Some women are shy to talk about their vajayjays but i ain’t one of them.
I remember being interviewed years ago by an 8TV team who asked me to name three things i’d bring with me if i was trapped on an island. ‘Tampon’ was one of my quick responses before they cut the take. Apparently, ‘tampon’ is not an appropriate answer for national television.
Why not!?
I used to tell people tampons were one of the best inventions in the world! (And then they’d stare at me like i lost it. Honey, i lost it when i was BORN.)
When i was in my mid-20s, girl friends would ask me to recommend which gynae i go to. When i asked which one they were currently seeing, they’d say none. And i’d be all worked up saying things like, “You never got a PAP smear in your life?!” before registering myself to: “Oh well, at least you’re starting to see one now!”
There are many parts of a woman that she strives her best to take care of – hair, face, skin, teeth, nails, feet – but her intimate area is really one of the most important of all. [Guys, if you feel shy to continue reading, you may stop. Tho i think it’s ultimately very informative for you to know these things too. Who knows, you could impress your woman with your unabashed knowledge.]
A couple of my friends got UTI when we were in college, and i discovered that a few of the many causes for this painful infection is as simple as:
1) not drinking enough water daily;
2) holding your pee (if your body tells you it needs to pee, that’s because you SHOULD!); and
3) not washing oneself before/after sex, and not peeing after sex.
I (thankfully) never contracted UTI but it’s so easy cos statistics state that one in every five women will get it at least once in their lives.
What i *have* got before were a couple of bacterial infections when i was younger. It’s not like i’m dirty! Clem has even mocked me as having OCD so you can imagine how i’m bothered by even a little dust on the sink!
A bacterial infection can come from something as minuscule as the wrong underwear. They say cotton underwear is the healthiest for us in our tropical weather, as other synthetic fabrics can increase heat and moisture down there – resulting in *boom* bacteria overgrowth and infections.
Another major reason for infections is how we cause our pH value in our intimate area to go haywire. Just when you think your everyday body wash is sufficient for washing your privates, i’ll tell you right now – it ISN’T!
Our vajayjays have a much lower and more acidic pH level in comparison to our body skin, which is around 3.8 to 4.5. Body washes typically range in pH levels of 5.5 to 7, meaning we are increasing the pH level in our intimate area’s environment by succumbing to body wash, and therefore putting ourself at higher risk for infections.
Which is why i was quite pleased to be asked to write about Lactacyd® – the No.1 Feminine Hygiene wash brand in Malaysia and worldwide. (I’m all for spreading the word for us to take better care of ourselves!) It is highly prescribed by doctors and trusted by women worldwide for over 25 years, having undergone strict clinical trials and been proven to not only be safe but effective.
Lactacyd® is made from natural mild milk-based ingredients like Lactic Acid and Lactoserum (which exist naturally in the female intimate area). Lactic Acid: keeps the pH level balanced and contributes to the growth of GOOD bacteria Lactobacilli. Lactoserum: provides extra moisturizing for the skin and enhances the effectiveness of Lactic Acid.
Lactacyd® offers a comprehensive range of products suitable for women at every stage of life.
The ones above are: pH3.5 – normalises pH with lactic acid and natural milk extract Lasting Freshness – with Lactic Acid and natural refreshing babydoll scent Nourish – extra moisturizing with 10% more milk extract
However, the brand has just launched two new variants which i think you’d find quite appealing!
Lactacyd®‘s new Revitalize is enriched with Vitamin E, collagen, and moisturizers to help keep the skin around the intimate area supple, firm, and youthful. Think of it as an anti-ageing product for you down there 😉
In a product test conducted on 120 Asian women,
– 98% witnessed moisturizing effect in 4 weeks
– Nearly 50% witnessed firming effect in 4 weeks
The other new Lactacyd® product, is White Intimate – a feminine wash that keeps you healthy, and lightens the darkening of skin caused by sweat and friction from tight clothing.
White Intimate contains – Algowhite: Marine-based whitening agent, lightens by reducing melanin synthesis, exfoliates by activating the cells thereby reducing darkness, protects by inhibiting free radicals. Actipone-B: Marine-based whitening agent, lightens the skin by inhibiting the production of melanin, a pigment found in skin which is the origin of skin darkness.
