FOR 30 minutes. Just 30 minutes to blog before i have to run out… but that’s not gonna happen.

I need to be in the middle of KL in less than hour. So.. i should just really stop typing and leave NOW.

Of flowers and blooms and happy drawings for happy people :)

I love taking personality tests cos you get to know things about yourself you never knew, through seemingly innocent questions. A valuable one i took before is called Wealth Dynamics, which tells you what kind of person and role you are in a business/project, and opens your eyes to the missing pieces of the jigsaw you have to find to complete the puzzle.

There are more fun ones too, like this personality test i filled out recently:

A common question is my favourite colour picked from a palette. I’d like to say yellow (cos it’s such a happy colour and my lucky colour for my animal year in 2013), but if i was being really honest, i’m obviously very much into red.

aa-red-joyce

I’ve had red hair numerous times, love wearing red lipstick, i even have red eyeshadow, and i have heaps of red clothes and accessories (ok fine, i have heaps of clothes and accessories full stop).

Another question i got is what attracts my attention most in a picture provided.
I immediately clicked the answer for the tree.

I am super distracted by trees and leaves and stones all the time! I remember once i was driving down the Penchala Link when a big beautiful leaf came floating and swirling about in the middle of the road. I stared it thinking WHAT A BIG BEAUTIFUL LEAF! AWWWW… and next thing you know, i took the wrong lane and ended up having to take a 20-minute detour -_-

If you’re wondering what test i took, it’s called The Bloom In You. You find out what kind of flower you are, which is then related to a pretty decent description of everything you may or may not know about yourself. I’m not gonna tell you what i got XD Guess you could try it out yourself to find out!

It’s not just about finding out subconscious characteristics about myself, but i get a little happy keepsake in theme with my bloom/personality too! These are limited edition tins that feature individual blooms/personalities, are made by Libresse and designed by local female artists.

I think it’s so awesome how more local female artists + illustrators + designers are getting the recognition they deserve! I am inspired by following some of them on social media – like Nini Marini@RedHongYi, and Hsulynn.

I googled up the artists who designed the limited edition Libresse tins and discovered one i really like cos her motto is “Happy Drawings for Happy People.” Sounds like me!

The piece above was exhibited in LA. See more of her work *here*

I’m excited to see what Gee Fan has come up with for the limited edition tins… i might just get what she’s done cos i like her art! 😛 Other local female artists’ work on the tins include Chan Wei Ling (who’s designed the Romantic Rose, and the Independent Calla Lily) and Wong Soo Fun (the Artistic Violet, and the Playful Tulip).

There are 5 different designs created thanks to a collaboration between Libresse and the local female designers, anyone can get these limited edition Libresse thematic tin cases (which holds a pack of Libresse Slim Pantyliners 32s) if you’re quick as they are only available while stocks last!

First and foremost tho, you gotta find out what bloom personality you are… 😉 Take The Bloom In You test *here*

Nine West /// Superdry @ Pavilion KL

Comments (0) Events

Thursday was a crazy day for me.

SweetEe and i had to transport all the store racks, furniture and stock to The School @ Jaya One to set up our pop up store (for POP) which will be there till end of February. We were being really ambitious by trying to carry everything ourselves… but we did it! Was all gross and sweaty after that ugh. Paid off our heavy lifting activities by having a nice Japanese lunch at Hanazen before i dashed off to KL for fittings and events, while she set up the furniture.

I managed to reach KLCC at 2:15pm, and my make up appointment at Shu Uemura was at 2:30… so i took the chance to sprint to Kinokuniya to buy some new reading material (didn’t get any of the books i wanted, but i did get a few others) before having my face put on professionally 😀

a-shu-uemura-klcc-ck

Thanks to CK at Shu Uemura KLCC for making me look all preetayh for the day!

Make up done at 3:25pm.
Had just enough time to reach my Ralph Lauren fitting at the Denim & Supply store at 3:30pm.
Tried out some clothes, fitting done, walked to my car, drove to Pavilion.
While in car, Amanda from RL told me that in my rush, i left my necklace in their dressing room -_-

4:10pm – arrived at Superdry store. Picked out clothes and did fitting for that night’s launch.
Also picked out other things i wanted so i could socialise proper later.

4:45pm – changed into my Nine West outfit while i was in the Superdry store (i think the staff must be wondering why they saw me wear three outfits in 30 minutes). Changed my shoes into Nine West shoes on a bench just before reaching the store…

5pm – Punctual for Nine West event! Discovered shoes were too loose -_- Changed into a smaller pair which was a biT too small… so suffered for 90 minutes in them.

After a few glasses of bubbly, the fashion show and lots of chattering away; i headed to Superdry (which is on the 4th Floor in Pavilion, further down from Topman)

This is my Superdry outfit! I really wanted to wear the pink sweater cos it’s so soft, and a sparkly sequin skirt that’s not too short so i figure i’m gonna be wearing it in daytime just cos’.

Superdry was super crowded…! I didn’t even see other friends whom i knew were there.

aa superdry-pavilion-1

I got a lot of winter wear for myself… including this white winter jacket for RM600 (i had 20% off) and i figured it’s about time i get myself ONE PROPER WARM jacket so i don’t DIE in minus temp.

aa-superdry-pavilion

I AM SO PREPARED FOR FRANCE! BRING IT -2°!

