Saverio fashion show.
Love, Bonito is Singapore’s leading online fashion retailer and has been around since 2006. The label offers stylish and affordable pieces which are designed in-house, and have garnered the coveted SME Asia Award 2013/2014 awarded by The Asian Business Journal and The Trade and Industry Association in Singapore.
Tex Saverio is a prominent Indonesian fashion designer Love Bonito collaborated with, and has been described as “the Alexander McQueen of Indonesia” by Grazia UK. His career took off after winning a national award at the Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion Award in 2005, and was named Most Talented Young Fashion Designer a mere year after launching his Tex Saverio Prive label in 2010.
He showed at Paris Fashion Week 2013, which is where Love, Bonito founders Rachel and Viola first caught sight of his designs! It was further established that they wanted to partner up with him when they saw the wedding dress that Tex designed for Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Tex’s edgy and avant garde creations have also been worn by peeps like Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian. Check out his website, very cool.
Back to the start of our journey to Singapore Fashion Week…
The rest flew up on Saturday morning, but i had a photo shoot that had been scheduled weeks ahead so i had to go on the afternoon flight. Amber had work on that morning too, so we both met in the airport to get on the same flight.
Amber was so semangat, everything she brought to wear on that trip is from Love, Bonito.
We were busy messaging on our phones and chatting all the way till we boarded, when she said, “I’m sorry, but i’m going to take a nap…”
Me: Amber, i brought my pillow. I’m going to SLEEP!
Selfie before sleep! Everything’s so blue!
My sunnies are from Mouet. I know Amber’s are from Fendi.
I passed out the whole flight. This is what happens when you’re so busy you don’t get enough sleep… i look forward to every flight i get on cos it’s the only time nobody can reach me on my phone and i get some kip!
We were picked up by a Merc at the airport. Naiceeee
We were whisked off to Hotel Jen, where everyone was put up for the trip. Formerly Traders Hotel in Singapore, it’s been refurbished/rebranded and has a splendid Club Lounge on the 15th floor where we were checked in.
Right next to where we were standing was a spread of cheese, snacks and wine where we could just help ourselves.
I stared at the wine thinking, WHY NOT, might as well start now. It was already 5pm and we had an hour to get ready for the show so i had a glass of chardonnay while getting ready!
We love individuals who are willing to learn and immerse themselves in a positive environment.
We’re also on the hunt for young photographers who would like the opportunity to go out to events to shoot and network for their personal portfolio as well.
Our office is based in Damansara Jaya, PJ.
Your daily travel and meal costs will be covered,
and any off-site work costs are covered as well.