In a product test conducted on 100 Asian women,
– 90% witnessed visible lightening in 12 weeks
– 67% witnessed visible lightening in 4 weeks
I tried both Revitalize and White Intimate, and can’t decide which i like better so i keep them in two bathrooms in my house. The consistency of the wash is more slick and easier to wash than body wash (seriously girls! You have to stop using that for your poon!) and i love that the scents are really fresh and not overpowering.
Besides the feminine washes, Lactacyd® also has Daily Feminine Wipes which benefits one better instead of using any other wet wipes, cos just like the feminine washes, it’s dedicated to be gentle with the right pH balance for your intimates.
This is a festival staple, let me tell you that. Or if you have a schedule that requires you to be out and running around all day.
I think many women are unaware of the care they should undertake for a body part so precious and sensitive, and Lactacyd® is something that every lady should own! Don’t stinge when it comes to loving your body part that gives you pleasure and babies!
Lactacyd® is dermatologically-tested safe and suitable for sensitive skin.

Ahhh if you’ve noticed, i’ve changed the layout of my blog slightly, so i can post BIGGER pictures! I must say that the reason for this was looking at some of my gorgeous Bali photos and feeling that they deserved a wider width than just 500 pixels! But for now, you’ll have to bear with same-sized pictures cos i edited this little bunch last week.
We haven’t been to Bali for… a year? I must have gone a dozen times, and recently felt that i owe it to the rest of South East Asia to visit different countries there too, so i’ve been keeping myself away from Bali for awhile. Still, there is NO PLACE like Bali. As usual, when i looked out the window, i thought happily to myself, “I’m home!!!”
I was leaning on Clem with my spike bracelet and didn’t realise i was poking marks into him till he showed me. Whoops. You’re not bleeding are you?
For our first night in Bali, we stayed in Villa Bunga Hotel which was very near the villas we’d move into the following days. I’ve never felt it worth it to stay in a private villa ever since one of our past experiences where AirAsia delayed our flight and i lost HALF THE TIME i could have had in my nice villa on the first night!
I had some food on the plane but Clem didn’t. Poor man was tired from working so hard, he passed out. We went to get some grub before… cocktail time.
I almost didn’t go for the Mindvalley event last night.
Almost.
But something inside me kept on tugging at me to JUST GO.
So i did, and i’m so GLAD I DID.
I came home inspired, happy, a little bit okay, quite drunk, and even DREAMT about new ideas i want to see through.
OK i need to explain a little on what Mindvalley is…
Taken from their FB page: “Mindvalley is one of the world’s largest online publishers in the personal growth industry. We’re a close-knit team of 65 (mostly) young, positive and passionate people from 30 countries with one big hairy goal: to touch 500 million lives by 2050.”
Their mission: “To touch 500 million lives through kick ass ideas, entrepreneurial breakthroughs, unbridled enthusiasm, unlimited happiness, inspiration, cutting edge parenting techniques, and transformational ideas that let people achieve their dreams.”
It sounds crazy huh? But their energy is so infectious, i truly believe they’re going to be able to reach that goal. They’ve already been the recipient of the World’s Most Democratic Workplace Award four years running. And recently got awarded for one of the top 10 coolest offices in the world.
I’ve gone for one of their little gatherings years ago, when they first started in KL, but that has expanded to a magnificent new office with a treehouse, ‘garden’ and a secret room!
Some crappy pictures i took last night. My excuse is that i was also balancing a glass of wine.
To see some MUCH BETTER pictures of their office, click *here*.
The reason we were invited last night was for the unveiling of Project Renaissance, which is their latest experiment to build new models for:
– creating world-changing entrepreneurs in KL
– redesigning the Malaysian (and later global) education system
– pioneering new ways of work
– supporting the arts and culture
– turning KL into one of the top twenty places in the world to start a dot com
I was most excited to hear about efforts to change the education system in Malaysia. I’ve always felt that our country’s future as a whole is going to suffer if something wasn’t done about this; and i think it’s an amazing initiative taken upon by Mindvalley to get driven, creative and intelligent people together to share ideas, inspire each other, and actually REDESIGN a system.
