I realise i don’t really write stuff that happens to me anymore
So i’m trying to again,
cos that is what i STARTED this blog for -_-

Two days ago, as Clem and i were taking the lift,
i tried to make him grab my butt and feel it cos i think i’m putting on weight.
The whole time he was like what are you DOING
and i was like what’s WRONG with you just feel it and tell me i’m imagining it goddammit!

When the lift doors opened at the lobby,
i walked out to see… a man looking at a screen
which happened to show all the security cameras’ views.

I could see all three lifts in real time.
And of course the cameras HAD to be placed at the back of the lift so the man probably saw our little struggle.

I ran out of the lobby in embarrassed laughter and turned to Clem,
“Since WHEN did they have that screen in the lobby??”
“Since always.”

Sheesh.
How come i never noticed it in the 8 months i’ve been going in and outta that lobby.

Yesterday morning my mum smsed me saying that a man tried to rob her outside our house.
He parked his car right in front of her as she got into her own car,
and jumped out to try to open her door with a weapon in his hand!
Thank God my mum has a habit of locking the door the moment she gets in…
She then pressed her horn till he ran off and the neighbours came outside to see what the fuss was.

I spent the whole day being pissed that we have to worry about our own safety outside the house.
And now she’s going to be scared every time she goes to work.

One of the worst things besides seeing your best friend cry,
is seeing your mum cry.

I was thinking whether i could buy her a pepper spray.
Or a taser.
But all those things can only be used in close contact.

I wish i could buy her a gun so she can shoot the fucker or any other if they try going near her again.
I really do.
I really wish i could buy her a gun cos we’re not even fucking safe in our own driveways.

She doesn’t even want to make a police report cos the last two times she did (for other incidences) she said they were “unhelpful and cocky”.
So how?
The police that we pay our taxes for don’t ronda enough to prevent this shit,
and we don’t even feel comfortable going to them in times of trouble?
Fucking rubbish.

Well now i got worked up about that again i don’t feel like writing about other things that have been happening cos they pale in comparison.

BlaHHH.

Sicko

I love watching documentaries.
It opens up your eyes to topics that are usually vague,
and i have a penchant for statistics and actual facts.

I know i’m a bit quite late (this movie came out in 2007) but i just watched Michael Moore’s Sicko.

michael moore sicko

It was brilliant.
If you haven’t watched it i highly recommend that you do!!

It made me think that where you’re born or choose to live really depends on your luck… and life.

Throughout the movie showing how corrupted the health + insurance companies are in US,
and the suffering thousands of their people go through if and when they get seriously ill,
the movie also presented the situations of people living in other countries where health care is a national service.

(Of course, there was backlash from other publications and individuals who said Moore failed to mention the long queues and usage of modern technology in those other countries i.e. UK; but i’m just gonna talk about how the movie affected me okay!)

Canada was first exemplified as a country that provides universal health care,
followed by a case study on UK.

As i watched it, i couldn’t help ticking off in my head THOSE WOULD BE GOOD COUNTRIES TO LIVE IN BECAUSE IF I GOT SICK I WOULDN’T HAVE TO WORRY

Like here in KL for instance, of course i have insurance.
But truth be told (touch wood) if i got into an accident,
would i really remember or be conscious to tell people which hospitals i can go to?
And (touch wood again) if i got a serious illness like cancer,
living in a country where all treatments are provided for free would be a dream.

Imagine working so hard all your life… and having to flush all that $ down the drain (well not exactly but you know what i mean) on health care if we got sick!
Health is what keeps us working. And working for.
Working to buy ourselves better options in case we get sick.

Back to the movie, after Canada and UK,
France was next shown for providing free health care,
not to mention… domestic help provided by their government after you give birth.
They showed a new mom having a young girl over to help with the house, baby and laundry.
And this young girl’s job is paid for by the French government.

-_-

I turned to Clem, “You get free MAIDS in France?!”
Clem: I didn’t know that…
Me: Jeez!

I kinda get why he’s so… relaxed.
The French people are so well taken care of!

They get free health care,
money when they don’t have jobs -_-,
money every month when they have a baby to raise it,
and free help to come in when you’ve just had a baby.
Their men even get paid paternity leave. -_- (though not as much as Sweden)

“That’s it,” i say to Clem, “If we have a kid, we’re gonna have it in France.”
“South of France is a nice place to live…”

It does sound nice.
I have no idea what our future will hold, but i do know i cannot survive in France without knowing how to speak French.
Hell, i’m kinda scared about surviving 3 weeks of Christmas holidays with his family in Paris this December.

And thus, i’m starting my French classes at the Alliance Francaise next week (i managed to make the late intake for end of the year).
I’ll be taking 3 classes a week, 2 hours per class, up till i fly off.

Haven’t taken a class of any sort for a long time…
so i’m quite excited!
I wonder whether i’ll make any friends hee hee.

How to Choose a Car.

Comments (1) Sponsored Post

1. Looks

There are some things you buy,
based wholly on looks.

Scratch that, there are a LOT of things we buy,
based wholly on looks!

From phones…

iphone 4

to laptops…

hp vivienne tam notebook
to shoes.

kurt geiger shoes

We make our decision based on how the product looks,
because in some subliminal sense,
the product reflects the type of person we are.

If it doesn’t look good, i ain’t putting it near me (i.e. Crocs).
I don’t care how comfortable it is or how well it works
IF IT DOESN’T LOOK EQUALLY AS GOOD OR BETTER.

I want form AND function.

Seeing that a car is something i’d be using everyday,
let aside having to look at everyday,
and being seen in everyday,
the car MUST reflect my character as best as possible!

For example, Kubhaer was telling me about being in a smuggling route to Iran the other day,
and he added that he was in this particular car (i’m not going to name the brand here).
The moment he said that, all the adjectives i had initially connected to his experience – wild, dangerous, adventurous – dropped off immediately.
“Why that car?” i asked.
It obviously wasn’t his decision to be driving around the desert in that car.
He agreed instead of retaliating.
“It’s such a… non-exciting car to have.”
“It’s for people who are safe parents and have safe lives”   :xwhatevah:

It’s not that we don’t WANT safe cars (that’s just stupid)
but we’d like our cars to LOOK edgy and adventurous.

The way a car looks, really does express a character,
as Disney beautifully exemplifies   :xlaughing:

2. Excellent Suspension

All cars nowadays only have a few different factors that help you firm up your decision, and one of it is its suspension.

Seeing the endless potholes and bumps that plague our roads,
you need a car with suspension so spectacular you’ll be thanking for it every day.

3. Comfortable Seats

One thing i didn’t think of looking into when choosing my car,
was whether the backseats were comfortable.

My driver’s seat is lovely fine and dandy,
but when i drove AshleyTheMonkey and QueenKanch to Sungai Wang last week,
Ash said my back seat was quite uncomfortable (despite multiple toys and hula hoops to distract her).

Reason i wrote all that, is because a car has been released that boasts the aforementioned
1) looks
2) excellent suspension and
3) comfortable seats

With a new front end to its look, it’s the new Peugeot 207!

I think fondly of Peugeot, as i used to drive it for just over a year.
Might i add, that it was a company car so i was very lucky to be able to use it!
I even got my Defensive Driver’s Cert with that car   :xshy:

peugeot 207

I really loved it, even called her Lucinda,
and was very sorry to have to give it back when i left the company.

Now the new Peugeot 207 is reigniting my memories of Peugeot…
except that it looks MORE SPORTY than it used to!

peugeot 207

If i had to pretend that this car was a character, i’d say:
It looks like it knows how to zip everywhere,
pick up some people,
park at a party,
drive to the beach,
while being sturdy and safe.
And it doesn’t look like it’d have a boring life, at all.

 :xlaughing:

Other Peugeot 207 attributes i wish my current car has

peugeot 207

Tiptronic shift!
My ex-Peugeot was always on tiptronic,
it’s way more fun to drive
and i could always speed up and slow down as and when i wanted,
without tekaning and pleading inwardly that the car would just listen to me.

peugeot 207

The Peugeot 207 has auto wipers and headlights.
Which is GREAT for forgetful/blue people like me.
I always make sure my headlights are on when it’s so much as dusk.
Even so, there has been at least one occasion i just FORGOT.

>.<

peugeot 207

Big boot!
Plus the backseat can fold 60:40 so long items are easy to transport if necessary.

Check out the video taken below of an extreme test.
I wish i could drive like that!

I think the video is simple and makes its point on how great the car is to handle.

The best thing is, because we’re all so obsessed about looks these days,
Peugeot has made sure there is a Peugeot for everyone…

I’d like the cute sexy convertible please!

And this souped up one is made for men.

A temptation is an act
that looks appealing to an individual.

It is usually used to describe acts with negative connotations and as such,
tends to lead a person to regret such actions,
for various reasons: legal, social, psychological (including feeling guilt), health, economic, etc.”
