Established in London by Steve Sun,
he hit a mark when he wanted to provide people
with quality fashionable watches at reasonable price points.
Steve then started making watches which usually defy convention,
and play around a lot with different textures, colours and shapes.
22 years on, there are Storm stores all over the world! (The brand also expanded to fragrances, bags, shoes, and sunglasses)
All the watches are designed by a small team
who include funky details like camera openings and laser dials.
Below are a few pix i’m posting for you to have a look at!
[bottom left]
The Orbit in Gold gets its name from the floating Swarovski crystals which surround it. The glamourous watch is made from polished stainless steer and elevated cut glass. RM689. Also available in Pink, Silver, and Black; RM569.
[bottom right]
The Dualmec is a limited edition timepiece with only 3000 pieces available worldwide. With a fully exposed multiple cog dial, the Dualmec also boasts dual time, date function and water resistancy up to 50 metres. RM749. Also available in Silver and Brown.
[above]
The Pizaz has a see-through case back that holds 5 floating Swarovski crystals that move with every motion of your wrist. Aqua/Gold and White/Gold; RM749. Purple, Hot Pink and Black; RM649.
Storm let me choose a watch from their collection,
and i initially wanted Pizaz.
I was smitten by the runaround Swarovski crystals inside!
Imagine how entertained i’d be playing with it.
But… it was too big for my skinnychicken wrist and didn’t look nice
so i decided against it.
Storm has a large range to choose from,
with more designs coming out every season!
You’re going to be baffled for choice when you view them all in front of you.
I rather fancied this one too which i dubbed the traffic light.
It was too big for me too -_-
Darn my small bones!
I almost chose this one above.
It looks a LOT better in real life, trust!
The Mini Heart is a Storm classic,
and Steve was inspired by a child’s marble when he designed it.
From the side, the watch face looks like a tiny globe
so it looks like a funky bangle when worn.
In the end, i went with this wicked binary watch.
Maybe i like not being able to tell the time easily, who knows.
I’ve been wearing it almost every day since i got it,
i think it goes with most of my current outfits!
orange top from Leftblock,
blue skirt from Azorias,
yellow peeptoe platforms from Topshop,
necklace from Johnny Ramli,
and watch from Storm.
Sweet.

STORM watches are priced at RM299-RM2,099.
They will be stocking in H5 and Time Capsule
with more outlets to be confirmed at a later date.
Ming and i decided to go for Keith Kee’s gala event last weekend.
Out of the ordinary for me to want to go for an event on Sunday night,
that’s usually dedicated Brace-For-Monday DVD time with Clem!
I think work is making me semangat to go out more and remind myself i have a life outside the office!
Ming was oh-so-awesome to make me up using his tools of the trade.
Seriously, i looked so freaking tired when i went to his place.
I was working all weekend besides visiting Bershka and going for two family dinners.
Ming applied some wonder concealer and highlighted my facial contours to make me GLOW.
Ok i know this is a cheating pic cos i instagramed it so
Cris and Ming
I giggled when someone said, “Excuse me Miss,” to Cris
because all of us would refer to Cris as ‘her’
but it’s even better when a stranger does it
I wore a dress courtesy of Gallo by Thian Reza saw this pic and said i semakin kurus and should eat more.
Clem already says i eat like a man… if i could, i would eat all day :p
But not to worry! I’m planning to go to the gym in an effort to PUT ON WEIGHT on my skinny chicken arms and firm up my gravity-calling 28-year-old body.
The Ming and I.
I posted this on Instagram and Kubs wrote:
“The Ming and I: One Woman’s Story about her Time in the Faaaaaabulous Court of Emperor Ming.”
I changed twice in my car today
Something that rarely happens even once.
After i left the office, i changed in my car to clothes for a shoot by Hong Kong’s Weekend Weekly mag.
After the shoot, i changed in my car again,
this time into my yoga clothes before going into the house.
Clem asked why i didn’t just change in my teacher’s house.
I said cos i didn’t want her to see me wearing a slutty transparent top..!
BTW Does anyone have any good tailor/seamstress contacts? Ours is DYING under a pile of work and can barely keep up with production for Leftblock.
We’re DYING to find more tailors..!
Please please email me at joycethefairy@gmail.com if you or your family know any,
we’d be SO APPRECIATIVE!
Chelle looks like she’s holding an imaginary basket of flowers/food/cakes
The HK team got us to take pix with fashion designer Joe Chia.
People were staring at us in Bangsar…
and i told Chelle i felt like a FLAG with my cape flapping in the wind.
After taking pix on the road, they took more shots of us in a few boutiques.
They wanted us to ‘pretend’ like we’re shopping.
But Chelle and i don’t need no pretending.
We ended up SHOPPING FOR REAL
Thanks to Pion and Weng for the coverage,
looking forward to the article (tho i prollie won’t understand in Chinese -_-)
This time,
a knife was balancing precariously on the plate i was carrying,
dropped (of course) off it and clanged unto the floor.
At first i thought a bit of food had got onto the side of my phone,
and realised it was a damn crack when i tried to wipe it off.
SIGH!
I just spent RM400 to fix it a few months ago!
And now it’s broken again!
And WORSE, cos it can’t even sense my touch anymore.
I can’t use it at all.
Does anyone know whether this means i should just forget trying to fix it?
