To all the people who never want to go home.

Comments (12) Alcohol

You know, as i grew older, i thought i would slow down my partying.
I really thought i would, but as it turns out, it ISN’T HAPPENING.

I HAVE cut down the number of nights i drink in a week, but it seems like the less number of nights i drink happen, the more hardcore i am to stay out  0_o
Also, the more talk of the possibility of having children arises, the MORE I WANT TO GO OUT.
It’s as if i want to party as much as i can before i somehow, cannot, due to new life circumstances.

I can’t help it.
I love drinking.
I am a party animal.
And i am ACCEPTING that i will be a party animal for life.

My problem is i am the type of person who doesn’t want to go home.
There is a fine hazy line between having drinks and then being good and leaving,
and having drinks and going on till 3am or 5am because it’s TOO MUCH FUN to leave, there are so many people to talk to, conversation is fun, and hey, since i’m already here, i might as well continue having fun.

I can think of many accomplices who are similar… which is probably why we’re all a dangerous combination when we meet up  -_-

Since i’m gonna still have fun, at least i can be responsible for my health while doing so!

I have been taking Kamilari – these ayurvedic pills for the liver – for a year now, and something i should have started taking when i was 20! I first found out about the brand thru Deep, who if you don’t know, is such an alco that he’s got a blog called www.thirstyblogger.com. He said his liver tests after taking the pills improved drastically, and because i trust him, i went online and bought 10 boxes at a go :p

You’re supposed to take 2 a day before you eat anything, but because i’m not very rigid with my pill-taking, i usually take them thrice a week, especially before weekends or weddings. And you know what… i’ve been telling SO MANY people about them when i am out, cos i can FEEL the difference. I’ve never taken a liver test in my life (hmmm) but i was getting the occasional tummy upset and the runs (sorry, just had to put it out there) after heavy nights of drinking; and ever since i started taking Kamilari, i’ve NEVER HAD that problem.

I told another alco friend Danny how i take these liver pills, and he said he’s been taking them since his early 20s cos one of his older friends told him to do so. I really really wish someone told me to take these when i first started drinking, so i’m trying to do all of you a favour by telling YOU!

If you drink, i strongly suggest you invest in getting some Kamilari pills. It’s not even that expensive, it’s RM55/box for 60 capsules. One more important aspect i really like about it is that it’s plant-based and therefore natural. There’s a lot more info on its website which you should read so you KNOW what you are taking – www.kamilari.my

The reason i’m writing a full post about Kamilari is because i was introduced to Shailesh from Kamilari (in a bar, no less) and he wanted me to blog about it. He said he’ll sponsor me free boxes of Kamilari, and I said, “Shai, i already bought 10 boxes from you! I don’t need anymore free pills..!”

Since i already have my stash, we came to an agreement that we’ll give free boxes out to… YOU!

I love giving stuff away to my readers, and if you’re a party reader, then well, haha i guess we have an even stronger bond.

Shai and i will be giving away 20 boxes of Kamilari pills to 10x KinkyBlueFairy readers, so that’s 2 boxes per winner. You may even win this for a friend of yours whom you care about and likes to drink! And if you take the pills and find that they’ve worked wonderfully for you (which i know they WILL), please leave a testimonial on Kamilari! They’re a small business so word-of-mouth helps heaps 🙂

To enter, just comment on this post and tell me your craziest party night.
Or if you’re embarrassed, you could tell me about your friend’s craziest party night.
Or if you’re afraid your friends will kill you, give yourself/friend fake names.

When I first saw this post I was like, hey! sounds like me. I started drinking when I was 21 and realized how much I’ve missed out on by not drinking before then! and I loveee the taste of cocktails because it gives me shivers down my spine when the 3rd glass hits and I’ve been drinking until now. Its so much easier to have fun when I’m all giggly and happy. Plus my friends always mentioned how fun I am when Im a little alcoholic infused. LOL.

Once I hit 24, the alcohol effects took a major dive the next day. Hangover usually last a whole day for me and it ruins the fun I had the night before and I often promised myself I wont drink too much or I won’t even bother drinking anymore. I’ve been trying to find pills or stuff to take before drinking that can minimize the alcohol poison to my body because sometimes when you are having too much fun, you tend to forget to drink water as well and the hangover happens the next day and I get serious migraines and often need the toilet bowl every few minutes until my body clears off the poison.

