Some beauty stuff for Christmas

Christmas shopping is tiring! First of all the school holidays pack the malls with scores of children running around and shouting, so i try to make a marathon and get out of the mall asap! But the thing with Christmas shopping is… you can’t rush it. I thought about what certain people would like some time in October, started buying them in November, so i just have some last bits to wrap up before THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS HITS. By then, i hope to not have to step into a mall at all.

Some pictures i’ve been instagramming and thought i’d compile together since it’s all beauty-related 😀

The Shu Uemura X Karl Lagerfeld collection is out everywhere. They’ve got a complete make up set collection so you have lots to choose from should you buy it (for someone, or yourself). I wore the eyeshadow out last night and FOUR people interrupted our conversation to ask what i was using!

Diptyque has just opened their second store in Pavilion (yay!). Everyone knows i ADORE Diptyque. Hmm i remember making all the girls try my perfumes the last time i had them over at my place.

In addition to their classic collection of cult candles, Diptyque has just released their Winter 2012 range – inspired by  hand-embroidered Kilim rugs. From left to right:
Oud Ambre – saffron, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper, Oud wood at the core, cedar, patchouli, white pear and absinthe, vanilla, tonka bean, rockrose and Somalian incense.
Oliban – frankincense, Italian lemon, myrrh and Javan vetiver.
Sapin Dore (Golden Fir) – Eucalyptus camphor, Siberian pine, Moroccan absinthe, Canadian fir.
[70g, RM135; 190g, RM275]

Benefit has open their first standalone store in Malaysia in 1 Utama. This is where i go to do my eyebrows now. I’ve heard for so long that Benefit is famous for their brow shaping and am relieved they’re finally here. I used to go threading but they get the shape wrong sometimes so… i don’t risk it anymore. Leave it to the professionals. They also do waxing for the whole body so you can grab their pamphlet for the prices.

Christmas gift sets at Benefit! If you were to buy someone just one item, i’d suggest any of what you see above, especially the Porefessional (works wonders and i use it for all events now!), their blushers, and ThatGal.

Rozie opened Asian Potions @ Publika (next to Ben’s) a few months ago, which provide Body Potions (Bath & Body Gels, Body Lotions, Body Creams) and Home Lifestyle Potions (Eco-friendly vegetable wax candles, Natural Reed Home Diffusers, Room Sprays). The scents are selected by her and other Potion Mixers around Asia; and are inspired by experiences, sights, memories and travels.

My personal favourite scent is Borneo Rainforest, which Rozie said: “…mainly uses Rose Wood Pure essential oils combined with the goodness of Asian ingredients. Rose wood essential oils effectively can stimulate the cells and regenerate tissue whilst the scent helps with headaches, colds and stress related problems. Our Body Potions use pure essential oils and it contains no parabens, SLS and petrochemicals.”

Products range from RM39 to RM399. Asian Potions also do Bespoke Gift Services for corporations, wedding favors and events. Visit their website for more info 😉 > AsianPotions.com
