Since some time had passed, and anger is said to decrease with time
Plus i noticed the name on the article and i know the writer

nothing should ever be an excuse. mistreating women because ur mother left u as a child is inexcusable, murdering someone because he slept with your wife isnt excusable.
it was, however, a reason, a factor. i dont lay blame on the way a newsroom works because i did choose to work in that newsroom. however, since the nst edited and printed the article in that form, who now holds the responsibility for its publishing?
