I usually get my pedicures done in bright colours (fuchsia, bright orange) or glazed whites (sorta makes it look healthier!).
Recently, i had some time, or rather, MADE some time to get my nails done cos i’ve been way too busy to care for them.
Decided to get a sparkly purple that’s almost delicate in shade.
And i’ve been constantly admiring them ever since.
I even got Clem to admire them by shoving my tootsies into his line of view while watching TV.
I even got so far as to accidentally get people to look down on it as well.
Was at an event and during a part which was rather boring,
i peeped down at my toes to admire them *layan diri*
The people next to me started looking down as well, which threw me off. “What are you looking at? My shoes?”
“… No… i was erm admiring my sparkly purple nail polish :p”
It was a pretty massive do, in a ballroom with lots of canapes and bubbly going around.
Maybe Guess is trying to make a comeback.
Or remind us that they’re still around.
Cos i can’t remember the last time i bought something from Guess…
Oh wait i do.
Some shoes at the FJB sale 3 years ago
Guess flew Shontelle to perform at the event.
Tho i have to admit… i wasn’t very sure who Shontelle was… (sorry R&B fans! >.<)
But i ain’t gonna pretend if i don’t know any of her songs!
The night was crazier than i expected…
people started dancing on the runway.
I tried to remember the hip hop moves Kevin taught me years ago, but failed.
Swear i danced for a good half hour tho!
I’m not… a fan of hip hop.
Clem is.
But i’m not, really.
I like listening to some songs.
But i can only take a few at a go.
OH. I used to LOVE hip hop back in the 90s… with Mary J. Blige and Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise.
But i don’t know how to layan it now.
Plus i discovered other genres i can’t tear myself away from!
Wow i completely lari topic and blabbed away
A sign that i’m stressed out!
Have heaps of work to finish up before my flight on Sat morn,
haven’t started packing yet,
and we just got word that the airport in Paris is closed today due to the snow!
GAH i hope it’s fine this weekend!
The Gardens Mall has tied up with various Malaysian artists sourced by Wei-Ling Gallery for a super fun project. Absolut 18@8 is in its 5th year to present an art exhibition.
Was invited to preview the bottles this afternoon before they’re being auctioned off tonight, with a portion of proceeds going to the SPCA.
Ivan Lam, Wei Ling, and Anurendra
Each artist was requested to interpret the Absolut bottle in their own way,
and what transpired is a plethora of highly creative art transfixed to one of my favourite substances…
Anurendra Jegadeva used icons that are prevalent in his usual art pieces for his Absolut piece.
Ivan Lam used different resins to set in the bottle.
I overhead him tell a reporter it took roughly 8 hours per layer to set!
By Chee Way
Cheng Yen Pheng created a porcelain version of the iconic Absolut bottle.
By Yau Bee Ling
By Choy Chun Wei
By Yim Yen Sum
One of my favourites is this bottle in a bottle by Wong Chee Meng
I find this quite scary… cos it’s made of hair!
By Gan Tee Sheng
Chee Eng Hong painted his bottle from the INSIDE.
I can’t imagine how difficult that must’ve been!
By Cheong Tuck Wai
By Chin Kong Yee
After the preview of the pieces, we sat down to a lunch at Sage.
Nothing like a gourmet lunch to supply you energy for the day!

If you’d like to view the Absolut bottles in person,
the exhibition will be held at the concourse of The Gardens Mall till 3rd January 2011.
They’re having a styling contest where you buy a piece from Gallo,
style yourself up and upload it on Facebook.
Every month, a winner will win RM1000 worth in clothes (Dec 10-Feb 11)
and style their SS11 fashion show!
On show day, the styling Queen or King will win an additional RM1500 in cash + RM1500 in clothes.
The Leftblock Junk Sale last Saturday was a success!
Most of the vendors met up at 10am to set up,
and waking up early to lug around boxes isn’t the most desirable thing to do on a weekend morning…
As i made my way to my car, rubbing my eyes,
i was thinking, “Damn whose idea was it to have this… … oh. Us. -_-“
MingDaBomb of Bombshell
Check out what his vintage-filled salon looks like *here*
StephTheVolcano came to dig for stuff at my stall.
I’m really bad at bargaining from my friends btw. Ash: Hey this is pretty! How much? Me: Er, RM5?
Ash: RM3? Me: Argh just take it la -_-
Ash: HAHA *grabs*
In the end all my close friends took my stuff for free.
I expect returns in lots of hugs and temaning for drinks whenEVER i want.
Inside was packed, outside was packed.
Sorry to those who couldn’t even make it inside the cafe!
SARCHAN
MingDaBomb and i are jungle kawans.

Some pictures of the vendors involved, though i was so busy sorting out money i forgot to take pictures of everyone!
Roxy / Rozanna of sevendays boutique
I heard some pieces were missing from Roxy’s store… thanks to shoplifters.
BAD KARMA ON YOU.
seriously.
It may just be clothes to you and i, but stealing is stealing.
And one day, someone will take something from you.
You can count on it.
Some people were asking us when we’re gonna do it again,
seeing how popular it is to get rid of the stuff we’re bored of,
or exchange them for new things…
I said that we’ll probably do another in… 5 months time!
When we’ve all accumulated new things to sell. Again.
Thanks to everyone who came and ate and drank Heineken beer for RM10.
Sorry we shut the event at 5pm, Chelle and i wanted to go for Thirst after that haha.
