One Friday (a couple of weeks back) i rushed to KLue Plus 5 at Schokolart @ SohoKL Solaris Mont Kiara
It’s a monthly event done by KLue where the whole concept is to invite 5 of your friends to go with you
So that everyone gets to meet new people from various industries in KL
I was trying to snap a picture of the group
when they noticed me and ALL started posing -_-
me + Kevin + Sarah
We all happen to be wearing things from Nike
I have to show you why i love this white top tho,
cos of its sleeves!
SmallSerena, JC, Linda, Kim, Olivier and Matthew were at KLue Plus 5 with me
We left to check out new club Envie (on Changkat Bukit Bintang) after that
Serena trying on my vintage chain link necklace
Then we went to Sultan’s Lounge
It’s prollie my second time there
Her shoes from Aldo
Yeah, ok, we were all quite intoxicated already
Hence the random snapping away
One Friday, i wondered where ClaudiaOnCrack had scampered off to in the office
She’d finished most of her work, but still, i went to see what mischief she was up to
I found her at the lounge area drawing cartoons of everyone in Freeform
DidiBuli and her started arguing about how certain drawings didn’t look like particular staff,
which led to which drawing sucked,
which led to each saying they could draw better,
which led to a drawing competition between them to draw an innocent bystander – me.
Myra became timekeeper and i sat on the sofa trying to not to shake with laughter while holding the digicam
Omg i cried my non-waterproof mascara off laughing at them.
And that part with Didi shoving Claudia is CLASSIC.
DidiBuli betul la!
End results:
I was wearing Jimmy Lim‘s AW08 Fashion is Boring shirt.
I have to commend ClaudiaOnCrack’s effort at getting my pedicure nail colour in the drawing.
Too bad she forgot my arms.
Last week, ClaudiaOnCrack and i accidentally wore the same fluoro pink sandals to work
The day after that, we both wore animal prints
The day after that, we both wore B+W ensembles
None of this was planned btw
Today, i gawked as she stepped into O’Briens @ The Curve
(we were there for a meeting)
We both wore star scarves
“What the hell!” “You’re copying ME!”
“I was here first!”
Now when i get ready for work i’m wondering whether we’re going to end up in the same things again.

There was a cotton candy machine at the Kiehl’s event yesterday
and the stray wisps that floated up and down
were caught by our quick fingers
before being deftly popped into our mouths
A very tak-maintain shot of Chelsia and i stuffing ourselves with candy
ClaudiaOnCrack caught us unknowingly
Carmen, Hansen, Azura, me + cotton candy stick, Chelsia, Shegar
Ooooooohhhhhhh! The highlight of our afternoon was meeting Lat
Azura and i spotted him from a few feet away
and plotted how to stalk him
I remember my Aunty telling me he loved the 8-foot teddy bear
she keeps upstairs on a rocking chair
when he stayed with her in Reigate
so i wanted to say, “I heard you love the teddy too!”
I forgot -_-
But we did talk about my aunty
me, Hansen, SunshineySteph, Hannah Lo, Carmen Soo, Jehan Miskin, Azura Zainal, Chelsia Ng, Chermaine Poo
ClaudiaOnCrack and i were starving after the event
So we went to Sushi Zanmai to eat before heading back to the office
I did a time out for 5 mins.
The new Kiehl’s is on the ground floor of Mid Valley Megamall
towards the Jusco side.
I’ve always been a believer in doing what you’re passionate about,
expressing yourself how it bubbles out of you best,
dressing how you feel for the day,
and brave from being a typical stereotype.
If you hate your job and want to be a DJ, why not?
If you feel like you want to dye your hair blue, why not?
The thing is… a lot of people don’t realise that nothing is really holding them back.
Except fear.
Fear of what?
Failure?
Best you could do then is shrug it off and go, “Well, at least i tried!” and move on to trying something else!
People said a kiddy-themed party like Cat Got Your Tongue may be too childish
But we said, ‘Screw you!’ and did it anyway
Now we do it once every two months at Zouk.
Some people said it’s too hard being a DJ and takes a lot of practice
Sarah Chan and i agreed,
But who said you had to be a real DJ to play the music you adore at a party?
We ended up starting SalahWrong for fun and have since played at Palate Palette, Cloth & Clef, Zouk and even Johore (haha)
I got all sorts of comments and stares from people when i walked around
But i never regretted it
Not even for a second
Some people thought a local fashion blog would be a great idea
And some said it would take money, too much work, bla bla bla
Nothing comes free
Luckily Adrian Yap of Freeform believed in the idea the moment he heard it
And took me in to the Freeform family to start Tongue in Chic up
In the span of less than a year we’ve garnered clients like
LG, Rimmel, Levi’s, Bulgari, adidas, and Dior, to name a few
Many are afraid of being labeled as ‘different’, ‘weird’ or ‘strange’ when they want to try new things
So what?
If anything, i think you should never be afraid of standing out
Because when you are rid of that fear, the potential to do things you’re capable of is greater.
