It’s going to be a VERY BAD idea for you to read this post if you are due for a meal. I was half dying while uploading the pictures below with my taste buds reminiscing what i’d had. God knows WHY i saved so many food pictures into a folder, and didn’t really plan to post them, was just putting everything in order. And since they are there – i thought WHY NOT just blog all the stuff i’ve eaten in the past month!
Aย day before Valentine’s Day, Clem and i went to try Aria @ Bukit Damansara. I’ve been there before with my girls, but first time with him. Since it was V-Day eve, we managed to try their specials:
I had the tonnarelli – black spaghetti with jumbo crab meat, green olives and garlic in light tomato sauce. Crab meat servings were extremely generous. I could just about finish the plate!
Grilled lamb roulade that Clem had. I was so full that i didn’t try the skin (he doesn’t eat that stuff)… which i should have when the waiter cleared the plate away with a slightly appalled look on his face. We were told later it’s the best part. Shame on me!!

For our 2nd year anniversary, Clem took me to Prime @ Le Meridien. I’ve been talking about how i want him to try it since i had it (also) with the girls, and we just never got to it… till now!
It looks tiny but it’s damn filling. Trust.
Oh the steak is as SUBLIME as i remembered! Maybe even better. We both ordered it rare and i suggest you do the same if you ever eat there! The only thing that put me off was that it seemed really casual for a nice restaurant. Maybe cos it was Sunday night. But for the price we paid, we expected a fine dining experience… which was what we did get thrown in with really loud Chinese aunties talking, phones ringing (ugh! hate that!) and the waiter calling us ‘guys’. Twice.
The meat made up for it all tho. That’s how good Prime steak is. If you LOVE STEAK. YOU MUST TRY PRIME.

I’m currently addicted to the shrimp pasta diablo at Vin’s TTDI. I’ve taken bites off my friends’ plates and they’re all really good, but i just haven’t veered off my habitual order just yet. Plus point: the waiters are the friendliest in KL.

Iย still do a takeaway from Fat Spoon when i’m craving their spicy beef noodles.

Went to eat at Acme @ Troika for Brenda’s birthday
We had a really good night and i’m planning more one-on-one girlie dinners now! I expected more from my dish, maybe i just ordered the wrong thing. Been meaning to return but after taking 90 minutes to drive there the first time, i just haven’t been able to bear the thought of going through the same traffic to do so.

Thanks to Carole who invited me to Estate @ Intermark for a girl’s night out thingamajig.
I’m wearing: silver slip and leggings from Topshop; purple silk top from sevendays; necklace from Kyla Ruiz.
First time i was at Estate was after a fashion event and it was cool that this time round, the day was perfect for me to bring Flore (Clem’s sis who’s in town) along with me. We left Clem at home since it was a girlie thing hee hee.
Besides, i don’t know how he’d feel about being served desserts by half-naked male models.
Flore, dessert, and i. I have to add that it was very unappealing to see so many older women flock around the male models like meat and erm one even smeared dessert cream on his chest. They’re still people you know!
We ordered a triple cheese pizza to go with our champers and desserts cos we’re champion like that!

One random night i cooked a pasta with whatever i had in the fridge and sorta ‘made up’ my own recipe. After a year plus (?) of cooking i can finally say that i can at least know how to make do with whatever ingredients i have into a yummeh pasta!
Fried mince meat in garlic and onions, then mixed with yellow peppers and mushrooms that were cook separately. Dividing is key.

We have food brought from France stocked at home, and even more so now thanks to Flore who brought more than i ever imagined *i* could transport back! RESPECT AND LOVE!!!
We love viande des grison so much that it’s equally divided between Clem and i. He likes to stuff everything in his mouth (to the horror of the delayed gratification goddess in me) whereas i like to savor and munch mine slowly…
Oh putainnnn i was eating the above and couldn’t stop moaning and rolling around on the sofa in bliss. I exclaimed so many times to Clem, “Oh my god. I LOVE YOUR SISTER.”
So that’s some of my pigginess for the past month. MY STOMACH IS GROWLING SO BAD NOW.
eat so much yet u never look fat~
sigh… I missed your first statement.. and only saw it when I was knee deep in the pictures and not having for any dinner too..
i absolutely love the whole british interior going on in Estate! haven’t tried the food though – is it any good? and omg, speaking of acme, it is THE BEST. totally worth the drive – but having said that yeah it does feel like a long journey away – but do try the roasted potato salad entree, and the japanese scrambled egg salad. divine!! and for the sweet tooth, you would LOVE the unconventional desserts…
“They’re still people too you know” YES THEY ARE! Someone needs to form a Model Welfare Enforcement…or Council…or Union…or something.
Was nice seeing you at Estate ๐ Here’s the photo I took of you and your friend Flore

See you around I hope x
Hi Joyce! I’m a silent reader of yours. And I envy so much of your life! You have your own way of telling your travel/food experiences and I love it! Anyway, I’ve never been to Estate before. Me and my girls are planning to throw a nice surprise party to a friend. I’m thinking of Estate haha I need to know whether the half naked man models are there everyday? Hehe hope you can spare some time answering my silly question :p thanks Joyce! Btw have I tell you that you’re in my Idol’s list haha