No i kid… it’d be swell if your temp could be around 18° but that’s wishful thinking.
Who knows, with global warming and all… :p

Regal Valet

Comments (0) Business, Tech & Gadgets, Luxury, tech

When i went to Koh Samui for a holiday, i thought it’d be the perfect time to send Stacey, my car, to Regal Valet for some TLC…

regal-valet-3

I know about Regal Valet cos it’s by Soo Jin, and he’s Azwin’s cousin who used to fetch me home from school a few times when i missed my bus :p He stayed across my house when we grew up, and i used to see him washing and polishing his car all. the. time.

I used to think, “Man… this guy is OBSESSED with his car…” And then my brother started doing it too and i assumed maybe all guys are like this.

What i thought is kinda cool, is that Soo Jin ended up making his obsessive passion into a business… by launching Regal Valet in TTDI, and more recently, in Bangsar (after you do the U-turn on Jalan Maarof, where Zinc and Bazarro used to be).

He had the idea of having a one-stop solutions specialist for cars, and it became a reality once he discovered a big enough customer base who appreciated and sought quality products and services.

His company caters not only for Auto-Detailing Solutions but other auto-related areas including AutoSkin Design, Bodyworks & Re-spraying, Automotive Tinting & Protective Films, Restoration Projects, and Auto-Repairs.

That’s Marcus and Soo Jin playing GTA in the Bangsar outlet.
I guess it’s a place guys hang out, talk about cars and play GTA… :p

regal-valet-4

Look at mah car! So pretty and shiny when i went to pick her up!!!

A week later, i sent this picture of my new bunny companion i bought from Ginger (in BV) to one of my group chats. Kenny replied, “Wow! Look at your car seats!”

regal-valet-after-interior

My bunny is quite upset for having attention detracted from him.

Total cost for what they did to Stacey this round was RM600 (paintwork recovery) + RM 400 (interior detailing). They have maintenance programs for a year which runs by every quarter, bi-monthly and monthly.

Some of my friends mentioned that it’s more expensive compared to other places who offer the same thing, so i thought i’d do Soo Jin the favour of posting here WHY Regal Valet charges more and provides a differentiation compared with other car detailers in the market:

Top 10 Points of Regal Valet Experience for signature Restoration – Paintwork Recovery + Interior Detailing Program:

  1. Vehicle is rinse thoroughly with plenty of water so that particles fall off the surface before washing.
  2. A 2-bucket grit guard – wash mitt system is utilized to rinse the vehicle down to prevent paintwork from damaging and developing from paintwork imperfections like swirl marks, scratches etc. Swirl marks and scratches caused damage to the paintwork and it will not reflect light, hence the car will look dull and old. The bucket for the body of the vehicle is only used to wash the body while the rims would be a separate bucket.
  3. Decontamination process is carried out to remove gradual accumulation of various surface contaminants such as road tar spots and grime that are too firmly bonded to be removed by normal washing alone.
  4. All edges, plastic and rubber parts of vehicle are taped with painters tape to avoid from burning caused by the foam pads during the paintwork recovery process.
  5. High–quality industrial materials from Germany that complies with automotive standards are utilized to remove surface imperfections permanently on modern ceramic/hard clear-coat. A flat surface of clear- coat that is free from paintwork imperfections tend to automatically shine and provide great reflection.
  6. Selections of quality paintwork protection programs are offered – Natural carnauba waxes/synthetic seals are used to protect clear-coat from external environments that cause oxidation, fading, cracking etc. Aside from protection, any selection of protection programs offers an ultra slick finish, deep warm gloss and mirror effect finish.
  1. Interior is detailed to perfection – leather seats are cleaned and conditioned to prevent induced cracking. Dashboard and door panels are nourished and protected to prevent from scorching sun that will cause fading in the long run. All car mats are cleaned to remove heavy dust.
  2. Super fluffy micro-fiber cloth is used to buff and wipe the surface of the clear-coat to prevent it from further development of paintwork imperfections. Our micro-fiber clothes are renewed on a periodic basis and what is used for a specific purpose stays on the particular part. For eg, cloths for mirrors are only used for mirrors etc.
  3. For every detailing session, the dusty doorjambs will be cleaned, rims will be polished to new, engine bay and compartment will be cleaned and detailed for a more effective healthy running engine, and exhaust tail pipes will be shined.
  4. Now that the restoration – paintwork recovery work is completed, its time to maintain your previous vehicle. Remember to give it a good wash once in every week and the paintwork protection program is crucial to be performed at least once every quarter as the protection on the vehicle acts as a sacrificial barrier to fight external environments. Hence, it’s fairly important that you return to us for a good maintenance and paintwork protection program.

They must be doing it wonderfully cos i saw many fancy customers’ cars in there…

They also have a Pick up/Delivery Service where you have the convenience of picking up the phone and scheduling for a detailing service without having to bring it to their locations. (They even provide flatbed tow truck services that will go to your doorstep.)