I don’t drink alot nowadays because I know my body isnt getting any younger and I am more conscious about my health. But it ain’t fun anymore with so little drinks (1 or 2 now) and I still want to party!!

If a pill like Kalimari helps, I really want to try it! I love my cocktails and I really don’t wanna give them up. Can you imagine yourself giving up alcohol?????! Absurd right?

Hope to win them boxes!! and to get an email from you! 🙂

    Cheers
    Jane

My husband is a stressed-up contractor in construction and he drinks with his client and suppliers weekly. One particular morning, I found his socks on the porch, his shirt in the garden, 6 feet away and his PHONE on the patio table. (Good job, darling) I would very much love to give him these pills for his tortured liver. Thank you very much!

My craziest party night was this night when we were having this little bbq party to gather group of neighbourhood friends on xmas eve night at a fren’s plc. If u know the tall big blue bin fisherman uses to keep their catch, that is how mch beer we had that night, n someone silly-ly break the bin(too drunk, not sure who it was). Party went on till 3am in the morning, we randomly started playing mahjong till 7 plus in the morning. Nothing big to shout out abt but fun enuf to remember, hehe at least i could still recall the details. Would love to rescue my liver by trying out Kamilari! =D

    Hi Joyce
Funny enough I did a post on my blog about taking at least a month from alcohol and I failed at it! Alcohol has this special thing about it, it enhances my creativity especially when I do Karaoke! I can freestyle my songs perfectly well when under the influence.
I have been following your blog for more than 5 years now and absolutely love it! You have a fan all the way from Botswana in Africa. Now how about I get those pills, they would really help my poor liver! please say yes you will send them! Lol

    Hi Joyce.

Im an avid reader of ur blog n been reading it since I was in my first yr of uni (graduated abt 2 yrs ago). Ooh and I’ve took a photo wth u when im bumped into u (fan mode alert).

Reading ur post makes me realized I’ve never care abt my health. Been drinking for years and im the kind of person who drinks alco neat. Imagine wht would all those vodka, tequila, whisky did to my liver.as im typing this…im drinking my fav lager.

And everytime I promised myself im just gonna drink a few glasses, I’d end up super drunk and suffering from the hangover. It wasnt tht fun as how taio cruz potrayed in his hangover vid clip.

So yeah…if I get tht kalamari pills, maybe I would not need to stop lovin alco.

    Have a good day Joyce!

My dad drinks but not too often. I’m pretty concerned since he has gout. I know he is in pain but beer does cool him down and helps him sleep better. I think the pills will help cleanse the alcohol from his liver faster and improve his overall health. Thanks Joyce.

    Hi Joyce!

Well, if I happen to be one of the chosen winners, I plan to give the Kamilari pills to friends of mine who I know LOVES to drink. 🙂

Ok, so here goes a personal story of mine!

During one CNY, a bunch of friends got together at a friend’s house for drinks and games and more drinks. The night started with a drinking game with mixers of SOHO Lychee Liquer + Sprite. If you haven’t tried SOHO Lychee and are a fan of sweet, fruity liquers, this might have your name on it!

I LOVED IT because it’s like you’re drinking a cocktail. But therein lies the poison. I never knew how much I was actually drinking! It is so amazingly potent it’s s not funny.

Anywho, fast forward until the early hours of the day after, after mixers and beers, I found myself very sleepy and about to pass out on my friend’s couch. But being still semi-conscious, I muttered that I’m not feeling too good and might hurl. My friend came back with a shallow crystal bowl for me (haha wtf!) that, just as I suspected, didn’t help much at all when I did throw up. I missed the bowl and it all got on the floor, the couch and some on my friend who happened to be sleeping on the floor below the couch LOL!

Still pretty much drunk and couldn’t quite walk straight, I stumbled to the bathroom to clean myself up and tried to clean up the mess I had made as best I could. But of course being drunk, I didn’t do a good job.

I kept telling myself that I had to go home and so, I stumbled to the front door, locked the steel door and threw the keys back into the house.

I walked up to the gate but there wasn’t a soul there to open the gate for me. (My friend’s has guards and a guardhouse but… NOBODY WAS THERE!) I tried to look for a button in the guardhouse to open the gate but nothing. So, what did I do? I climb the gate! Yup, I’m a champion. And I climbed the steel gate and fumbled my way to my car. A neighborhood guard saw me climb over the gate and asked something but I didn’t hear properly. As all I wanted to do was get to my car and get home, I just quickly answered, “There was no one to help me open the gate. I’m fine! Thank you!”