I was just so tired from my entire day
that i didn’t even feel anything for awhile.
Just a numb irritation that this HAD to happen.
RM400 could pay for half my plane ticket to Myanmar during Raya (Clem and i were discussing whether to go).
RM400 could pay the supermarket bills for a week.
RM400 could have paid for some nice things in Topshop :p
Then i started turning my thoughts around to worse things that could have happened.
At least i didn’t lose my camera, cos that would cost so much more and it’s been so good to me!
At least i didn’t have my handbag snatched.
At least i didn’t drop RM500 in the carpark (which has happened before -_-)
At least i didn’t bang my car.
I thought of all the bad things that DIDN’T happen to feel that the iPhone cracking was a minor incident in comparison.
Clem was giving me sad looks cos i must’ve looked sad for breaking it.
I looked at him and pondered for a moment:
At least i have Clem…
Correction, at MOST i have Clem.
Tianna had a small party in her house last Fri
as she’s leaving to study and live in France this Monday.
I’m so happy and excited for her!
Really think she’ll fit in there with her niceness and love for life.
Seriously… i wish i got to know her better sooner.
I feel lucky enough that i got to spend time with her on hols in Laos.
She’s like the freaking nicest person i know… top of my list anyway.
She never talks too loudly, is soft spoken, polite, cheeky, interesting,
and remembers everything we talk about (which i fail at).
There was once we talked about some psyllium husk thing (she’s really healthy which i aspire to be) and i forgot all about it.
When we met up at the Rollin Sixers album launch party,
Tianna handed me this vacuum-packed thing that looked like a rectangle sponge.
I stared at it in absolute confuzzlement,
thinking oh man i forgot what we talked about, what is this?! After a few minutes of thinking it’s definitely a sponge,
i broke and asked her what it was.
She laughed and told me she bought some for me since i said i’d like to try it.
HOW NICE IS THAT.
Imported expensive healthy stuff ok!
Anyway yeah, i’m hoping she’ll meet some super nice hot French guy who will sweep her off her feet and live happily ever after.
Pix from the party:
Azwin Andy + JP
I quipped ‘yay i can put pictures of famous people on my blog!’ then Azwin made that face. -_-
You should check out JP’s instagram’s on his twitter feed! Really nice pictures. Including some of Oli.
I whacked Clem why can’t he take pictures of me like that too.
He called JP a bastard for showing him up and walked away.
Nick and Steph are both in love and not on twitter.
They abhore against certain technologies.
Note: Never let Nick hold your BlackBerry. He’ll destroy it.
The Nambiar sisters at their best.
I love Tianna’s dress, saw it in Topshop!
Rudy is trying to grow a moustache of some sort.
He says people still ask him where he works sometimes,
so i’m clarifying here that he’s on the Breakfast Show on Red FM.
He’s been waking up at 4:30am most of his working life so you gotta cut him some slack okay. Listen to him 6-10am on 104.9!
Steph and i are polka dot pals
Clem sibuk
me, Aps, Tianna, Steph, Oli
Me and shark pinata we didn’t end up playing with cos too busy talking/drinking.
Community Service Message: Don’t eat shark’s fin soup ok!
I’ve been refusing it for 4 years, even the fake ones.
By drinking fake shark’s fin soup, it still promotes shark’s fin as a symbol of wealth.
I really don’t think it’s in any way necessary!
I wish i was in Singapore this weekend!
What Women Want is having yet another shopping party:
this Saturday 12pm-5pm at MeatWorks ION Orchard
The party will feature a host of cult brands like SHoes Shoes SHoes, KLutched, Kiki Cult, Curly Sue Vintage, Simone and Jo& Jacqie.
Check out their Facebook Page *HERE*
Thanks to Spanish clothing label Bershka for inviting me to preview their store before it opened to the public!
I couldn’t make the preview night cos ’twas Daddy’s birthday (daddy > fashion)
so i dropped by its Mid Valley store today!
Bershka, which is also a sister company to Zara, will be opening a 2nd store in 1 Utama later this week.
The clothes are mostly casual and colourful,
so i foresee it being really popular with college students
especially since the prices are affordable.
There are also guys’ clothes, which i didn’t inspect very closely haha sorry
Leather jackets for RM499 were tempting.
But like i REALLY need a leather jacket when i’m not going anywhere chilly this year -_-
One-shoulder bodysuit was tempting too
Mustard and blue purses were around RM100 (sorry i forgot)
and big colourful bags are RM159
These blue shorts are only RM69!
Colourful scarves for RM59 each *approve*
Peeptoes for RM279.
I really liked the green ones but they didn’t have my size anymore!
Mustard cardi and turquoise skinny jeans from Bershka.
The company gave me some coupons to bring some Bershka home with me,
so this is what i chose (including the jeans)
The peeptoes! Since i couldn’t get the green, i got the white.
I currently don’t have a single pair of white heels (or any that i like anyway) so this was a wardrobe basic i was filling up
Headband for RM29
I got a cool superholey black sweater too (RM159) but i didn’t take a picture of it
These orange-red shorts (RM119) also come in other colours
but you know me, i went for the brightest
only to come home and realise i have another pair of shorts in almost the same colour.
Was waving both of them in the air at Clem, going “Dammit! Why!” And his measured response: “This is what happens when you have too many clothes.”
He’s starting to sound like my father and brother.
