TimeOut was launched in KL this month and i got to view the cover two months after the shoot.
DidiBuli and i were arguing over the air-con in the office.
She preferred it switched off, saying it was too cold.
I kept on going, “Fuck… it’s damn hot okay!”
In the end, she picked up TimeOut from another table and flapped it in my face, “Yeah Joyce! We know you like it cold okay!!!”

The creative team did a great job!
They had one of their three launches in Frangipani on Changkat BB last Tuesday.
“Look, it’s you!” exclaimed AdamPoserPan.
We’d bumped into each other at the entrance and waited together for our (late) friends to arrive.
I looked over at images of the cover, placed on a car windshield and a banner outside.
And saw many many images of myself staring up at the sky.
“So weird… i’m so not used to it!”

He insisted, saying he’s designing me a haute couture dress just for me!, and i happily agreed.
Few days later Shantini from Tattle mag called me on the phone, “Are you going for the MIFA thing in April?”
“Yeah, i guess so, Justin Yap asked me to be his muse.”
“Ha? Really?”
Seems she called cos someone else asked her to ask me to be their muse.

Adam kept on saying how we HAD to watch one of their colleagues from Astro, Sebastian, perform his card tricks, so i was like, “Okay!” (cos i’m all for magic tricks) and dragged Mark and Justin to watch too.
But his tricks were good.
Seriously good.
Like, David Blane kinda stuff going on that made all our jaws drop and me go, “What the fuckkkkk, you’ve got some voodoo shit going on!”
There was one where he made Mark hold two cards (say two queens) and we all get to see that, yes, he IS holding on to the two cards without letting go.
Then when Mark flips them over, they’re two other cards instead.
But Sebastian never holds them.

Priya, J. Ku, and i headed to Frangi to try out some cocktails that were to be prepared by some mixologists specially brought in.
Also, LaughingLoga asked me to go and i never turn down seeing one my most favourite people in the world! *flings arms out happily*
Turned out i’ve met the mixologists before, and there was Ace (who still hasn’t told me where he works!) who was layaning us like crazy and bringing us crazy delicious cocktail after cocktail.
Saw a slew of people coming in red from the OK party on AHR.
“It was horrible and sucked. All these freeloaders just surrounded the bar!” said Ratna.
“Yeah… i saw the invite on Facebook and it looked like no invite was needed… that’s why i thought erh lazy la.”
The cocktails were really delish.
I had some cucumber martini with lychee and apple rum.
And another served in a martini glass with honey at the bottom which you tasted with a straw before sipping at the drink.
And a spicy one with chilli in it that burnt your lips after licking them with your tongue.
And oh, so many i can’t remember anymore!
Was really budak baik, tasted most of them but didn’t finish them all, and left promptly at 2am to sleep for work.

This is a bit late (yar, it’s considered late when it comes to blogs cos ability to put it up the night itself or the morning after is its USP!) but i had to blog it anyhoo.
I went for the BMW F1 party last year, and honestly speaking, it was such a great party (with a massive budget) that i took so many pictures, we all looked too happytrashed for our own good, hence never putting them up.

Basically there were too many pictures and they were taking too much time to put up!
This year round, a friend got me passes (cos i urm really couldn’t be bothered to call bm ppl) on the account i blogged about it.
So here i am blogging about it! (tho it’s a better i get made to blog about things like this else i’d be really lazy and backlogged)!
The location was the same as last year’s (near KLCC) but it was one storey instead of two like ’07.
Dahlah constructing a venue from flat ground is impressive.
But seeing people like the rest of my family members all own BMWs (with the exception of their daughter who spends her fortune on fashion), i would think they’d cash out on enough BMW fans to have returns in some sort.
To spend on ppl during the F1.
Mm hmm.
Someone said to me, “Why do you have to blog about the BMW event?”
“I said i would!” i answered.
“They don’t need any publicity, everyone knows they throw the best party every year!”
“Yeah, people like us know. What about those who don’t get invited?”
“I always get invited.”
“Yeah. Cos you’re white,” i shot back.
Couldn’t help taking a cheap shot.
When we registered to go into the event, they handed us ear plugs to which some of us girls were going, “Mmm mhh, yeah, so not glam, we’re so not going to wear them!”
30 minutes later when the revving of the engine was so loud we thought we might damage our eardrums on long-term basis, we hurriedly chucked our bags unto the bar and plugged our ears.

BMW had some percussion people down from Singapore perform, before DJ Sky Nellor (who also performed the year before).
She’s infamous for her, urm, lack of wearing a bra.
A typical Sky Nellor conversation would go like this:

“Yeah! The one who doesn’t wear a bra right?”

I went with my fabulous (yeah, i’m going the stylo nancy yeoh expression way) friend, Justin Yap (i’m plugging him kau kau, don’t mind me).
He came to the office before we left for the event to dress me up in one of his 2006 creations.
Honestly, i’m a dress wearer. I love dresses.
I buy dresses.
I keep these dresses.
But.
Never in my life, has a dress made me feel so much like a woman.
I was posing (sendiri in a corner) like a peacock, moving differently, and feeling differently altogether!
Couldn’t help telling him about it and he got awfully pleased.
I don’t know how to explain it, i never knew a dress could make me feel that way.
I felt invincibly sexy and well, ready to walk into any party feeling like i could conquer its crowd.

I *tried* having a healthy Sunday a couple of weeks ago.
After drinking every day for events and parties, i tend to have this delusional effort to have a healthy diet by eating well, wholesome food.
And where better to do it then Marmalade.
Went to the Mont Kiara outlet.
I had some celery (i adore celery!) + apple + cucumber juice.
And chicken stew. And boiled broccoli.
Then RowdyRudy had to FUCK up my health plan by whining and convincing me to have drinks.
On a Sunday afternoon.
I have to say, last time, i would drink any freaking time of the day (okay, fine, i still do at times >.<).
Just that nowadays… i try to cut down for health’s sake and… just to make myself feel better la okay.
