Zakwan Anuar, one of the most anticipated young designers in Malaysia, recently launched his Spring/Summer 2014 collection in KLPac. The show was also in collaboration with shoe and bag designer Maatin Shakir, and accessory designer Goran Kling.
The 23-year-old former law student said: “The idea of people having clothes that are so specific to the season has changed. There are no absolutes anymore. As the collection grew in front of my eyes, I saw how dark it was, which is contrary to the season.
But what I also saw, was this amazing combination of earth mineral colours such as silver, gold, the richness of bronze, and of course with black as the base of everything. In line with this, I’ve also incorporated the colour of the ocean, the mud, the forest and the sunset.”
It was Anuar’s first time experimenting with different materials such as jacquard, high gloss fabric, silk, and summer wool. As expected, the designer did a great job with it.
