What Rubbish.

In The Star todayย  –

“Bloggers, including those paid to write product reviews, should set their own standards of ethics.”

Wow. So three bloggers’ opinions count as every blogger’s?
Time and time again, i’ve repeated that bloggers who get paid for their posts/reviews/advertorials (whatever you want to refer them as) should possess some media credibility.

You say you’re not media, yet want to be treated a certain way? What?! Make up your mind!ย

Reading the contradictions in the article made me scowl.
I already knew about the forum held yesterday when one of the PR managers who attended called me to share what atrocity he thought was being said.

Believe you me there will be retaliation on this subject from me and other individuals who do not feel the same way.

What is media credibility and who awards it?

Plus why do bloggers need credibility when the national mainstream media doesn’t have any?

It’s not like papers/mags don’t publish partial articles because of large ad spends pointed their way – they don’t disclose this and pretend they are impartial…isn’t that worse?

  5. A Married Man ponders the wisdom of self-imposed ethics.

aiya…lets just all write what we want to write. more importantly, let us mean what we say, and say what we mean.

hopefully, our own conscience/intelligence/maturity will dictate where the line is drawn for us. and lastly, that we will not suffer too much for the lack thereof.

p/s: yeh* you better check on what/who is misdirecting your site to a porn site. kena sabo ler ni…

Aw c’mon, other bloggers has the right to give their own review and get paid if they were approached in the first place. It’s the risk for the client anyway.