But who are these creative and intelligent people doing the work?
It’s you. It’s me. It’s all of us.
Mindvalley believes that each one of us is a genius, and we all have an idea to bring to the table. To push our growth, they’ve started an annual non-profit event called Awesomeness Fest.
“Awesomeness Fest is an event that bring together people who are by nature, driven to change the world. Entrepreneurs, authors, teachers, mavericks, artists and visionaries. Here, you get powerful training, profound mind shifts, groundbreaking ideas, deep connections and unique opportunities to give back, so you can play an even bigger game and significantly expand your ability to accomplish bold things.”
And FROM Awesomeness Fest, came the birth of another new idea for an equally inspirational event that can be run more regularly, called Incitement.
It was shared that Incitement was such a great practice that it has already been replicated in the US.
There are a lot of exciting things happening at Mindvalley… and i must add to this post that the company was founded by Vishen – do click on his name to read more, it’s worth it. Vishen, who has spoken alongside the likes of Richard Branson and the Dalai Lama, is a very engaging speaker and you can get a glimpse of that in the two videos below.
They are so well worth your time to watch. Make sure you do okay!!!
OK that’s all! I just wanted to share this cos they made me feel excited that as a freelancer, i have SOMEWHERE to go to, to grow my ideas and myself, to mix with like-minded people, get inspired, LEARN more, and gather necessary skills i’m lacking to really push myself.
I was asked to visit this website called Kwerkee cos it’s supposed to have lots of ‘quirky’ gifts one can buy anyone, be it boyfriend, girlfriend, mom, dad, sibling, friend, etc.
And… what happened was me buying a lot of presents for MYSELF.
:p
I saw this beautiful Moon Clock for RM223 and thought how i needed a clock to furnish my new apartment… i haven’t started buying anything yet, till i saw this clock!
It’s gonna go in the bedroom, and match my galaxy lights Clem got me!
Since this new place i’m decorating is going to have Clem living in it too, i thought it’d be fair to have his input on some deco and design features. If it were up to me alone, the place might end up looking like a fantasy fairyland + carnival.
So i bought it too. We think it’d go nicely in the kitchen.
Who knows, i might put it in my walk-in wardrobe instead cos i got these larger-than-life grinning rabbit and cat hangers. They’re made out of white wood and i thought it’d match quite nicely with the white wardrobes i’m planning for! They’re also from Kwerkee but i can’t find the pictures on the website anymore, sales move fast in there! Guess you can see what it looks like when they arrive 😀
I asked Clem, “What do you think? They look so FUN!”
And he said, “Well, you’re an adult… you do what you want.”
But they’re RM40 so i figured i should STOP buying unnecessary things and get furniture first -_- *acting adult*
There are heaps of other interesting stuff on Kwerkee which i assure will get you spending a lot of time surfing the website! There are different stores within the website. Lots of stores. 0_o
In another store, i saw this Ring Holder Stand that i can say is VERY useful, cos i have a similar one myself! It be a great gift for the ladies. It’s something we’d ALWAYS use, and it looks so good on the dressing table.
Kwerkee also has designer household items for sale, like Balvi. The brand has been around since 1965 and “provides useful products with a contemporary design.”
There’s also a Brandani store, where i got one of my clocks from.
“The Italian company known for its great traditions and experience, mindfulness to new trends, good taste and market awareness have created a range of many articles both for gifts and for the home. The designs which incorporate novelty and sophistication seamlessly stem from a strong Tusan bond, forging “The Italian Style” evident throughout the collection and appreciated by èlite customers the world over.”
OK enough of kitchen stuff, seriously there are loads on Kwerkee that you should just surf and stare at for yourself. Great gift ideas for friends with homes, or your mom even! Speaking of moms there also lots of sleek baby items there. I say sleek cos they’re pretty classy baby things i don’t suppose a mommy friend would buy for themselves, so we could!
MEN ARE NOT FORGOTTEN at Kwerkee! If you’re looking for a decent Valentine’s present and don’t have time to troll the malls in search for something for him, a quicker answer might be here.
