I’m playing a game called “let’s play catch up with all the life events you have failed to blog about in the past year”.
It’s draining but i’m starting to gain speed!
This is a post about how i spent NYE (i know it’s April now -_-).
Way back in September, i had the awesome foresight of booking Teratak Bonda at Awanmulan
cos i knew i didn’t want to go far for New Year’s (what with wanting to spend Christmas in KL)
and having just returned from Japan and London in the few months prior.
I sent an email out to a bunch of friends, and let it be on a first come first serve basis,
and it ended up being me, Jun, Tania, Jess, Danny, Deep and Aurora!
Jun and i stopped by the Seremban market on the way for lunch at the hawker centre upstairs! YUMS
Day 1 dinner – Jun did the food
Deep took charge over the bar.
He just opened his own bar called The Locker & Loft in Damansara Kim!
Think it was about time Deep. You drink more than anyone i know, blog about alcohol, founded the Malaysian Alcohol Consumer Rights Group, and countless other alcohol-related activities that shall remain censored.
I took charge over the… colourful stuff?
Starting strong that night
Jess and Sue! Sue’s one of the CUTEST people i know! She and Aaron were staying next door and they came over to hang.
I feel like printing this pic out to hang on my wall cos it’s just adorable.
Tania brought Aurora, a visiting Italian who runs an international non-profit startup.
Alfredo, our pet mascot.
Jun and Danny letting off fireworks (i don’t seem to remember this part already)
Tania!
Jun cooking supper
Deep holding the bottle, as always
This maggi goreng… was gone in minutes.
Night 1 over!
Day 2:
Danny and Deep had to share a bed. Danny, you missed a spot where he could have got you!
Thank god for breakfast that Awanmulan provided every morning. It’s so hard to cook hungover.
The best thing to do hungover is roll around in bed and play with the camera
This is not a great pic but i’m posting it cos we took it just before Sue and Aaron left so no more pix of them from hereon!
Jun cooked lunch!
Danny can’t contain his glee
Oh mang. I’m getting hungry looking at this now and it’s 1:11am (LOOK it happened again, i just happened to check the time 0_-)
I’m not sure about this towel
I ADORE Jun’s salad dressings!
(ok that came out wrong.)
No, but really, i’ve never tasted salad dressing like the ones he makes. When i need alone time, he packs a few containers of varieties in my fridge so i don’t need to leave my house and can attempt detoxing at the same time.
Always first at the table
I brought some of the new floats we are selling on kinkybluefairy.com to test them out!
The unicorn has the cheekiest face, “like he’s up to something,” said Jun.
This kid was gangster. He kept on talking to us cos he wanted to play haha
This picture warms my heart!
We’re selling all these floats on KinkyBlueFairy.com!
We decided to do a BBQ for Night 2
Aurora was always in a precarious position (i held my breath when she was lying on the top of the railing that overlooked the roof below)
Note the vacuum-packed chicken Jun prepped in KL.
The only other person i know who’s brought a headlamp for a BBQ was… Matt.
Mmm chopping with a cleaver (i may have watched too much Dexter). Almost diverted my attention from that towel. Almost.
Aurora would semangat create the numbers “2016” every dinner. Sometimes, using the vegetables we wanted to put in salads… ?
We drank from ice shot glasses like happy teenagers.
Jun cooked supper again that night! #FatHoliday
Day 3:
Oh i painted Jun’s nails while he passed out the night before. I call his female alter ego “Sherry”.
Oh i had such a giggly time catching sight of Sherry’s nails all day. So did the others. Poor Jun. He made me remove it before he returned to work after New Year’s.
Tania made nachos for lunch!
TEEHEEHEE
Danny and Deep had to leave cos it was Deep’s brother’s birthday. We tried to convince Danny to stay but… we lost him.
Not that Tania was bothered, she went straight back to her nap.
Bye losers! (I hate people leaving a party, i’d lock them in if i could)
Sharing is caring!
Uncle Teng!
Jun did an Asian stir-fry using leftovers we wanted to finish. (That towel again! Saved by your cute face.)
Pod princesses!
Only Tania can climb out of a hammock with such grace
[I think i have to start making a rule that i can’t blog about Jun’s cooking if he’s not next to me.]
Sacrificing Alfredo, much to my disapproval
Alfredo got eaten after that and i think i was so upset i didn’t take anymore pictures.
Despite his death, it was such a perfect New Year’s Eve. Nobody uttered a word about work for 3 nights, and all we did was joke, laugh, eat and play. Ok i miss holidays like that already.
