Going to buy DVDs

Comments (18) Dailydress

The good thing about KL is you can find a DVD shop next to wherever you’re having lunch.

I bought:
– Dear John (based on some Nicholas Sparks book i’m gonna force Clem to watch on Valentine’s Day)
– Mao The Last Dancer
– Casablanca
– Breakfast at Tiffany’s (just because)
– City of God (i know right. so old. but i want!)
And one more i can’t remember.
RM40 for 6.

If you know of any GOOD MOVIES, please comment below.
I liked Black Swan.
Thought The Tourist was stupid cos so many situations were highly improbable.
And… there don’t seem to be any good movies lately.
Sad.

I was gonna blog about Calvin’s new boutique SEETHROUGH much earlier
but thought i might as well save it till the article comes out
and post more pictures of the place that the newspaper couldn’t possibly fit in!

I gave Calvin the lil Chat Noir post i got from Paris

Every time i called Calvin last year,
he’d be busy working on his new shop.
He would be banging away in the middle of the night
to save cost on renovation
and i was quite impressed he was so hands on.

The boutique’s main interior consists of raw materials he wanted to clash with all his vintage furniture and items on display.

So he sourced
pipes
chains
corrugated zinc sheets
street lamps
red bricks
cargo boxes
and aluminum sign boards.

Sweet dreams

Comments (2) Fashion, Food

I literally had a sweet dream last night.

Accidentally invited into a dessert buffet,
i had very specific conversations with the various bakers and makers of all the most wonderful desserts on earth.
The best part was getting coupons to redeem all the desserts.
£20 for 100 coupon points.
Don’t ask me why the currency in my dreams are in £!
I got 50 coupon points for half price,
and piled heaps of desserts onto my tray greedily.
1 dessert was only about 3 coupon points!

The best part of my dream was actually tasting everything i ate.
I LOVE EATING DREAMS.

In the morning,
Me: I had the best dream ever! I was eating scones with cream and bla bla bla
Clem: Oohkay, i have to go to work.

Funny part was my dream ended with me remembering i had to meet Aishah
and regretting eating so many desserts cos i was too full to have lunch with her.

But since that was just a dream,
i wasn’t too full in real life to see her at Plan B (Bangsar Village I) for lunch.

plan b saba percik

I loveeee the food there.
Had saba percik today which is unassumingly awesome.

aishah the baker

Aishah and i spent many hours in college together,
falling asleep at 3 in the morning trying to finish our blasted market projects
(come to think of it, what was the point of it? Do you see us slaving over marker storyboards now? Noooo),
having coffee at Starbucks,
writing notes about panties in class
and when we we thought we were gonna get married (she wrote 26 and i wrote 30, so far she was right about herself!).

Aishah was even so kind as to remind me of the time i cut a piece of my finger off in college.   :xwhatevah:
(I think it’s scary how i’ve been blogging for so long that i even have a post written on that day -_-)

She said that out of our entire class who took graphic design in college,
only 2 or 3 are actually still doing it for work.
Just shows how we think we know what we want at 20.
(Maybe just like how we think we know better what we want at 28 :p).

Aishah has started her own lil baking business called That Last Slice.
So you can view what she has for order *here*!
But don’t call Auntie okay.
She super bengang when customers call her that   :xsilly:

This is why i avoid malls.

We managed to gamble using Deal

After 4 days of intense pigging out,
I bought chili at the supermarket to cook with my food.
It’s supposed to increase your metabolic rate and bowel movement,
so if you’re feeling heavy and just want to detox the Asian way – eat chili!

One way to spend your ang pow

Comments (4) Sponsored Post

Chinese New Year!

The time of the year to:
Stuff ourselves silly with food
Gamble till wee hours of the morn
Down lots of alco
And receive lots of ang pow! (unless you’re married)

cupcakes

I could smell the cupcakes my mum was making from outside the house!

ang pow

Ang pow!

I usually keep the money in the ang pow packets
and put it aside in my room.

Sorta like storing luck till i throw out the packets (without the $ in them la oi) the year after.
Sometimes i remove the cash to use in emergency
when i really really don’t have time to run to the bank.

This year… there’s a good reason to slip RM100 from your stash
to put to good use.

iphone and bb

I use two phones – an iPhone and a BlackBerry
For my BlackBerry, i’ve been using Xpax since i started using a BB.

There’s a promo going on RIGHT NOW
that if you top up your phone 10 times with a minimum of RM10
from now till 28th February
2011,
you stand a chance to win cash and goodies.

I just want the cold hard cash   :xsilly:

You can participate in the promo
if you’re an Xpax, U.O.X. or S.O.X user
(just that the cash prizes for each plan is diff).

celcom

Luckily i’m an Xpax user…
since the cash prize is RM8,888!

Imagine my RM100 in phone credit multiplying to RM8,888…

*snaps out of daydream*

If you’re thinking what a burden it’d be to reload RM10 ten times,
be a bit smart about it and buy ten reloads at once like me   :xsilly:
Then you can reload it at your own leisure without having to go to the store

celcom

You can see i got them all from 7-Eleven   :xshy:

If you see the sign below at any location,
that means you can reload your Xpax, U.O.X. or S.O.X. number there!
There are thousands of locations that have this sign:

celcom

The ‘asterisk’ next to the reload isn’t actually an asterisk,
it’s really a merge between “+” and “x”
Meaning: the more you reload (“+”)
and the more times you realod (“x”)
the more cool rewards you’ll get!

So remember,
just reload your phone 10x times with a min of RM10
from now till 28th Feb!

Besides the cash,
there are some automatic rewards you receive in the process:
– Do your 5th reload on the same day as the 4th reload and you will receive 100mins of FREE talktime to any number on the same network valid for 2 days.
– Do the 7th reload on the same day as the 6th reload and you will receive FREE CALLS & SMS to your 15pax/8pax for 1 WHOLE WEEK!