I met up with my friend again later that day with the parents and I felt so ashamed and embarrassed. The mom knew that I spewed and left most of the mess there and I felt so bad and apologized. But everyone was wondering how did I get out of the house. And I told them that I climbed over the gate. After that, I was dubbed “the gate climber”.

Hope you enjoyed my story, Joyce! 🙂

Some of my craziest nights partying is with a friend who is an angry drunk. As the night progresses and alcohol starts to kick in, she goes from extremely hyper to extremely angry. Once after a clubbing session, she saw an attractive girl walking out of the club with her boyfriend. She called out to compliment how hot the girl was. Unfortunately the girl, who was also drunk thought that my friend was hitting on her boyfriend and started yelling expletives. My friend got so angry and would’ve walked over to punch the girl had both their boyfriends not held them back.

So, I would very much like to win these 2 boxes of Kamilari pills and pass on a box to my friend, the angry drunk 🙂

    Hi Joyce….
I started drinking the day I finished SPM lol…. Back then there were more kakis. Started with beer and it moves up to wine, brandy, rum and etc. When u hit the 3 series everything spirals to not so fun aftermath. Not forgetting memory lost after don’t know how many drinks. Swear I could remember everything till I got home.. (Back when I was young-er) Well… Slowly you were forced to slow down because the body wants you too… Sob… Miss the days where I can party again…

    Hi Joyce,

I wish to win the 2 boxes for my husband 🙂
He loves drinking so much and thus his blood result last week was *all-star*. Doc asked him to stop drinking for 3 months and repeat the blood test again before Christmas.

Craziest party night? My friends used to drink a lot and they played a game by throwing one of the guy naked (almost) to the road and videoed the whole process 😛

    Hi Joyce,

My craziest party night happened when i was in my mid 20s. I used to party every weekends and drank quite a lot in my heydays. One friday night, we went to a pub to celebrate our friends’ promotion at work. I got so so drunk that I had to rush out to the drain outside the pub and puke.

I puked my guts out and look a total mess. And who had to pass by but this guy I fancied. We were acquaintances and he, being a gentleman, held back my hair while I continue to puke. I was in no state to drive hom so he drove me home in my car instead, while his friend followed him so that he can bring him back after.

And guess what?? I puked some more in the car!! Not a lot, but enough to get some on him. Crap. Thank God it’s my car and not his, if not I’ll be indebted 2 lifetimes to him. I got home safely, thanks to him. I’ve never confessed to him that I like him but to this day, we’ve remained great friends.

I hope I can win the pills!! 🙂 I’m currently taking liver pills which i got from the pharmacy and I would love to try these plant based ones! xoxo

I was in Australia for a good 3 years and I’d tell you this, there are days where drinking beer/alcohol is much more economical compared to water. A box of goon (cheap wine) will only cost you about RM10 on “best buy” day at the Bottle-O. I had two fridges, one of them stored all the decent food like poultry, meat, greens etc. The other fridge was either filled with bottles of lagers, ales or heck some insane sugary mix vodka + rum + you name it.

I was lucky to survive my undergraduate career, we partied at least 4 times a week, came back at wee hours in the morning, but still managed to ace Uni big time. I guess drinking the piss (beer) does have its benefits. On some days, we would just go up to the tavern and drink a couple of schooners, which would cost us like 2 bucks (6 ringgit) each. Then we start hitting the coke and rum all night. That went on for at least 3 good years.

I never had my liver checked…too afraid to do so, sometimes I think half of it might have just disintegrated internally without me knowing it. I think I need to salvage whatever that is left. Ha ha ha.

Recently, I went over to Melbourne for a week to chill with a couple of Australian friends and I had like, 87 beers in 5 days. This is exculding the rum etc etc. A box of 20 MAXX lagers were on sale at Dan Murphy’s for 20 dollars. They were hitting the expiry date, approximately 1-2 weeks left, we spanked the piss big time. It was crazy, I replicated the “Mr Chow singing Hurt by Johnny Cash” scene at Esplanade, I nearly fell off the pier and I ended up sleeping in the botanical gardens the next morning. That is just one night. Imagine the other 4 nights.

Cool story, but the liver never liked it.
