Chic Pop + Bettr Weekends + Crafty Art Market @ Jaya One

Comments (5) Shopping

You missed out if you didn’t go for this massive market on Saturday.
3 fantastic flea markets combined.
Perhaps the only clout they didn’t have is a flea market ONLY involving fashion bloggers   :xwinky:

chicpop_12

Shiny shiny vintage i had my eye on. RM70.
But it was massive… so i decided against it.

chicpop_11

chicpop_10

Geometric felt necklaces handmade by Mas Angelina.
I already nabbed the biggest brightest one she made. RM65.

chicpop_9

SarChan and i arguing over whether i should get these locally-made sunhats.
Look at the vintage-like fabric! TOO CUTE.
I tried it one and… it sat atop my head cos it’s for babies!
Dammit.
Got it anyway as reserve baby presents.

chicpop_8

Metal necklaces i admired. I can’t wear them.
My snobby skin reacts to anything non-gold/silver.

chicpop_7

Thought of Clouds when i saw pandas cos she cray crazy for them.
At Old Blossom Box Store.

chicpop_5

Hand-painted rings at Oh and Ah

chicpop_6

Cutest ring i’ve seen all year, at Oh and Ah. RM38.

chicpop_4

Isabel just turned 2. She didn’t want to share her blue cupcake with me.
I told her daddy Odin she’s got attitude.
Me: Who does she get it from!
Him: No idea… *looks quietly at wife*
Me: Good answer! Hahahha

This is my friend Sueann. This is how she sits in public.
With her muffled voice coming through her striped shirt.

At that point my phone batt died so no pix of SarChan and me. :xbummed:

I was so hungover from Aps’ belated birthday dinner the night before
but so glad i went!
Think i don’t see the ex-Freeform people enough.

Had fun pottering around with SarChan, poking at things,
spending money, laughing at my hungover antics.
I had a yummy sashimi set lunch at Hanazen,
bought 2 kites (1 for RM6, 2 for RM10. The chinese in me went for 2),
a Marni-like necklace from Pretty Little Freaks,
and other happy colourful stuff.

 :xheart2:

thirtyfour dipped.two

Comments (1) Fashion

I’ve always been a big fan and loyal supporter of thirtyfour,
with their rings and bangles part of my daily t0-wear collection.
Last Thursday was the launch of dipped.two,
a collaboration between Nini Ramlan and Shuennkee consisting of
18 one-off pieces of handcrafted precious metal & stone.

a_-thirtyfour-dipped-two_9

This be Nini.

a_-thirtyfour-dipped-two_1

I’m just gonna copy what she said in the cards given out at the event
cos noone can explain the collection better than her.

“I stay true to the concept of designing what i would wear and together with design collaborator Shuenn Kee, we wanted to design accessible statement pieces.

a_-thirtyfour-dipped-two_11

“… For dipped.two we wanted to try out the concept of “collecting” jewelry,
seeing them for its character and personality.
We want women to start collecting unique things,
individual to them.

a_-thirtyfour-dipped-two_5

“The collection features one-offs of fancy cut stones dipped in gold!
In terms of design, it’s pretty geometric which i think was due to the nature of our stones but it’s also soft in a sense that we used a lot of draping.
We played with fancy cut stones we bought from India
and different kinds of chains mixed and set in shiny rose gold and yellow gold.
We want women to get into the idea of wearing stones differently
and we made it a point to offset our designs,
wearing stones on the sides, letting it hang loose and dangle.

a_-thirtyfour-dipped-two_4

“It’s got an air of sexy to it,
where the chains drape and the jewels are seen tumbling on the skin.
It’s definitely not for the traditionally inclined.

a_-thirtyfour-dipped-two_3

Rings are priced at RM850 (available for pre-order)
and necklaces are one-offs priced at RM1,390-RM2,470.
I arrived a bit later than i expected,
and saw that almost all the pieces were reserved before the event had ended!
How fantastic for them..!

Rollin’ Sixers do me proud!

Comments (2) Music

The first time i saw my friends the Rollin’ Sixers perform,
was at the Converse Star: ‘Youth & Decay Photography By David Corio‘ event last year.
After 8 years of being together
(seriously guys… i never knew you were a band for so long!)
they launched their first self-titled album last night @ La Bodega, Telawi.

I’ve never seen La Bod ROCKING SO BAD EVA.
Guys were shouting and whistling, girls were screaming,
everyone was clapping and movin’.
I was actually kinda tired from waking up at 7am that day,
but the music just PUMPED me up and i stayed till…
well urm i don’t remember, but i got into bed at 2am.

Eddy Lim is lead singer.
We were so impressed at his skillz when he was blowing on the harmonica like a maniac.
Like, if Eddy can blow on the harmonica like that, then…(finish your own sentence)

Khai Bahar & Henry Tan pick and strum,
Ian Stewart beats the drums
and Jay Kughan badadadums.

Arabyrd’s T-Party! / KinkyBlueFairy ftd. in Runway Passport

Comments (6) Media

“Breakin’, Emceein’, Graffiti Art & Deejayin’.
They call it Hip Hop, I call it having a good time.
Lemme take you back to the old skool where tracksuits and bucket hats were incomplete without heavy gold chains;
where parties would only come to life if everyone played their part.
A Sunday afternoon, a combination of THE four elements, a BBQ pit and MY OWN backyard.

Roll up in a t-shirt, then kick it easy with a cocktail in your hand.
Rip it. Snip it. Hack it. Patch it.
It’s your tee, your 80s Hip Hop get up.
It’s YOUR T-party and its all LOVE”

Remember when i was giving away drink coupons early last week?
I’m so glad i managed to go for the party!
Wasn’t sure since i had to fly off to Laos next day
and i always have a pile of work to sort through before leaving for anywhere,
but i managed to make it!

Aps, Danny and i were in a drinky mood cos Aps’ birthday was coming up…
and any excuse to have an extra drink ey?   :xwinky:

aheroes_12

There was a photowall at the entrance,
where i filled in a speech balloon to take pictures with:

aheroes_13

But… i didn’t ‘find the light’ so i made the superheroes take another picture with me:

aheroes_11

aheroes_10

Spiderman was taking his turn at the photowall after Superman and Supergirl.

aheroes_9

Shae, one of the international mixologists from Horeca.
We were chatting, and turns out he knows the other mixologists i met in 2008!

aheroes_8

I had the Juggernaut cocktail… twice.
It was so nice i didn’t even want to try another drink!   :xshy:

aheroes_6

aheroes_5

Sailor Moon! (right?!)
I simply ran up to her and asked for a  picture

aheroes_4

Wonder Woman!

aheroes_3

Fairy making drinks! Haha

There was a Create Your Cocktail bar,
where i quickly jumped in when there wasn’t a queue.
All the ingredients were laid out and i just had to follow the mixologist’s instructions on how to make my own.

aheroes_2

And the best thing about making a drink at the event…
is getting to DRINK IT ALL after   :xlaughing:

aheroes_1

i’m wearing:
fuchsia top with slits + black harem pants;
sevendays
accs; thomas sabo, kang, thirtyfour, sri lanka, vintage

The next morning, Clem msged me:
“I guessed the party was good, you smelled like you had a swim in a pool of vodka!”

I did no such thing…
but let’s just say by the time i got home,
he was asleep. :xshy:
