Having the internet is one thing,
but having the TIME to surf is now something precious to me!
I have just enough time to work and sleep, so surfing time is not high on the priority list for daily activities
When i DO have time to surf nowadays, oh, how i cherish it!
I wriggle in my seat with one leg up (cos i’m a chinese uncle like that)
have a glazed look on my face,
and Clem knows that whatever he tells me won’t be heard (much).
We just stocked up on Dove chocolate at home,
so with my surfing time, comes SILKY SMOOTH chocolate-nibbling time.
(Oh and I digress: Dove chocolate now comes in 80g packs! And their dark chocolate now comes with 66% cacao. More cacao for the clickin :D)
It’s easy to use one hand to surf and the other to hold a bar of chocolate
as i click different links maniacally and soak in all the information and images
Before you read the list of my Top Sites i visit,
i have to add that this is my CURRENT list of my fave sites.
I’m also not adding the obvious like Time.com, NY Times, Guardian UK, Style.com and the like, which i surf regularly.
The problem(?) with me is once i like a blog, i usually end up reading all its archives till i OD on it, then shift my attention to something else, the former to be forgotten forever.
I used to read CrimeLibrary incessantly… and i barely visit it anymore.
Headed by Hilary Kerr and Katherine Power, WhoWhatWear has been a long-favourite fashion website of mine which has stayed on top of my surf list throughout the past 3 years.
And 3 years in internet time, is a long time!
It’s such easy surfing with lots of fashion pictures which are fashforward and fabulous.
Having a handful of fashion icon contributors don’t hurt either.
Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific has no fear of colour, texture or print,
with featured pieces i’d love to steal for my own wardrobe any time!
Am not surprised why she’s already been featured in media like MTV Style, Nylon Korea, etc.
Olivia of Lust ForLife is fashionably adventurous with pictures i haven’t got bored of looking at.
The pieces she owns makes me go ahhhhhhhhhh in envy
and there’s usually an item in every style shot of hers that makes me go I WANT THAT.
It may be bias to list this down since i founded it,
but i’m going to admit that i didn’t read it for awhile.
Their content has taken an upward turn of late,
bringing me back to clicking on it whenever i need some online distraction that doesn’t involve my credit card.
I wish i had time for a tumblr; but handling this blog, office job and my social life takes up more than enough time!
So i appease myself by visiting other tumblrs.
Since a tumblr is kinda like half a blog, 2x tumblrs make 1 blog!

What i love about tumblrs is that i can end up on SO many other tumblrs from the one i initially started on.

I love reading facts that will never save my life,
and this website has the most random Top lists from Top 10 Most Bizarre Modern Jobs, to 10 Greatest Killers of Man.
You can spend hours on this site and feel your brain whirring after.
Free ‘Me Time’ is usually spent indulging in watching History Channel documentaries about the universe and aliens.
An online outlet for me to get some geek time in, is here.
Or sometimes Wired.com.
A website i’ve been visiting for a long time, it’s filled with inspiring pictures and little text for quick surfing on the latest in architecture, design, travel, fashion and a LOT more.
I’m pretty sure i’ve read EVERY SINGLE entry on the archives for architecture and design!
At times i just need some aimless surfing for interesting tidbits that i don’t mean to find.
The last two websites i’m linking here are great for exactly that.

Weeks ago Petrina showed me this website selling animal costumes
and i didn’t hesitate a second to buy a Care Bear one immediately.
I wasn’t planning to wear it for Halloween…
it was just something I WANTED.
A Care Bear costume.
Just in case… you know, urm you have to cheer up a sick kid or jaded adult.
The costume arrived a prompt 5 working days after i exercised my cc,
and i quietly put it on in the living room while Clem was reading in the bedroom…
then JUMPED IN and hopped around.
Between our laughter i heard him wheeze “ah my gad you are so psycho”.
If i’m going to wear a label, i might as well go all the way
We had The Hill’s Yelloween party to go to on Sunday night,
and i was SO LAZY to put on make up…
plus Dik was trying to convince me it’d be okay to go as a Care Bear even though the theme was specifically ‘Scary Chic’. “You can be a Scare Bear,” he said. “But Dax told me it’s supposed to be chicccc”
In the end, i thought i’d have some balls and just WEAR it.
And urm if noone else was dressed up,
maybe noone would really recognise me under that hood anyway…
Clem was laughing the whole way while i put it on
and said people in the apartment will think he’s my father taking me out to trick or treat. Prollie.
We arrived at The Hill… and walked in to see… everyone wearing black (zzzz). “Oh baby. Noone is dressed up,” Clem said on the verge of laughing. “Ughhhhhhh i don’t care i will rock this care bear outfitttt”
The first person i bumped into who was actually in a costume,
was Kenny.
“Oh! You’re in costume!” i grinned at his genie outfit “Yeahhhhh!!! I thought everyone would dress up..!!!”
I couldn’t help thinking – Great, so only the bloggers dress up is it -_-

Later on, i spotted a fellow furry friend!
I went over to poke him even though i had (and still have) no idea who it was underneath.
If he had looked like the Donnie Darko bunny, no way would i have gone near him.
If you thought my outfit wasn’t scary, i think i actually DID scare someone!
There was this waiter who refilled my glass with Veuve Cliquot and i chirped, “Let me shine some LOVE ON YOU!”
He gave me this wide-eyed ‘wtf’ look before backing away and running to the other side of the group…
On the OTHER hand, this girl bounced up to me and shrieked, “Oh my god Care Bear! I LOVE Care Bears!!” I didn’t quite know what to say except “We love you too!” As if i represent all Care Bears in the world (which maybe i do how would you know).

and i was like ‘feck no!’
So i went as a pseudo skeleton.
A fashionable one.
Faux bone + skull necklace was stumbled upon in Star Enterprise for RM12 while running errands.

They said they were waiting for us outside,
and when i arrived, i glanced at these two vampires thinking they were part of the Hanger event cos they were SO dressed up.
And only when Lucas came RIGHT UP TO MY FACE did i realise it was him!
They went all out with the make up, painted black nails,
and Lucas even changed his phone cover to a vampire one. -_- “It’s all in the detail,” he showed it off to me.

People who see it for the first time always comment on how cool the camera looks,
followed by ooh-ing and aah-ing about the different art filters.
THEN they plot on how to steal it from me when i’m not looking

I still use it up till now and am so emotionally attached to it cos it’s traveled with me across dozens of countries and captured so many happy pictures!
And now… there’s a new camera in my house that threatens to overthrow its spot…

Besides taking it out to events and parties with me,
i did some test shots around the house because i feel that if you can see a difference with pictures taken in a typical space, then the shots don’t lie!
Besides having the world’s fastest Auto Focus with its new FAST AF system,
the PEN Lite 3 has a 35 AF area points(you know that little green box that pops up in your screen when you focus on something? That’s ONE AF area point).
And now the PEN Lite 3 has 35… compared to the PEN 1 which only has 11 (it’s okay.. i still love you!!)
The PEN Lite 3 is also the first PEN series camera with a 3.0-inch flip-out widescreen LCD monitor which helps snap photos at tricky angles!
Besides that it has the whole shebang of 1080i Full HD movie recording,
high ISO up to 12800(!)
and a new TruePic VI image engine that consists of ‘Fine Detail Processing’, ‘Real Colour Technology’ and ‘Advanced SAT’.
I spotted some insect (that was so tiny i couldn’t even see what it was in real life!)
and used the Nature Macro scene option to quickly snap it.

No more having to photoshop pictures into black&white and contrasting it,
all automatic now!
I took a scenery shot using the Diorama art filter,
which instantly makes pictures look like tilt shift photography!
