YING YANG TWINS

Atlanta-based crunk rap duo, Kaine and D-Roc, debuted in 2000 with their single “Whistle While You Twurk” which went to No. 1 on the Billboard rap singles chart.

If you’re as blur as me and have heard of crunk but aren’t too sure what it IS,
crunk is is a style of music that originated from southern hip hop and electronic dance music in the early 1990s.

2003 was the year they really burst to stardom in mainstream popularity
when they collaborated with Lil Jon for his single “Get Low”

All the way from NYC is the ultimate party hit maker
who’s worked with artistes such as Timbaland, Babyface *screams!*, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Faith Evans, Nick Canon,
and featured on two hit songs –
Mariah Carey’s It’s Like That,
and Missy Elliott’s Lose Control

He’s probably best known for his song Be Faithful (with the Crooklyn Clan)
which shot to No. 1 in UK and Ireland, and top 5 in Australia (2005)

It Takes Scoop then reached the top 10 in UK, top 20 in Ireland, and top 40 in Australia in 2004.

When i first heard this, i was all, “Are you kidding me?”
His song has been like the R&B anthem in clubs for years
It’s that song that just won’t DIE and go away cos it’s so classic!

DJ CAMILO

The most-booked DJ in New York and known for his boundess energy on the decks,
DJ Camilo‘s reputation for raising the energy for thousands of clubbers
across Europe and North America
from London to Las Vegas
has earned him the nickname “The International Club King” and rightly so!

Having played for events such as “The Lucky Strike Tour” in Europe,
Las Vegas’ “Magic Show”,
Splash Festival in Germany (with 30,000 people!);
the main DJ of The Heavy Hitters was also nominated in 2003 for “Best Club DJ” at Justo’s Mix Tape Awards.

DOMINIQUE TSAI

Just to make things clear, Dominique Tsai is in no way related to Jolin Tsai

Born in Australia and educated in Shanghai,
Dominique got her big break in Taiwan when she was 19 in 2005 with the album “UV Ray” (under Alfa Music, the same label as Jay Chou)

The songstress, who is one quarter Russian,
has made a name for herself with soft rock songs that are a fusion of
R&B and rap, besides displaying a range in other genres.
Some of her songs have been described as echoing the sounds of early Avril Lavigne and Britpop.

In 2007, she released D-Doll, her second album after two years.

HOMIES
A quartet that unusually consist of:
– Blake: a professional basketball player / actor / music producer from Taiwan
– KY: soap opera actor and one of the funniest comedians in Taiwan
– LJ (Babyboi): an underground rapper
– a music producer

Their shared passion for music unites them to perform
and collaborate with DJs from Japah, HK, Singapore, Austrailia and Canada.

There isn’t a definite type of category to place them,
they make rhymes for hip/pop/trance, etc
and write about everyday life and what they observe in society
to inject into their songs.

DJ MILINKA

Hailing from Indonesia, the sexy tech house DJ was voted
Best Rookie of the Year ’06 and ’07, and
Best Female DJ ’07 and ’08!

With the capacity to play minimal, electro, progressive and techno,
Milinka has been spinning from Ibiza (opening Pete Tong’s Wonderland Plastic Lounge) to Zurich’s Street Parade,
and has worked alongside the likes of Frank Sonic, Monika Kruse, Mr Mike, Patrick Lindsley, and Phuture Traxx.

MR SAM

Producing a fusion of trance, progressvie and electro,
Mr Sam signed a deal with Tiesto’s Black Hole Recordings which quickly catapulted him to international success.
Since then, he’s accumulated over 60 impressive remixes for A-listers including:
Sinead O’Connor, Delirium, Age of Love, Praga Khan and more!

Besides his top-notch debut album “Lyteo” (2005), he’s als released
“Insight” (2006)
“Split” (2007)
and “Cygnes” (2008)

ONE BUCK SHORT

Yay, let Malaysia represent yo!
Leading punk rock act OBS has won 3 awards including:
Best Rock Group, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Vocalist (Mooky)
at the 2009 Voize Independent Music Awards.
