Spot The Caterzebra.

Comments (2) Bali, Travel

I bought three giraffes (two are 5 feet tall, the third is shorter) from one of the warehouses in Seminyak, Bali.
And because my luggage was overweight (with toys and such) flying home, i left them with RowdyRudy to bring them back for me last Friday.

He tried to con me that they didn’t make it home and first.
“Okay enough catching up. The important question is. Did you bring back my giraffes?!”
“About your giraffes..”
“…. !!! *thinkingdon’tfuckwithmeman!*…”
“… Hee hee hee yeah i brought them home.”

Then he cursed what hell i caused him lugging three home, but i didn’t listen as long as no one had to pay additional weight charges.
Laughing

His voice suddenly rose, hinting of Something Important He Was Going To Tell Me.
“Do you know what you did?!”
“What?!”
“Do you remember Mr. Zebra?”
“… Urm yeah…” Hmm where is he ar now… *thinks super hard*

Rewind facts –
Before i left Bali to fly back earlier for CNY, the two guys made me take all my toys back with me proclaiming it was too girly fairy happy lomantic for them to take and they might start making out.

“Joyce. We love you, and your fairy toys and ponies and we bonded and all, but that shit’s gotta go man.”

So i obediently packed everything up save for the Fan Yang bubble blower and the spinner.
And apparently, Mr. Zebra.

Caterzebra

I forgot i left Mr. Zebra perched on a tree by the pool and didn’t see him when i was picking up all the toys 0_o

“And you know how i found him?” RowdyRudy’s voice rose over the phone, “I was walking around the villa and thought ‘ooh… what iS that?! OH MY! What a unique-looking caterpillar!!!”

I laughed so hard i had to lie down on the kitchen floor.

So This Is What It Really Feels Like.

I thought i felt heart-bursting happiness when i was in Anantara, Bali.
Which i did.

But this is way more then that, to the point it materialized into a physical sensation.

Twelve hours of bliss in between three weeks, and the most heart-dropping sms i’ve received in my life beeping unexpectedly in the form of a singular word.

Nothing could faze me right now.
Not even a pontianak popping up next to my bed (yeah i have morbid imagination traveling alone).

Because I Shouldn’t Say No.

Comments (0) Travel, Work

It’s so easy to get caught up in the recent phase of my party/travel/holiday lifestyle that i felt i really should take up this freelance job.
The GM of this company i met when i was still in media, got a hold of me to do some freelance PR and marketing consultancy for them.

At first i wasn’t very willing to fly up for work but then i slapped myself twice because
1. i am free this month (just have to make time for it in between my travels)
2. i should not be lazy -_-
3. ka-ching

Due to freelancing in other forms of work and having being cheated before, at least i now know how to write a contract out in B&W before doing anything.

I need a lawyer, man. Oh, not for this but to help me tackle another issue -_-

So i threw clothes into my suitcase, dragged my tired ass to the airport after celebrating AshleyTheMonkey and FoxyLisa’s birthdays the night before (killed two birds with one stone at TAG) and landed fine and dandy.

The limo driver picked me up from the airport and was on the walkie-talkie with the hotel people who sounded frantic on the very second i was arriving.
“Why is everyone so excited -_-” he said to me.
“Ha ha. I have no idea.”

Three managers greeted me on the front steps before ushering me to the lounge for coffee and easygoing chitter chat.
Then they escorted me to a suite on the top floor.

So for 30 minutes, i felt like a rockstar. Minus the bodyguard.
And musical talent.
And drugs.
And entourage.

-_- Okay, not so rockstar after all.

Mr. Elephant loves the suite (btw i was so free and bored on first day CNY i started him a Facebook account since someone mentioned he’s traveling more then other people. Someone called me crazy. I’m used to it already) and accompanies me while i do some work at night.

I did feel a tad homesick (only one day okay. I is so fail) and wonder how the hell YC goes overseas to work alone.
It’s absolutely different from going on holiday with friends.
And even though i have friends here, i don’t have time to meet up with them.

So it’s me and Mr. Elephant.

Okay enough crapping back to work.

Wow, people have been msging me on Facebook, emailing and asking me for details on certain places i stayed and where i went on my trips.

So. When i’m free (and i promise i will do a detailed listing of everywhere i went), I’ll post all the addresses and names of the bars, hotels, cafes, restaurants and shroom places we checked out!

Okay rushing for family dinner now -_-
Neverending wei.

Year Of The Rat

Comments (3) Family

So it’s officially Year of the Rat.

Cousin SmallsMinkyMin was born in the year of the Tiger and spoke up over reunion dinner, “Apparently my perfect match are with those in year of the Pig (me) and Horse. My sisters are useless, i’m holding you responsible to introduce me to people.”

-_-”’

We each broke fortune cookies. Well. SmallsMinkyMin opened hers first out of excitement.
Love and you shalt be loved… what kinda crap fortune is this! Can i change?!” she dunked it down on the table.

Mine was something about getting high returns in a business investment.
Which is all fine by me Cool

While i was in Bali, poor brother NickIsTaller had a horrible basketball accident in which he tore some ligaments and two of his teeth broke off.

OUCH. Shocked Sad

We were smsing each other then and it did spoil my happyclappiness for a bit ‘o the morning i found out.
Back in KL, he’s been using crutches to get around, including to Chinese New Year meals at different relatives’ houses.
Couldn’t help myself from playing with his crutches and swinging from them. I offered to stick pony stickers on them but he said they belong to my mum’s friend.
Cheh.

My cousins and i gleefully conjured up the notion that we should bring him out with us more so we can park in the handicapped area Laughing

Chinese New Year day lunch.
Everyone enthusiastically wore red.
Except for me.
I retorted that my hair was red enough to compensate, plus my dress had cherry red prints on it.

CNY Day 1 ‘08

CNY Day 1 ‘08
Sufian, JingHui’s bf

Ugh. That traditional Cantonese vegetarian dish we have to eat on first day, year in year out.

CNY Day 1 ‘08

“Where’s Min Min? Oi, take picture la!”

CNY Day 1 ‘08

JingHui, JingHua, SmallsMinkyMin, me.
Nothing to do at home right now.
Have a slight headache so don’t want to drive out.
Family dinner’s in my house tonight at 7 so i have to stick around and appear helpful… somewhat.

I haven’t unpacked from Thailand yet.
I haven’t unpacked from Bali yet.
And i have to rush a two-day work trip to Penang (probably this Sat-Mon) so i can have a day’s rest before flying to Vietnam on Wednesday.

After Vietnam, i’m sitting my ass down in KL and not going to be gallivanting around for quite a while!
Will be angelic – put my head down to work, save money, and… got la. Shy
